Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. 59 this morning going to 83 and mostly sunny. Went and got a prepaid burial plan for my mom yesterday. Now no matter what happens the gov can't take that $$$ from her, unless they change the rules. Today I feel like taking a nap but will try to get the door cut into the new pantry instead, or maybe I'll do both. We shop at Martins grocery store. It is a chain here that is a part of Giant foods. Buppies, I hate going into Walmart and avoid it as much as I can. We had a food coop in Harrisonburg and they had prices that were way high. Walked through it twice.

Ron My day would not be the same if you quit coffee. It is like your coffee is a part of my day. It's the only coffee I have had in years. :D

Mostly, The wind was brick and gusty. What is brick? a misprint or a term I don't know.

Have a great day. Ed

One of the things I always found at good prices in Walmart was motor oil, particularly Mobil 1, for many years. Now I find good deals in Tractor Supply, and in fact, with my new ten percent off coupon, I'm headed to TSC today to stock up on motor oil. It's the first store I get to going into town, how convenient.
Mostly synthetic 10/30, 5/30 for the Generac gen, and 15/40 for the tractors.
Saw I was getting a little low on 10/30. 24 motors to maintain. Just thankful the old straight weight oils aren't needed.
I do a fair amount of oiling out of a big hand oiler, like the trainmen but smaller, and that's where I use up the old
sizes, particularly the straight 40 weight. Not much uses that anymore that isn't pretty old.
I have about a hundred lifetimes worth of oil with nowhere to go, using my hand oiler.

I have one of those in law jobs today, my son in law's father needs a molding put on the door of his Denali. It's very complicated, clean, apply two sided tape, attach molding. :D

Another pretty summer day, last one of 2017, mid 60's to mid 80's.

Good morning! 72˚ foggy. Yea, First day of Fall.
Planted my garden yesterday and then I realized I forgot about the potatoes. I'll have to take the last of the watermelons out to plant them.
The tents are back up for the FF. We will finish off the last details next week.

Mom Actually did some hoeing in her garden with walker and chair and the promptly broke the hoe. I just made the handle shorter and it's ready to go again.

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:15AM. 10% Precip. / 0.00 in. Mostly Sunny. High 69F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Radar sez it's snowing in the mountains east of here. And yesterday it snowed on the road that goes through Lassen National Volcanic Park, up over the mountain to some 8000 feet of elevation. I rode a motorcycle over that road last Friday, maybe the last chance to do that for the year. Several mountain passes over the Sierra Nevada are also closed, roads that I also enjoyed over the past few weeks. Nothing like going straight from 100F+ temps and cloudless skies to snow deep enough to close the roads in the space of a week. So much for leaf peeping this year. Just another sign of the approaching apocalypse I suppose.

Fingers crossed for good fish fry weather, Don. And good to hear your Mom is feeling well enough to get out in her garden again!

Went to the local BMW dealer to get some more photos of the old /2 the have on display, but the saddle on my bike was different and that's one thing I had questions about. Grandson of the now departed owner took me back into a warehouse building that was just chock full of bookcase size shelves loaded with old motorcycle parts, all well organized but none of them labeled. And several elevated platforms with old motorcycles in various states of restoration, all projects left by the old man. I did find something to take pictures of that I think will get me going, but the grandson and his grandmother are pretty overwhelmed with the size of grandpa's collection and with trying to figure out what to do with it. Rows of frames, stacks of wheel hubs, shelves full of heads, cases, and barrels of oil filled with cranks and rods. A real Aladdin's cave for someone into old BMWs.

Yet another disappointing day at the mechanic's, where almost nothing had been done since my last visit three weeks ago. Told him if I don't see significant progress next week, it's trailer time and he's getting stuck with the motor...

TGIF!:drink:

RNG, that warehouse sounds wonderful, the proverbial treasure trove.

Had to race to get Massey out to end of road for pickup, guy came super early, should have known, he's a farmer on the side,
and while I had the tractor out there I was on my way back with the Kubota and a pallet of weights he had to take, when I saw he was already out there.
Worked out perfectly, lifted pallet right to end of his pickup truck and he was very relieved,
said my timing was perfect. Well....
So back to barn and put on grapple and having some breakfast before I go cut down an ugly tree behind my house.
And hopefully plant a pretty one in its dying place.

