Drinking first cup of coffee. 39° with rain this morning. Heading to 36° with rain stopping by noon. I have a return visit for my back this morning. The wife a a appointment for results of her sleep test last week. Hope to get out and enjoy do some walking. I need exercises to get this old body loosened up.

Jay, I got a LaCrosse PWS last Thanksgiving from Sams Club. While it is not a Davis. I has worked good for me this winter. It has a APP that now works well. Had problems until a couple weeks ago. Support has been good the 2 times I have contacted them. I like it better than the Acurite PWS because temperature and humidity sensor is not part of the wind and rain sensor. Can be mounted up to 300' away. Plus you can add more sensors to the APP. I think it's the same unit Randy has. Somewhere I think I saw where you can create a site like B7510HSD's. Does it have problems. One is display has a small viewing angle. Best to read reviews for other problems. I plan to buy a spare one next time I see it on sale. My Sams Club had them as low as $49.

Drew, I got a HF shop crane. It helped me assemble my chipper and move other items around in barn. It fold up so it is out of the way. Trying to muscle around heavy attachment will not help your joints.

Hope all are getting over the ill's.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

Good morning all. 54 now going to 77 with a 30% chance of thunder storms. Slept pretty good last night, Still on the wedge pillow but sleep is nice. Mom is in rehab about 200 yd from the grocery store. Looking forward to feeling better so I can visit.

Prayers all around. Ed

34 and dipping to 27. 40% chance of flurries. Wind WSW 10 gusting to 18 mph.
It is raining right now. I hope the temp dips fast enough that what we get is snow and not freezing rain.
Yesterdays' freezing rain didn't happen, thankfully.

The snow I plowed yesterday was super saturated with water to the point that I am glad I didn't put the blower on and ran with the bucket all winter.

The last of the paperwork for my taxes is in, but I have to wait until the first of March to file them, so I will courier them to the accountant on the first.

I may go out and scrape some more built up snow off the driveway this morning, then again I may not.

Have a good day all

Ron, you’re right about the viewing angle on the PWS, it’s like old fashioned lcd TVs. But I only look st it from one spot so I set it up to see it there. Everywhere else I monitor with my iPhone or iPad.
Supposed to near the 80 mark, bug it’s going to have to clear out first. Its 63 now.
Taking my grandson to school then headed to Food Lion.
Son in law is in Vegas for 3 days for a Site 1/ golf course and lawn care seminar. He flies hone Friday and back to Tucson on Wednesday for three days. I’m glad I don’t have to.

Weird weather around here; temperature yesterday was 70 or more, and overcast, when I took my neighbor to a 10 a.m. doctor's appointment. Then we had a downpour as we left the doctor's office. But by yesterday afternoon we only had about .9" inch of rain in my gauge. And this morning, it's 31 degrees and raining. Over 2" in my gauge, still raining, with freezing rain in the forecast.

all I can say about my weather station is Accurite is actually Accuwrong...
Until it totally breaks at least I'll enjoy the pretty screen. Who cares about the data
if it looks nice right?

Ed, sure hope you feel better. May take a whlle, lots of folks affected for weeks.
Until then phone calls help. She'll be trying to take care of you while you try to take care of her.
All normal and good.

61 in damp fog. Everything is wet outside. Going up to 80. Sure making things pop out of the ground.

but we all know the Big Freeze is coming. Now when in March?

30°F and freezing rain this morning, going up to 36° today. More rain tonight, and warming starts again tomorrow, with 60s by Saturday.

Took a bit of time and effort to get through the ice and into the car this morning. Didn't plan that well at all, and made myself late for work because of it. I'll be much happier when we get the garage cleaned out again and organized enough to put the cars back in there.

Stopped at Guitar Center on the way home form work last night and bought a new pair of headphones for my studio (Sennheiser HD280). The ones I have been using I've had since 1984 . They are starting to show their age. Not only did GC actually have in stock the ones I wanted (which is rare there), they even had them at 20% off. That was a pleasant surprise, as they were listed on the website at regular price. They sounded really nice during the in-store trial. Very impressive bass response, and very clean. I'll give them a real test drive this evening. Pretty sure my 34-year-old Koss phones never sounded this good, even when new.

Good morning all! 25* going up to around 45* , windy later with a chance of snow tonight...the weather guessers aren't saying how much, probably not much, last storm was a bust. Another front/ chance of snow again on Friday. Then staying cold in the 30's and low 40's for a week. It's probably my fault because I got the materials to start a project.....silly me, thinking the weather was gonna stay nice this time of the year :confused2:

Have an appointment with the ortho doc this morning. Hopefully good news, probably won't know anything until after an MRI. We'll see. Stayed inside yesterday, didn't work the knee too much, feels a little better this morning.

Not much else going on. Prayers out for those needing them. Glad to hear everyone seems to be getting better.

Anyone hear from Riptides?

