Don, I told my wife about the air fryer okra you talked about a while back and she brought it up yesterday. Do you like it and if so what brand, ect. Thanks.

Ed, it is a Cooks Essentials air fryer. It is the larger one I think a 5.3 qt. So far it is working good. The only problem I have with it is that you have to make sure the slide out drawer is lined up correctly or the machine will not cut on. Of course we only use it for vegetables. It excels with no oil french fries in 10 minutes. Okra comes out good and my wife also makes green beans. The green beans turn out a bit chewy for me but she likes them. Corn taco shells turn out good in them - when the air hits them they fly around and it makes them have that nice taco bend. It roast peppers well. For broccoli the ends burn a bit before the stalks are done. The heat for brussels sprouts is too hot and usually burns the outsides. It is a big thing on the counter and my wife thinks maybe a good convection toaster oven would do the same. So I guess mixed reviews but excels in no oil french fries. We use ours about 5 days a week.

Good morning! A bit cooler this morning at 64˚. Clear skies heading to the high 80s.
I have never planted Fall potatoes .... until now. I will see if we get a crop before the frost hits.
Wife's alligator niece really really wanted us to have a fall party at our place, so that will be the next project to prepare for. We missed the usual July family get-together due to the needs of my parents.

Good Morning!!!! 69 F @ 5:00 AM. 0% Precip. / 0.00 in. Sunny. High 86F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Valley Fastener had the bolts I needed for the transmission tool, and the fun lady behind the counter livens up each visit. How she finds anything in that cavernous warehouse I'll never know, but I'm sure glad she does...

Water and oil pumps have been installed on the VW engine, but not much progress beyond that. Mechanic sez that both the exhaust system and transaxle have been shipped and should be in next week. And also that he'll be installing the engine wiring harness today. So some progress, but as usual, not what I'd hoped.

Another structure fire a few miles north of here overnight, but firefighters were right on it and confined it to a half acre. With humidity down around 20% and breezy winds, it doesn't take much for a fire to take off into the woods. Another Fire Weather Watch goes into effect Sunday morning, with single digit humidity and gusts going to 40 MPH.

TGIF!:drink:

Something ate the in ground yellow jackets nest nice hole in the yard no sign of bees. Numerous bee nests in the ground mild snowless winter. We shall see
Often, it is a skunk that will eat them.

Very beautiful moon last night.

Wednesday evening, we had a church youth night at the local small skating rink. I was given a pair of skates and the right skate had a mind of it's own to veer off hard to starboard. Well, on the 2nd lap I was trying to get used to it and I wiped out, hitting the concrete floor and cinder block wall in that order. OUCH. A big thud. Anyways, I got back up and rolled to the sidelines and was seeing stars for a few seconds. Sat down, took inventory, got a different right skate, put it on and got back out there to show those kids how to do it. I prefer roller blades over skates any day. I need some new roller blades...Needless to say I'm still a bit sore today.

Dark thirty here,
Waiting for the sun to do it's business
"Steaming away the morning's dew".
The yard is high, and so is my pain,
But the grass doesn't care,
It just keeps laughing away at my procrastination.

Ibuprofen is my friend.

Praying for those in the path of this new TS. They say the strength will be determined by if it hits the tip of the Yucatan or not.

68°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 82° again today. Weather man on the radio this morning noted that we've been about 10° above average for this time of year.

Carpenter finished closing the remaining walls and ceilings in the basement yesterday, and splatter textured the walls in the studio. He'll finish texturing the workout/quilter room today, as well as mount the interior doors. Looks like we'll be painting by next week. Progress!

Drew, one of my former neighbors was the mayor of the little town I lived in before I got married. He's of Spanish decent, and has a huge Paella party every year at his place.

68F, wet ground, overcast, with a 70% chance of intermittent light rain.

Haven't had nearly enough to make up for the deficit, but at least it's keeping the dust down. Supposed to be usually hot tomorrow (high near 90F) then cooler (70's), next shot at rain will be Mon - Wed.

Probably spend some of the day today doing fish tank maintenance. Will require imprisoning The Squeak unless I want her "helping" ...

Did some errands this afternoon and checked out the truck for the trip Sat. Not looking forward to going to the hot humid side of the blue ridge, but am looking forward to having mom here with us.
Wife was out 3 or 4 times last night and this morning taking pics of the moon, very pretty.

Kyle, ouch, hope you feel better soon.

Don, thanks, that gives us something to think about. We have a convection toaster oven.

Have a great night. Ed

87 today currently 68. Rain coming in from Nate this weekend.

Trying to locate a bull. Sold mine in the spring and just now getting serious about finding one. Think I've located a 14 month old black Gelbvieh. If he can pass a veterinarian exam.

This showed up today also. IMG_1275.JPG

2016 model. Could have bought a 2017 cheaper but I couldn't get the deck I wanted. They changed to a lighter deck.

I'm a failure as a French Canadian. I can't skate at all. Maybe that's why my ancestors ended up here, no hockey genes!! :)

Good evening all. 71F for the low, partly cloudy, calm wind. wind picked up about 10, sky cleared off and high temp was 88F. Went for bike ride this morning, then to town for errands/shopping and lunch. Came home took a nap, then not enough time to get into trouble :D
Drew the seat bottom was a thin piece of plywood, the rot was from the back forward. the front overhang was the only part left.

Good morning. Showers again last night and a few more due this moring. Can't remember the last time it was fully dry outside, it must be several months now since we went more than an occasional day without rain.

Not heard much about pure bred Gelbvieh cattle, though I do remember reading about an article on Balancers which came from Gelbvieh and Angus. It claimed they were a good choice for those wanting moderate sized cattle with a much better temperament than some of the larger breeds. Hope he gets the all clear from the vet.

Warmer 71 going to 80 today, with showers possible this afternoon.
Once guests leave, I'm headed out to water all day.
We moved two trees I had planted too close to the power lines, and yesterday the soil was bone dry digging.
The water wagon rides again.
Then I'm headed to the strawberry patch with a clipper and that mess of green is going to get a haircut.
I only planted about 10 plants but my do they grow and move around. If I did nothing in about three months they would take over the whole
garden the way they are sending out runners. I still get a nice strawberry every day or two if I hunt around.

Ram dealer called late yesterday, truck is ready to pick up. Took the hemi heads off and replaced all the hydraulic lifters on one side. Totally under warranty but out of truck for a week.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Coffee is done brewing. 63° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 81° with slight chance of sun peaking out between clouds. We must of got a direct hit from all the rain that passed thru area yesterday. .85". Closest weather station near us got .23". With little sun it may be a good day to wash windows. I did not do a good enough job after washing house siding.
Kyle, hope you feel better today.
Ed, we got a Air Fryer a couple of months ago from Sam's Club. Works very well on many different foods. Wife uses recipes she finds on Pinterest. We had pork chops done in it yesterday. Very tasty. Not sure if you are on a special diet like Don. But it cooks more than vegetables. Wife likes it because the controls are easy to understand and use.
Good Morning All.

Good Morning, all!
50F here this fine morning and we are at our high for the day. The forecast is for rain showers.
I sure hope not. Got work to do outside that requires the use of electricity.
As soon as I got home yesterday, I got the Kioti out and spread the 18 tons of gravel that has been waiting for me all summer. Now if the rest of the 6 load order will get delivered, then I can get one project out of the way.
