Only took 1 of the 2 suspected meds tonight, so far no hives. Thought the one i took might be the one, since i only have taken 4 from the new batch, and 3 days ago is when hives began. Didnt take the statin tonight, but have used over a month of this type without a problem. Maybe its the combination.

Has anyone installed a hinged flagpole. I was thinking of a flag pole between two c-beams (faced outward) with two bolts - remove the bottom bolt to pivot the flagpole down.

No but I did hinge a 4x4 security light pole at my old house’ made servicing very easy. Used barn door hinge on the back side out of sight and smaller flat bracket on the other side. When I had to service I’d take my drill driver and run the one screw out.

Good evening all. 2 this morning, light wind clear sky. wind calmer today, sky stayed clear and temp warmed to 42F. Worked on WBS ash build up then prepped for bike ride. Shorten bike ride due to cold, abd lack of interest. Managed to not overheat the living room today maxed out at 73F, keeps heat off but SWMBO.

Rip good to hear you are home!

Buckeye, wife developed allergy during chemo, wife reacted badly to it,scary stuff. Hope you can find out what it is.

Lou enjoyed your driveway video.

Always have watched the weather close between outside work and flying. Got halfway home once, maybe 30min. flying time didn't like what I saw, and special weather ob had shown weather had gone from ok VFR to hard IFR (instrument flying). Turned around and went home, if they had forecast the possible deterioration, would have not gone.

That was quick, they figured out what happened in Hawaii to send out that false missile alarm:

And just in case all this talk about mental health has you spooked, here's a handy test you can use to see if you're OK:

Good morning all, 11 this morning going to 27 and sunny. Took it easy yesterday, went out to the shop for a bit but brain fog would not let me figure out how to do things. Lyme is fun. 42 years ago they took my brother in law to a "home" for mentally challenged boys. They put him in a dorm with other boys in the dark. He did not know where he was and they did not let him see family for 6 weeks. He was a mentally challenged 8 year old at the time. When they got to see him again he was a zombie, no notice of anything around him. When i think about that it makes me want to ......... Today the government wants to make sure that they are taken away from family and put somewhere else. Still makes me want to ......... Enough said. Will likely take it easy today.

RIP Glad you and your wife got home safe. Praying.

Praying for "the list" Ed

17 and dropping, but will get up to 31.

Speaking of weather, out electric co-op includes some data that helps explain the changes in our bill...graphs, comparisons of this month vs. last month and last year. Last month's average low temp was 6 degrees colder than same month last year. That's quite significant...and the bill amount bears it out.

Spent most of yesterday working on finances and prepping for taxes...and a little reading time with my wife.

Don, very interesting description of the paver project. I still remember seeing that completed photo for the first time...very impressive.

BEF, hope you have solved the hives/meds mystery.

After running out on my first batch of 10,000 pavers from Acme Brick in Texas, I had to go to another supplier in Mexico. The quality was sub par and about half were defective so I bought twice as many, a discount was given after I brought back several pallets but then they told me just to keep them. I was able to use the defective ones whenever I did not need a full paver. In the end I had several pallets left over.

The job is easy if you compact the soil (preferably gravel then coarse sand) before you lay the pavers and have a good cement boarder. Divide the project into sections each surrounded by a cement boarder about 8-12 inches wide and no more than about 1,200 pavers. There are pavers made to walk on and pavers made to drive on, be sure to use the appropriate paver. The pavers are made to either have a gap or lay touching each other (knobs and tampered). If you can, get the ones that butt up against each other. I used the straight edge pavers that required a quarter inch gap and cut about 50,000 small styrofoam spacers before applying the setting paver sand in-between the pavers. I'm going to have to rest now the memories are making me tired.
I helped Don with one section of his drive. Kind of work I like. Don had the whole section all prepped. All we did was lay bricks. Very rewarding seeing the project completed.

Good morning all. Winter has returned after a nice warm break that melted all the snow and now 23 going into only the forties today.

Mostly, didn't know you were a pilot. Do you still fly? Wonder when you have time after your remarkable passion with bikes.

Don's paver project is a work of art and we all enjoyed watching it get done.

Pleco's, the dinosaurs of fish. Fish tank garbage collectors, and thanks to them who like to eat the algae off the sides of tanks.
They can get pretty big, look like little alligators in there... never saw one bother another fish though.

I have now forgotten to get distilled water twice when going down town so will make a special trip for it this morning. Very curious to see how
my garden soil tests out.

With the warm weather here last Friday the stink bugs and lady bugs woke up from their slumber for a short spell. I was hoping the cold had done them in. No such luck but not near as many as usual when these short lived warm ups appear. Still seeing 1 to 3 inches for NC and parts of Va probably not me. On the horizon a warm up starting next weekend thru the 24th or so until another round of very cold air makes a run at the east. Could be just as cold as the last one

Need to pour second cup of hot coffee. -6° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 21° partly sunny skies. Another stay in the house day. Going to climb under bath vanity cabinet and replace 2 faucet hoses that were too short for my installation without pinching off waterflow. Then do some shopping a new iPhone for wife. She is having problems using her small iPhone 6. Probably get her a 8 plus or X.
Best wishes and prayers Riptides, Buckeye, Toppop, Ed and others needing them.
Good Morning All.

Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Managed to get past a 4 hour sleep window this AM. We are hoping to start a 6 hour dosing today, and start weaning off one of the nasty pain medicines.

I realized on Monday, I will have not slept in a bed for close to a month. That's got to be nearing a record for me. My back and arm tells me I need a wide flat surface soon. LOL.

It's 15 outside this AM, with some wind whipping about. My goal for today is for some me time. I think I will shave. I look like a cave man.

Other than that, I could use a food run and I need a cell phone repair shop. Cracked my screen in NYC. First time I ever dropped a mobile device.

Have a great day all, be safe. A friend of ours, texted from Hawaii yesterday, her message sent me scrambling for more information. For those responsible, to say what happened was stupid, is an understatement.

I'm going to guess the car is German. Never understood why front tires of all these nice expensive Euro cars were always black.
They seem to use a different compound than we do, maybe autobahn rated...but dirty.

2nd load of wash in, eating the last of my home made blueberry pancakes for breakfast. I have to eat a hard boiled egg with all these carbs or I'd be starving by 10am. Am using a heart healthy pancake mix and boy is it awful. I think next time I'll dump some more vanilla in to give it some taste.

So here's David with guests coming in to look at a new home, and the nuclear attack siren goes off. Not a good day for realtors...
David, you doing ok? You can get out from underneath your FEL bucket now. Turn it upside down and crawl under. Hmm, need someone to lift it up...back to plan B....;)

-10F and looking at a high of 14. Wind SSW 5 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

I think I will go plow off the snow from Thursday and Friday.

BEF, my Dr. ( the only one I ever had any respect for) told me that once you have an allergic reaction to a drug, the second reaction could kill you. Now maybe she was being over dramatic, her knowing my passion for living life 'on the edge'. I never tried to test her theory.
Be very careful!

Have a good day all
