Good morning all! Just got caught up. 20* this morning, cloudy, fog, had a snow sqaull go through early am, left about an inch. Only going up to about 40*.

Jay, glad to hear your trip was great... At least no confrontations with any monkeys I will support your thoughts/documentation of CBD/THC for medicinal uses. The Mrs has been struggling w/ RA, DDD, DJD, osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis... Could name it all... No medications would work, well at least not without causing substantial other problems. She actually lost 2.5" in height due to compaction of her discs. I finally convinced her to try CBD oil... 2 weeks now and it's like she's a new person! She can't tolerate the THC, so only using the 90/10. 1/2 dose in the morning, full dose before bed... Unbelievable stuff! Only wish I could try, but can't because of work

Drew: Don't know why I looked at your profile, small world...I Grew up in Lower Bucks Co, Wife lived in Newtown and worked in New Hope! When we married, lived in Newtown about 5years then had a small farm north of Doylestown near Perkasie. Boy I sure miss the green there. (Pretty much miss everything there). I still make an awesome Philly cheese steak! We have also perfected making soft pretzels at an elevation of 7,000ft:licking:

Ed: we actually have EMS training now specific to the geriatric population because of different and specific needs. The new Med students are now being schooled in "geriatric medicine" Try and find a younger Dr. For your mom.

Good Morning! 33˚ only getting to 40˚ today. Today is TURKEY day. The women in our small (60 members) church bake a turkey and bring it to church, after church we sell what we don't eat, usually about 1000 plates. My wife is in charge of the tea. (the only non-meat dish) She make 10 gallons of unsweet tea and 15 gallon of "Southern" Sweet Tea. By the way there are 7 pounds of sugar in 5 gallons of sweet tea. I just get to collect money and empty the trash. We are usually sold out by noon so I'll come home before I get too hungry, but it sure smells good in there.

Ron, I had a good experience with Costco for Hearing aids (about 1/2 price). You must get the remote that hangs around your neck under the shirt. You can operate the remote through your shirt to adjust volume and change channels (filters). It also used to pick up and hang up your phone.

Do you guys ship? Sounds like some good food... I知 just a bit too far for a quick road trip :licking:

LS/Ted, our farm was named Rockwood Farm on the lower end of Aquetong Road where it met River Road just above Bowman's Tower.
My grandfather bought 116 acres for 16 grand and we have the letter where he expressed his concern to the realtor that he was paying too much.
You know what that area is like now; I couldn't afford a farm there like what I have now. I'd have to add one million dollars to the price tag.
Here I can have fun because I can afford it; Newtown btw is just wall to wall Audis and Land Rovers going by. Almost no one drives a truck.
And there is so much traffic all the time. And here I can drive to town and not get behind another car. But green and pretty? You bet.
Just too many people there now. My little high school of New Hope Solebury scored number two in the State for educational achievement.
Everyone wants to live there.

Versus where I live now where schools aren't so hot and only retirees will move in, not families looking for the full package.
NC doesn't deliver on education unfortunately, certainly not in this area. Which is why I pay less than two thousand annually for all in taxes.

Yes, when I think of New Mexico I do not think of green.

LS_mt125_owner- I am glad to read that you were able to convince your wife to try CBD oil. I am even happier to read that it is working. You would be amazed at the med-evac services down here in CR: even the general medical services. They are on par with the USA. We had a "naughty" boy who did not heed our warning about going off trail which resulted in a fer-de-lance bite or maybe it was a bushmaster, both are pit vipers. We got him airlifted back to San Jose and he was in the USA w/i 24 hours. After he recovered he went (was shanghaied) immediately to a wilderness "brat camp" for "re-education." I am happy to read that new medical students arena learning about geriatric medicine.

I am a gram a day person at home. It is a great bronchodilator too. For all my pulmonary challenges I have not used any inhaler(s) for a couple of years. i have been priviledged to have known concentration camp survivors (# tattoos). The Germans in WWII gave high value workers in the concentration camp war material producing factories joints to smoke for respiratory problems until they worked them to death.

I am glad that I am retired. I do not have to deal with the pee tests nor ethical issues related to my "drug use." THC does "mellow" one's mental status. Cuba did an intersting research project years ago on sugar cane workers. The control group was "straight" the test population had the "stoners." The "stoners" actually did cut as much cane as the control group, but were much less efficient and had to work harder to equal the control group's production. The "stoners" were actually correct about feeling themselves to be "working harder." I still wonder what Fidel ultimately did with the "stoner" group. Some behavioral research psychologists used to "cull" out rats that did not meet "experimental expectations" to improve their research statitics.

Wow, you just brought back some names of the past.. fond memories of Bowman’s tower... last I went back(about 15 yr ago) couldn’t believe how packed it got! Every now and then I’ll go online and look at the old property. I sold it in ‘92 for 350k, same place 3yrs ago 1.65mil... should’ve stayed.. naw—-couldn’t deal with that many people now:confused2:

NM is getting out of hand w/ crime.. poor schools.. DWI.. you name it! Working on an exit strategy now. Going to take multiple trips to possible relocation areas this year...looking for the great green rural semi-retirement place of our dreams...hopefully I can find it on our buget

I hope that you and your wife fing the "perfect place" or at least something really close.

When we were much younger and even more foolish than we are now we were thinking about CR, but that is no longer under consideration......... not that I am much less foolish nowadays. Too hot here 90+ days/mid 70 nights. Other areas in higher elevations are much more temperate, but we would really have to learn Spanish even though there are "American enclaves."

Because you're wrong as wrong can be. Its hydro, R1, and the largest double lid your tractor can lift.
