Thanks for your climate info. It's been 50:50 here with the snow/rain banding with this Season's storms so far. I get a fair amount of snow from Lake Effect snow plumes and the Great Lake clippers usually drop their 1" - 3." The major snow events this year so far have been Appalachian runners where we see little to no snow (MA CONUS and SE/SW CONUS get hammered) and then the coastal storms which are timing/tracking dependent for snow. Most years we in the western MA Hiltons see significantly more snow than coastal MA. Lately it is not as significant. We used to see 100" - 110" of snow in the 1970's. Now we are seeing 80" - 90". I suspect (for me) that the recent, current rain to freezing/frozen precipitation back to rain pattern is changing next month. Out weekend storm system will start rain end snow and that storm for February may be an all snow event depending on storm track and timing.

Traffic and ice melt will spread those ashes around. This airtight energy efficient is "too efficient" for ash production, but better burn. The old leaky, smelly 3 legged Ben Franklin burned wood more completely

You are there for her now that's what counts and when she needs more care than you can provide you can switch to the role of patient advocate to make sure she continues to have the best care.

One should age in place with home based supports as long as safety and care needs are met.

The Alzheimer unit that I managed was in the "basement" of a Assisted Living facility. I worked upstairs at times as needed.

I forget the poster, but there was mention of demented/dementing person's bare elopement. That brought up some memories. I should write a book about the shenanigans (i.e. 911's) residents of long term facilities have gotten into over the years. The PC word around here for "escape" is "elopement." I recommended that one really good eloper (a real Houdini) have a "wander guard" sewn into the lining of her pocket book. That really worked until she switched to her Spring pocketbook and being religiously preoccupied went to the church next door and "got in a little bit of trouble". Once inside there was a scene out of the "Graduate" she must have seen it :eek" And there was a pizzeria nearby,,,, She used to work in a pizzeria.

What a disappointing morning. After all that work yesterday getting the rv ready, I take it down this morning only to get stiff armed by the local and only rv dealer. My unit competes directly with theirs, the Raleigh RV show is next week, and mine has cherry wood finish and all of theirs are dark brown (and in my opinion ugly, which is why I didn't buy from them in the beginning.). Otherwise these are all flyweight boxes on wheels with the same components. They never looked at my rv, never looked at my carefully prepared full page list of items on the unit and told me it was all based on what the bank would value it as, which was base msrp, not with my five grand of options. (??) I was getting nowhere, we were too many thousands apart, and I thanked them for their time and pulled the trailer home. More work...set it up in parking lot, did some staging (set the table, towels in bathroom) and will put ad in rvt.com tonight.
I just hate inviting the unknown public here...the looky lous and lowballers.

A concern I have is this weather coming up as several of you have discussed. I see one morning at 22 degrees. Yikes. Sure can't put water in the rv tanks in that weather. I'd really like to test out the water system, make sure it all survived the winter. Nothing like testing it with the buyer there and water goes everywhere out of a broken faucet. Been there done that. All the fixtures are cheesy lightweight plastic. The aftermarket shower head I bought fell off the holder, hit the wall, and broke into pieces. That was nice to find. I put the original one back in there (sure glad I kept it) and when tightening it, it seemed to tighten "too far". I hate plastic fittings and hope I didn't crack it.

Tomorrow I might try making some rows in the garden, am afraid I'll get the Super A back after that storm coming and then it will be too wet out there.
So I might take the little Massey out with my rear hiller. I just have to remind myself not to look back. Every time I do the row wiggles.

We’ve had a lot of rain and snow since the beginning of December. We went from dry to wet in two months. Today was colder than predicted and tonight looks like we could slip below 20 here in the country. Warm weekend with heavy rain Sunday.

Another gray day today. But tomorrow is supposed to be near 50! and clear. I am going to finish the handicap ramp at the rental. I should be able to get r done!!

Ed when my Mom was treated for cancer she also started weight loss I would cook for her and she would eat but still lost the weight to help we added a bottle of Boost to her daily diet and helped may be worth a try.

When?

First and second week of Feburary time frame. Pieces of polar vortex will break off sending cold air down into Texas and the eastern seaboard. May be some moderation in between but it will be cold and energy coming from the west will tap gulf moisture producing precipitation. Drew should again be in the cross hairs literally. There are signs cold will last entire month of February. I also believe you will get some of the frozen stuff again