Toppop, I have memories of first gen side moldings drooping off cars in the 70's and 80's, all kinds of cars, Dodge caravans, sedans.
You must have put a lot of them back on with better glue.

Typical fall morning - cool, damp - looking like more rain. The fortunate aspect - no smoke, ash or crud.

The low this morning was 35*, yesterday's high was 70*. Today's is going be in the mid 50's overcast with a chance of rain.

Wish I could send the cooler temperatures to everyone who wants them. I would be more then glad to do it.

Work on the heater for the side by side yesterday. Got everything hooked up and ready to see how well it would work. It blows a lot of cold air. Did everything it said to do to get the air out of the system 3 or 4 times. Not sure what's going on. I'll work on it some more today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

65°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 95° today. Potential record breakers every day right now, so they say. We missed our record yesterday, as some afternoon clouds kept it to 92°

Black Walnuts are starting to fall with regularity now. Pecans have been trickling down for the last week or so. Need to keep a closer eye on that shagbark hickory this year, and see if we can get more than 10 nuts.

Have a great weekend, gents.

Saw the Doobie Brothers in concert last night. They still sound good. Back still hurts, probably shouldn't have gone, but had the tickets.

67°F and .18 inches rain

Got my 1st flush pipes cleaned out and replaced my first stage water filter to catchment tanks. This filter is a home made contraption consisting of a plastic filter insert, 5 gallon nylon paint strainer, and panty hose housed in 4 inch pvc. Should have taken a pic. Amazing what this captures after the 1st flush but before the water goes to the storage take. I have 2 others to clean and replace and will try to remember to get pics.

Off to town for breakfast and errands. One of those being HD for more 5 gal strainers.

Be safe
Have a great day

I saw the Doobies in the early seventies, through the haze between us and the stage, there were many "Doobie bros" that night!

Eric, Nantwich looks like a wonderful story book village...hope you get to return when nearby they have the "worm charming" championship so you can tell us about it.

Cut more firewood logs this morning...getting lots of workout of my grapple this week...and workout of my my legs and back carrying them a long ways through the woods. Also used the grapple to move some homemade picket fence sections I made from old cypress flooring boards...have used them some years to surround the garden.

Don, nice to hear your mom is back in the garden.

Glad the air is better. Are the Cascade fires getting under better control and reducing in size any?

Good evening all. 74F this morning, overcast the cleared quickly and windy. Winds slowed a bir during the day, sky bcame clear and high temp was 91F. We have a slow cooling trend though early next week with a cold front moving though, bringing rain, :dance1: and temps will go from above normal to below normal, high in the mid to upper 70's. :drink: . Bike ride this morning, and worked on boat seat, I think I have the seat board close to what it was, have a few holes to locate and frill. Then I need to work out reassembly, the seat has a plastic lip that part of the seat foam is glued to in the way, and the seat covering has 2 internal flaps that get stapled to the wood prior to stapling the periphery to the wood.

Good morning. We are starting off with a clear sky again and for once, if the forecast turns out correct, we wil have an entire day without rain. Seems a shame to waste such a rare event with a paint brush in hand. At least the heavy dew is giving me a good excuse for putting it off for a while.

Wng, I gather you have discovered what some of the good people of Willaston consider the highlight of entertainment for the year.:)

As a kid I was fishing mad and once went through a phase of catching worms at night for bait. Worm stalking ( catching them on the surface of a damp lawn by moonlight, or with a next to flat battery in a torch) became almost a sport in it's own right. Who else can admit to things they would probably never have done if video games had been around sooner ?

Up way too early!

47 right now...heading to the mid-80's today.
No particular plans other then the usual weekend chores of mowing and trimming.

Good morning! 69˚
RNG the forecast is calling for a low of 60˚ and a high of only 79˚ - it will be a winter wonder day! We may have to fire up a brush pile for warmth.

We had overcast skies yesterday a good part of the day. I should have mowed the yard, as some of my neighbors did, but I went to see my eye doctor early yesterday morning, and don't really like to get out much after they dilate my eyes. So I reckon about daylight, or a little before (the Ego mower has headlights), I'll mow today. 73 degrees going for 93 today.
