Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 7:00AM. Partly cloudy. High 67F. Winds light and variable.
Hope youæ±*e feeling much better real soon, Buppies! Thanksgiving time is no time to have a stomach bug!
I admire your ambition, RS! I壇 love to follow along if you start a build thread on that cab.
Sounds like you had an eventful TG, Wng. Hope the stains came out OK and that the boxer hasn稚 been banned from the house.
Sounds like the rest of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Lots to be thankful for if we just take a minute to ponder.
I知 visiting with the friends and family of my buddy that has pancreatic cancer. I hadn稚 seen him for three or four months, and he痴 lost a LOT of weight, enough to remind me of Steve Jobs during is last public appearances. Just can稚 seem to eat enough with digestive problems associated with the cancer. And he痴 now on pain meds, and isn稚 quite the same. Big changes, and none of them good. But he was in good spirits, and very much enjoyed seeing everyone again, and that痴 the important part.
Yesterday started off well enough, but when I pulled the truck around in front of the garage to check the tires, I noticed what turned out to be Diesel fuel dripping down from the engine. I壇 been chasing a fuel leak on it for a while, so I should be thankful that it was finally bad enough to see where it was coming from. Not thankful for the timing, however, as I had no intent on burning it up on the way down here, so used one of the motorcycles instead. Couldn稚 bring as much food as I壇 wanted, but it all worked out. It was fun tossing the salad in a kitchen full of busy women for a change. And moving furniture outside to make room for the long table everyone (some forty of us) sat around. The turkeys came off the Weber BBQs about 3, so it was an early and very delicious dinner. The dessert table held over a dozen pies this year, and a few other tasty desserts as well. I came away comfortably full, having sampled a little bit of everything. The best was the smoky flavor of the very tender turkey, though.
After nightfall we had a bonfire, and since it had been raining earlier in the week it didn稚 want to burn very well. I asked my hose if he had a leaf blower, he said 土es? and I brought it down from the garage. Lots of 登oos and 殿aahs as the flames leapt higher and higher casting sparks high into the sky. Hosts were very happy to have their brush pile burned, and everyone loved the warmth on a damp chilly night.
Beautiful blue sky outside the 斗avender room where I slept last night. Renee, John痴 wife, grows lavender and processes it into essential oil, soap, and other lavender scented items, which she sells at the local farmer痴 market. I致e been here long enough I don稚 smell it much, but I bet when I go back to the house in a few:laughing: minutes I値l get a few funny looks.
I was told by others that had slept here that I would have good, if not vivid, dreams, but I didn稚 sleep well thinking about John痴 health, then about the broken truck. I can稚 do much to help John, but I did find a tutorial about rebuilding the fuel filter housing that痴 leaking, and a link to a rebuild kit, so I致e already done some Black Friday shopping. Hopefully it痴 delivered early next week, as I don稚 have any four wheeled transport at this point.
After breakfast, I was going to meet another friend a bit south of here to do some wine tasting, but with no way to get any of it home I decided to call it off. Nice day for a motorcycle ride, though, so the cranky truck actually worked out pretty well.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the long holiday weekend!
