Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. The wind has dropped to a stiff breeze and the thermometer has reluctantly risen a few degrees in acknowledgement to the thicker cloud cover last night. Hard to believe it's only a week since I last wished for frozen mud and I have really appreciated being able to drive by car to the very end of the furthest field, but now the novelty is beginning to wear off. Looking at the snow flurries outside, our weather gift from Siberia is not quite over yet.

We'll get the coop up this weekend, but the chicks will stay in for the next couple of weeks. Right now, they are in a wire-wrapped dog kennel in the sunroom.

I am now the proud owner of an Instant Pot

Welcome to the Instant Pot Family! Does everyone have one now? Eric?

Soon builders will have a special spot built in every kitchen to accommodate the Instant Pot. It will be as standard as a microwave oven.

Nope, no instant pot here.

Jay, I may need your help - think I'm slowly developing a potless inferiority complex.

Snowy morning today. It didn't seem like a big deal yesterday, but I slipped on the ice-- running while holding the youngest trying to slide in my shoes. I managed to land in a way that he wasn't hurt at all, he just laughed, but the fall hurt a lot at the time, and last night the muscles running on one side from neck on down were extremely sore-- I guess minor whiplash? So today, kids get some playing with skis in the yard practice and the pond can wait till next winter. I think the bending over to help steady the kids on their skates would kill me now.

Last year Goldoni Italy had told me to contact them for a service manual, and my email got no response. I got my wife to call the Goldoni distributor in Slovakia yesterday, and even though it was 4 in the afternoon, the guy emailed me the repair manual right away. Today I'll move the 128 in to the garage and get started replacing taking it apart to replace the broken gear so it will be ready for when the ground defrosts to get peas and broccoli planted.

Good morning all, 29 this morning going to 48 and some wind this morning. No damage here as we are in a sheltered spot but a lot of people without electricity just north of here. Going to take it as easy as I can today. Prayers for RIP and all in need. Ed

33 here with no snow on the ground. Much better than the 6-8 they predicted. Had the wind and rain but no problems with electricity. Will check for damaged trees when the sun comes up. Hope everyone else survived as good as I did.

Pretty sloppy day yesterday, but we didn't get any of the high winds like the coast did.

I cleaned the walks after work (maybe an inch of very wet snow, but easy to shovel). Not enough to use the snow blower, so I'll probably just scrap it with the bucket...get it down before a refreeze then hit any icy areas with the salt spreader.

32 degrees right now, high about 40 or so.

Ed, are you in a "hollow"? Lee of a mountain?
Sheltered spots are wonderful...

36 out today, wind still blowing but much less.
Working in the garden today, putting down landscape cloth if it's not
too muddy in there. We got about two inches of rain and while the hills may be drying out, the
furrows are muddy. I am not slipping around in there or I'll do exactly what Andrew/FreedomLives did, though maybe my
mud would be softer...

FL, if I may abbreviate, you protected the precious package, attaboy, sorry you pulled a muscle and hopefully nothing worse.
You fell in an odd way. I'm a retired insurance guy and can tell you falls are a huge cause of injuries, still..., seems we can't stay vertical all the time. Falling down stairs at home when one doesn't have one hand on the rail like you are supposed to...coffee in one hand, papers or something in the other and then bam. Or worse, bumpity bumpity bump. Sorry you got hurt. Injuries, and preventing them, is always a good discussion here, and the site has a Safety section that is very interesting reading. There but for the Grace of God go us...or the equivalent in your faith if different.

Will be sunny but not so warm today. I just want the warmth of 2pm to show up at 7am when I'm ready to go to work...
Today I make the garden look good.
Fake it til you make it.

That's good news Phil, you were in the bullseye on this mess, and glad you don't have a home close to the water. The flooding
is bad news.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 21° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 41° with sunny skies. Lots of sun yesterday melted most of the snow left on drive and walkways after plowing. Finally going to get back to my project list. Clean out all old caulk and re caulk shower pan in master bath.

When I went to PT yesterday. Told them that I had pain when using my 12" shovel to clear some snow that snow plow could not get at. That was a mistake. Since I was the only patient that showed up. I had 4 therapist telling me that I should get someone else to do shoveling. But no volunteers in the group. I got bailed out by 5th therapist. Who used my information to work on the spot that was giving me pain. Fun morning and got extra care. :D Back feels much better after a week of therapy and some exercises at home.

Don, while we have a IP. It has been shuffled to the back of a cabinet shelf. The Ninja slow cooker and Air Fryer get regular use. Like the smell of something cooking in the slow cooker all day.

Hope all made it safely through the winter storms.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

potless inferiority complex.

I have this horrible upset stomach, and it was diagnosed due to PIC.
Had to look that up.

I coulda, I shoulda, but will I?
Is this thing really better than my Crockpot?
Worth shelf room?
I have a few of these gizmos I gave my wife over the years. I figure if it's been sitting there for four years and I haven't used it,
it should probably go to charity.
But then, maybe some day I will make Belgian waffles...

Biggest problem I had with crockpots was leaving the house with the thing running. That makes an old fireman nervous.
Too many of these appliances have a history of catching on fire. None of them seem to have proper fusing to prevent fires.

39, wind gusting to around 35 now. I was hoping the wind would change direction and fix my flagpole, I didn’t win the lottery either.
Daughter and grandson spent the night, no power at their house. Son in law flew in from Tucson overnight. I bet his arms are tired bucking that wind!

21 and going to a high of 32. Wind NNW 7 mph. Mainly sunny. This is a good thing.

I've got nothing planned for today. Maybe conserve energy.

Stay safe all

My condolences to the cook in your house. :stirthepot:

We, too, still don't have an Instant Pot although we have eaten a meal prepared in one at our former next door neighbor's home. But we do have two crockpots.

No don't have an Instant Pot either, wife said NO so that is fine with me. She does the cooking.

Drew, no holler, we live on a hill but have tall trees to the north, north west and south and south west so we are sheltered from the wind. Ed
