Good morning!!!!

34 here tonight after a chilly high of 48.

Boy a lot has happened since I’ve been gone. Whipper came home. Randy lost his wife. Sorry to here that Randy but glad you’re doing well. Drew bought a new mower. Kyle got that pesky tire leak fixed. It took a couple of days to get through almost 200 post.

Last Saturday 11/18/17. We had a severe thunderstorm come through and set an EF1 down about 4 miles from house. 2nd tornado in less than 2 years less than 10 miles from me. First one hit dads farm only doing fence and tree damage there. This one collapsed buildings at the local lumber manufacturer, hit the post office and did some damage to homes and out buildings. Only a severe thunderstorm warning no tornado warning. Only 1 minor injury when a lady that was moving into a new home was caught outside and hit by debris.

Birds come back this next week so I’m getting things ready for that. Helpers last day is tomorrow. We’ll just call it a mutual split. I was going to fire him yesterday when he text that tomorrow will be his last day before starting a new job. Good riddance to him.

Did half of our thanksgivings today. Other half is Saturday. 2 each day.

Been working on new pens for cattle. Cows have grass still but fences are down for pen builds. So trying to get them back up to delay hay feeding. Already supplementing some hay till then. Wheat pastures this year were a failure. Too wet of a fall to work ground so I just broadcasted seed and it has yet to germinate. So will take more hay which I have and cows will be on hay by Christmas. Which is ok. Still have fall bush hogging to do and the final mowing of the year.

Good to see everyone is doing well.

Glad to hear from you farmer.

28 here for insane amount of food. Except desserts were a bit light. No one brought a pumpkin pie. Wife says this may be her first Thanksgiving without one. Somehow I suspect she intends to rectify that situation tomorrow
Good thing we had a smaller crowd as the heaven opened up about 30 seconds after we started to eat and everyone stayed inside.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 26° with some clear skies this morning. Heading to 50° with mostly sunny skies. Spent lots of time on Face-time and Facebook messenger visiting with family and friends yesterday. Ate to much for dinner. Having pumpkin pie for breakfast that I was to full to eat yesterday. Wife made a list of things for me to go shopping for at Menads and HD. Then headed to Rural King for a few things for me.
Had discussion with wife about Christmas decorations. Not putting up much. We will see about that.
Buckeye, great picture.
Good Morning All.

Good morning! 51˚ going to be a sunny day high of 72˚.
We would have been heading to my niece's house for Thanksgiving today but they have the flu and canceled last night at 10PM.

The newest tender growth of the potatoes was a little damaged yesterday by the 35˚ temp but I think they will survive.

I'm up early enough I guess I could go shopping (NOT!) - Happy Black Friday!

Farmer glad you got caught up.

Good morning all, 25 and headed to 53 and sunny today. Had a great lunch yesterday and no dinner, to full. Did my black Friday shopping on line yesterday. Got a couple Kreg saw guides for cutting plywood. Normal cost over $120, got them for $53 at Home Depot online. Going to put up the tree today and a tiny tree for mom's room. Not my favorite job but hope to make it fun.

David, We did away with pumpkin pie years ago soon after I got my wife to make a sweet potato pie. We like it much better.

Farmer, Glad to have you back home.

Bup, Glad you are feeling better, was thinking yesterday. Wished you lived closer, we had plenty.

Thankful for you guys Ed

25 and lots of stars, going to 55.

Buppies, hope you are feeling better.

Farmer, good to read your update.

Had a great Thanksgiving, but started with a few problems. Woke up early, as usual, and the house was in the upper 50s...geothermal system blowing only cool air...so switched off and on the circuit breakers on the system, and on the auxiliary heat strips inside the system...no change...so went on to building a fire in the woodstove, and off to taking the dogs out.

What I didn't know was after I went to bed, my son's boxer had somehow pulled a toe nail out and bled all over the floor...so was bandaged...but the bandage came off while we were outside, and once again, she bled all over the floor when we came in...each footstep leaving a red track. Then my wife got up, and we cleaned up, only for her to go outside and step in the boxer's poop. More clean up. All this while my son slept. Later in the day, I remembered that the geothermal system electronics/zone controller was a separate circuit, so I rebooted that, and the system appears to be working well.

My oldest son had given me a turkey fryer for Christmas last year, so we decided to give it a try. It was a bit stubborn going together, with some tight clearances and missing step in the instructions, but got it assembled, and sitting level. You know how frustrating some of the newer safety features are on tractors and lawnmowers, like when the engine cuts off if you get off the seat? Well this fryer has a timer that cuts off the LP gas after 12 minutes unless you remember to turn the dial...it seemed to me that it was more dangerous trying to relight the dang thing after timing out than just leaving it run...but most of the horror stories you've heard are from people walking away while it's cooking, and it overheating, or getting knocked over, so therefore a safety timer.

We only had 7 of us at the table, but it was unanimous that this was the best tasting turkey anyone had ever eaten...beginner's luck. My wife made the best sweet potatoes ever...her "secret" was to add tangerine juice...and she made a gluten free pumpkin pie...since she's about the only one who eats it. My DIL made something she called pineapple casserole...very good.