Just saw that Rev. Billy Graham passed away, at day break today, at his home in N. Carolina. He would have been 100 years this coming November. What a difference maker.

/ Good morning!!!! #70,991
Rev. Graham + impacted on millions globally. RIP.

I bought a cheap outdoor thermometer = 50コF and foggy this AM. The fog is "burning" off. It may hit the high 60コF's here today. And tonight possible freezing rain and rain Thursday changing over to freezing rain/sleet then ~2" of nuisance snow predicted Thursday night changing over to mixed precipitation to rain Friday. This rain/mix precipitation cycle will run through the weekend. I expect a couple of ice events. :( Early March is looking interesting. Maybe a true (Miller A) coastal storm.:cool::D coming this way.

I have a wet deck and pile of split wood on the deck waiting to dry. :( I did not anticipate the degree of "wet" we got last night/early AM. I would really like to break down enough firewood for the rest of the season and stack it on the deck. Splitting it down removes a lot of dirt which is best left outdoors. ;)

LS- I had a feeling you would like that global emergency site. If I remember correctly they will also post solar flare (EMP) alerts when necessary.

Ray- A bad day for fog in the CT river valley. Good luck with the drive down and drive back in the rain.

Phil- This MA weather is abut the craziest that I have seen in many years. I do not like the potential elevation dependent icing threats this week.

RNG, B75, Dugan, Randy, and Ron- I really appreciate your opinions about the PWS's. A friend of mine got a Davis VantagePro for Christmas and has asked me to help set it up. A little practice setting up a station will not hurt.

RIP's lack of posting is concerning.

My + thoughts, prayers, and wishes for all.

The low this morning was -16*, it was in the upper teens yesterday for the high. The high today is going to be back in the teens and sunny with a light wind.

Finish moving the snow around yesterday. But didn't get any of to melt.

Don't have any plans for today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

A few days ago or last week sometime, I posted about a shooting that occurred here at a local gas station. Well the follow up story tonight on the news: the state police arrested 7 people in connection w/ planning and executing the robbery. The gunman was the last to be caught. The murder of the attendant was for the big sum of $55 dollars.....sick, sick, MF:censored: then he had 'incarceritis' when he got caught, claiming injuries during the arrest... Makes me sick!!

And some wonder why I HATE PEOPLE, occupational hazard I guess sad part retirement hasn't changed my mind, except if own a tractor of on TBN

57 and sunny started the day renewing my state firearm permit good for another 5 years although covered by federal certification I have had the state permit for over 40 years I keep it up.

-4F this morning, coffee tastes especially good this morning... Grand daughter will transition from M-W-F half days of pre school to full days M-W-F. If things work out, daughter will be able to both drop her in morning and pick her up after work. This will reduce my wife's trips to town but will also allow us to have 4 day weekends when we want (I still have to work on Friday and Monday, but we could travel some locally at least, with me working using smartphone).

66°F and no rain last 24 hours.

Kalani home from Vet, a bit stiff with her stitches I suspect, but Boxer wiggle butt as usual. Now the trick will be getting her to take her meds.
Nice building Randy.
Drew, please slow down, you’re wearing me out.
All this travel talk! I’ll be glad to stay home for a bit. I do enjoy your pics.

Continued prayers for all in need.

Got an unsettling call yesterday from a former co worker friend. Call came while in dentist office and phones were off and his voicemail a bit garbled. Seems he fell at home, housekeeper found him and got him to hospital. Kidney and liver problems. 3 days in a coma. Hopes to transfer to rehab in week or so, but didn’t sound hopeful beyond that. Brian is perhaps one of the smartest people I’ve known. He didn’t have a tractor though. Although not active duty military, in his civilian capacity he made immense contributions that will never be publicly recognized. His 1st wife and mine made fun traveling companions. We all celebrated their wedding anniversary on the eastern side of Brandenburg Gate right after the Wall came done. She died of cancer just a few years after. Looking back I’m suspecting that may have led to his current state more than I would have thought based on things said in phone call. His second wife a nice lady, but they probably shouldn’t have married, sorta run off to do her own thing as an artist in Mexico after about 3 years but never divorced.
As we are close in age this all hits home. So, if any extra prayers out there I think my friend Brian could use them.

My drone crashed itself from 300ft but I think it survived. Hope to test later.

Be safe
Have a great day.

David- I hope Brian's progress exceeds the expectations. I wonder just how many "secret warriors" are out there and whose "stories" will never be known. My + thoughts and prayers for your friend.

Sorry to read about your drone. 300' is a decent height from which to fall. I hope that it is salvageable. I have all kinds of drone debris in my lower field. A couple of my fly-a-ways are still somewhere in the surrounding woods.

Trip hopefully this August to Moab. Really want to go to Yellowstone, but Jay made me think about the caldera....my luck and it will blow while we're there..

You might want to check climate data for Moab in August: It's very hot that time of year. Best time is October...
