Buppies, sorry you feel poorly, that sure doesn't sound like much fun.
Farmer, there you are! We've missed you.

bags packed, headed downstairs for a cup of coffee and piece of pumpkin pie.
marvelous way to start the day, then headed home.

Good morning. We had a touch of frost first thing, however the day is now shaping up to be about as good as it ever gets for this time of year.

Bups, sounds like you got it bad. Perhaps this picture will help take your mind off the rumbling for a minute - look close and you may be able to make out where fish are rising to bits of bread I had thrown in.

Good Morning all.

Temp is 29 and supposed to go to 43 with periods of snow or rain. Wind SSE 8 mph.

We had chicken yesterday, mainly because we did the 'turkey day' back in October. Canadian Thanksgiving.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes but, ya know, honesty is the best policy and I must come clean. I feel I have misled you guys to think that my birthday was recently. It was not. September 15th is my b'day, but I am usually in Thunder Bay District for it.
This year was a total surprise, last year, my 70th a buddy and I went out to supper (he bought). This year he got me the coffee mug, which by the way holds almost a quart of coffee in one go.

I hope everybody has recovered from yesterdays' pig out and can get back to normal.

Have a good day.

34 right now...high in the low 40's.
We had a great Thanksgiving...as I'd written yesterday, no turkey for us, but the veggies (mostly raw and we dipped them) were great, as was the ham and roast beef. Well, I didn't have any roast beef myself, but the wife, step daughter and PT boyfriend enjoyed it.
My truck is in the shop for some scheduled maintenance that was supposed to have been done Wednesday. I have a Corolla rental. I was promised the truck will be done today, and I hope it is! I need to get a couple gallons of gas to fill the mower to complete winterizing it, and I'd like to get another 5 gallons of diesel. Can't haul that in the little Corolla...

Probably put a few mags through the .22's today (using the suppressor). I'd also like to see how well the electronic sound attenuators (muffs) work, so I'll put sound rounds through without the suppressor, or take a larger caliber pistol with me.

Made it back from Black Friday shopping with no scratches. Got the batteries From HD that was on list. Saw a 46” roll around tool chest for $200. Bought that also. Kind young man and his wife helped me put it on cart and in car. Went by Menards. Parking lot was full. Kept driving home. That tool chest is heavy. Over 200 lbs with nothing in it. Used pallet forks on tractor to get it out of car. Wife’s and my list will have to be completed on internet.

David, We did away with pumpkin pie years ago soon after I got my wife to make a sweet potato pie. We like it much better.

When I went to Walmart to get a Pumpkin pie. The shelves were full of sweet potato pies. Had to look for what was left of the pumpkin pies. May be sale on Sweet Potato pies today.

It is 42* this morning the warmest it's been a long time. The high yesterday was 60*. Today is going to be partly cloudy with a chance of a shower in the afternoon. The winds will be in the 20-30 mph range. It might make it back in to the 60's

Yesterday was nice. Didn't do much and didn't over eat.
Going to help the neighbor move some of his stuff around so he can get to some siding for his deck. Not much else planned.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Fall garden question. I have a Roma tomato plant that has huge green tomatoes on it, and they just don't seem to want to ripen. Should I pick them and put them in the window sill? Or leave them on there and keep covering them during cold spells???

Welcome back Farmer. Lots of catching up when you take off a few days. Hope you can find a better helper.

Bupps, hope you are get better soon.

Eric, nice serene photo.

Wngsprd, sorry about your event filled morning. Not sure which item was the worst, but maybe steppin' in the pooh was up there. Hopefully you don't have cream colored carpet for the blood stains. Use cold water on blood.

Same here Ron, prefer pumpkin, but will also eat sweet potato pie too. Tell Betty howdy from Texas.

The tractor tire is holding air......so far.... I might tire you guys out just posting about my tiredness of fixing that darn tire.... :)

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 7:00AM. Partly cloudy. High 67F. Winds light and variable.

Hope youæ±*e feeling much better real soon, Buppies! Thanksgiving time is no time to have a stomach bug!

I admire your ambition, RS! I壇 love to follow along if you start a build thread on that cab.

Sounds like you had an eventful TG, Wng. Hope the stains came out OK and that the boxer hasn稚 been banned from the house.

Sounds like the rest of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Lots to be thankful for if we just take a minute to ponder.

I知 visiting with the friends and family of my buddy that has pancreatic cancer. I hadn稚 seen him for three or four months, and he痴 lost a LOT of weight, enough to remind me of Steve Jobs during is last public appearances. Just can稚 seem to eat enough with digestive problems associated with the cancer. And he痴 now on pain meds, and isn稚 quite the same. Big changes, and none of them good. But he was in good spirits, and very much enjoyed seeing everyone again, and that痴 the important part.

Yesterday started off well enough, but when I pulled the truck around in front of the garage to check the tires, I noticed what turned out to be Diesel fuel dripping down from the engine. I壇 been chasing a fuel leak on it for a while, so I should be thankful that it was finally bad enough to see where it was coming from. Not thankful for the timing, however, as I had no intent on burning it up on the way down here, so used one of the motorcycles instead. Couldn稚 bring as much food as I壇 wanted, but it all worked out. It was fun tossing the salad in a kitchen full of busy women for a change. And moving furniture outside to make room for the long table everyone (some forty of us) sat around. The turkeys came off the Weber BBQs about 3, so it was an early and very delicious dinner. The dessert table held over a dozen pies this year, and a few other tasty desserts as well. I came away comfortably full, having sampled a little bit of everything. The best was the smoky flavor of the very tender turkey, though.

After nightfall we had a bonfire, and since it had been raining earlier in the week it didn稚 want to burn very well. I asked my hose if he had a leaf blower, he said 土es? and I brought it down from the garage. Lots of 登oos and 殿aahs as the flames leapt higher and higher casting sparks high into the sky. Hosts were very happy to have their brush pile burned, and everyone loved the warmth on a damp chilly night.

Beautiful blue sky outside the 斗avender room where I slept last night. Renee, John痴 wife, grows lavender and processes it into essential oil, soap, and other lavender scented items, which she sells at the local farmer痴 market. I致e been here long enough I don稚 smell it much, but I bet when I go back to the house in a few:laughing: minutes I値l get a few funny looks.

I was told by others that had slept here that I would have good, if not vivid, dreams, but I didn稚 sleep well thinking about John痴 health, then about the broken truck. I can稚 do much to help John, but I did find a tutorial about rebuilding the fuel filter housing that痴 leaking, and a link to a rebuild kit, so I致e already done some Black Friday shopping. Hopefully it痴 delivered early next week, as I don稚 have any four wheeled transport at this point.

After breakfast, I was going to meet another friend a bit south of here to do some wine tasting, but with no way to get any of it home I decided to call it off. Nice day for a motorcycle ride, though, so the cranky truck actually worked out pretty well.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the long holiday weekend!

Sorry for all the funny punctuation in the last post. I’m using an iPad this morning, and for some reason it’s spitting out funny apostrophes. ‘ ‘ ‘

Also having a lot of trouble poking the screen to move the cursor around, selecting text, and fighting with the spell checker. I need more practice, kind of like David and his ukulele. I hope there’s enough hope for both of us! Oops, there goes that wacky apostrophe again!

Or maybe not!:confused2:
