Earlier this year a running gun battle resulted when two gangs bumped into each other at a Hmong (Cambodian) family reunion. It ran for about 30 miles and ended up in the parking lot of the bank I use, with one of the offender's pickup trucks upside down. Fortunately it was my off week to be in town and I missed all the excitement.
Drew, even the 6" trencher will make a lot less mess than the mini-excavator, and you might find that with your sandy soil a narrower trench would tend to collapse back on itself anyway. If you do end up with a trencher of some sort, resist the urge to dig any deeper than absolutely necessary. The more dirt you move the more work you make for yourself, but the trencher doesn't seem to care how deep it goes.
Eric, I've never seen a weed machine like that, but I can envision certain advantages, such as no drifting spray. I just wonder how you'd keep the spines and burrs from packing up on the bristles? This time of year when I walk around in the meadows here, my pants legs and shoe laces are full of them!
RS, I'm jealous of your bandwidth. Pics or it don't count when you get the Simplicity back together.
Headed two hours north for a saddle adjustment this morning, hoping to beat the heat by getting an early start. It's supposed by be 107F by mid afternoon, and the large wind bucking fairing on the motorcycle and heavy riding gear I wear are a perfect recipe for heat stroke. I'll be carrying a sport pack filled with water, but will probably end up stopping for fuel and shade at least once just to be safe.
Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
