Coffee has finished brewing. 19° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 43 with mostly sunny skies. Need to put up Christmas tree and bring in totes with decorations for wife. I am sure there will be other things to bring in.
Buppies, hope you get to feeling better soon.
Good Morning All.

Good morning all!

15 and a high of 32 with periods of snow. Wind NW 7 mph.

rs, is there any reason why you cannot hinge the back of the cab. You could use the same hydraulic system they use on cabover trucks to get the cab up and over if the need be.

My keyboard just started messing up.

Keyboard fixed. A reboot works wonders.

Good morning all, 38 going to 51 and sunny. Yesterday was crazy and did not get on here but it was a good day. Slept late and then wife's nephews came and visited for about 5 hr's. One is 19 and is slowly working on starting a trim carpentry co of his own in the spring. When I was 19 I had different things on my mind. Today will take it easy and see what comes.

Wing Happy Anniversary and many more.

Randy, Glad you had a good thanksgiving, it does get easier.

RS, The cab does sound like fun and an outlet for your talent.

Bup, Glad the running is over, prayers sent for your injury. You have quoted my mom, "Getting old ain't for sissys"

Have a great day. Ed

36 degrees, bacon sizzling in the pan, Sunday morning.

Am going Christmas shopping this afternoon. Going to look at a Farmall Super A this afternoon. All set up for cultivating, like my neighbor's, our favorite Drunken Farmer,
and am thinking of giving it to him for Christmas. His doesn't work, even after I got him a nice new red and white seat cushion for it.
Cushion will look nice on new tractor....
Not for me. I'm done. I promise....:D

Guy who owns it lives on a farm and google mapping it looks like all sheds. Good, it was shedded. Ad says it was renovated 20 years ago and while not perfect runs great. And no smoke at all from exhaust. It's the clutch and rockshaft I'm most concerned about. This is not a 3pt hitch tractor, useless for me except as a dedicated row crop weeder and hiller. I'd rather use my own smaller implement.
So I'm off to meet Billy the Super A farmer. I'm sure he has a lot of other newer tractors in those sheds. But his place looked neat and organized and that is always a good sign. Older fellow by the phone call.

As I just burned a piece of bacon, am thinking that burned piece is probably the most unhealthy thing I could eat.
Unfortunately I like crispy things...
I'll break off the worst parts, a nitrosamine special.

Up early, not planned, but let the dogs out, and don't want to go back to bed. Going go work on deck project at my wife's shop, should get most of it wrapped up today. Going to be cold, but no rain or snow, so its doable!

Drew, giving your neighbor a tractor is very generous.

Drove by the new Duluth Trading Store other day. They have a Farmall Cultivision A in the front window. Painted GRAY.
My Dad had one when I was a teenager. Made gas money doing odd jobs with it around the neighborhood.
Remember it’s not a Farmall if steering wheel does not have that Farmall smell.

Thanks Irv. It's really cheap and super old school, like him...
Toppop and I are having lunch next Sunday in Pocomoke MD,
as I head North on a trip to see my sister in NJ.

Farmall Super A - farm & garden - by owner - sale
thankfully it's not grey......
going to take my rubber mat and lay that down so I can crawl under there and check for leaks.
Then if the steering isn't too sloppy, the clutch engages properly, the fluids have nothing odd in them, and the
implements go up and down, well we shall see. I'd really like to drop the implements into the dirt and put a load on that clutch.

35 going to 53. Clouds and contrails.

Buppies, hope you get well and stay that way!

Drew, hope that tractor is a winner.

Are Duluth Trading products really good? They seem to have begun a good bit of advertising on TV. Speaking of the gray Farmall, does anyone watch Classic Tractor Fever on RFD TV? Had a good show on recently that showed many odd colors that the major manufacturers had painted their tractors at the factory...one was supposed to be the only factory white John Deere...turns out it was due to specs from the town of Sanford, NC where their ordinance said that all city vehicles had to be white...they paid a $300 surcharge to get it that way back in the 70s, I think. Probably the opposite result of what the ordinance was supposed to produce. The show had several other rare paint colors from the other manufacturers, like Oliver.

RS, you continue to impress with your skills...keep it up and you might tempt me to get a welder. NE Ohio is a long way to go for lessons, though :). We took the kids up to Cedar Point, Bass Island by boat, Dayton's Air Force museum, and the Cincinnati Reds game and zoo one year...great trip...long drive home in one day.

We are back to normal, wife, dog and me...all other family and dogs have gone back home. We had a nice anniversary dinner last night at a seafood place on Lake Anna we had admired but never gone to eat...not very close to where we live, but nothing is.

34 and snowing a bit right now. Might be an eighth of an inch or so...nothing on the walks, drive or road. Temperature is going to remain in the mid-30's.

No particular chores today....we'll take the day as it comes.

RS that what I wrote came out wrong late I guess my apologies. I was trying to refer to my carelessness

33 high of 53 later today wind last night put more leaves on the ground

RS I do not know if you remember or not but I worked in steel fabrication for 29 years. Never went to welding school but was trained by some pretty good guys

Drew you are going to need a museum before you are done, kinda like me and cars I guess the more the merrier.

34* this morning it was 58* yesterday. Today going back to the mid 50's with some sun and wind. They are saying that there might be a chance of snow tomorrow night.
We haven't gotten the snow like the past few years. Some of the ski resorts in Utah don't have enough snow to open and it's been to warm to make it. It's been the warmest winter I seen here.

Helped the neighbor again yesterday. We make a wood rack for his deck.

Don't have anything planned for today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 8:00 AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High around 60F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near an inch. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

It was mostly overcast yesterday, but the clouds parted at the end of the day and there was a very nice sunset. Drained the oil and reset the valves on the R100RT touring bike before that, and found a clogged overflow tube in one of the carburetors. Also checked the enrichener and pilot jets, hoping to clear up a rough idle problem, but I'm beginning to think that's probably a side effect of the cam swap. Gathered up some wood and enjoyed a few fingers of Bourbon by the campfire, watching the sun colors paint the sky 'till dark.

I purchased some lightweight shorts last summer from Duluth Trading, and I liked the fit and build quality. They do breathe well, and are cooler than cut-off jeans, especially after being soaked with sweat. My first order with them didn't go so well, though, as the sizing was off and some of their sale items didn't work as advertisedl. I wasn't so pleased that I had to pay for return shipping, but at least they provided the mailing label.

I've never seen the scale cleaned off hot rolled steel in the farm implements I've reconditioned, RS. No primer, either. I've never removed mill scale down to bright metal, but I have scuffed it up before painting. And just like the big boys, no primer, either. Seems to be hold up OK though.

Fresh oil for the touring bike today, then I'll start scrubbing engine and transmission cases on the old BMW. I use an aluminum window cleaner with a healthy percentage of phosphoric acid, with a very fine wire stainless steel brush, and they come out looking almost new.

Yesterday's hope for a replacement transmission part was a no-go; he had the newer design and this bike takes the older one. And another friend I tried didn't have one, either. He thinks he may have a nice chromed fender stay, but he'll have to find it to be sure. So I'll do some looking on e-bay later and see what turns up. Hate to spend almost two hundred bux on a part that will get so little use, but whatever it takes I guess...

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!
