Interesting stuff, Don. I just might have to look at getting one.

What sort of working time do you get per battery charge with the EGO trimmer?

Expected it to be dry today, then sneaky showers came along and damped those expectations, so it's likely to be a day better suited to playing inside.

Sorry to hear about your friend Ron, it must have been hard for him to make that call to you too, your friendship must mean a lot to him.

Haven't even pulled the PC out of the box (except to check for damage). I'll take your comments under advisement

I must have been mostly asleep when I posted. You need to right click on windows Icon then click on desktop. My Windows 10 computer does not have a touch screen.

good morning all, good evening Eric.

thought it was going to be a dry day but now showers in forecast for this afternoon.
So far weather forecast shows no impact of offshore hurricane on Tuesday. That might change.
And more trains coming into the hurricane station it seems.

Ed many more birthdays to come.

Turns out the special ordered gloss cherry red paint I ordered from Rustoleum to do my Gravely deck is the wrong color. I got cherry red and not gloss cherry, seems to be quite a difference. Way too dark with brown in it instead of orange. Need to double check the paint codes.
It's funny looking out at all my machinery, all those different shades of red and orange. The greens and blues are easy, no blues here, but geez the Kubotas and Kiotis and even the old Gravely reds all have different amounts of orange. I don't have a Kioti but Kubota salesmen said Kubota had sued Kioti multiple times due to paint color, too close to theirs.

I'm either going to buy a couple cases of rattle can Gravely red for over a hundred bucks or I'm going to get paint made, likely PPG, to match the color better. But that latter entails buying spray painting equipment and I'm still shying away from that. Wish I had RNG's experience. I'm pretty good with a rattle can but the paint is the issue, often seems thin.
If it rains this afternoon I may be down in the barn hand sanding all this primered equipment getting it ready for paint. A bit exciting to get this far, after starting seven years ago on this mower.

wild grape vines yielding beautiful fruit right now.
Rear annual flowers at their peak, planted them too close to each other, next year not so many,
but it did add some color to my "machinery" area of the house.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 55° with fog this morning. Heading to 83° with showers in the evening. Trip to son's home to celebrate granddaughter's 13th birthday. They sure grow up fast. Her birth was the first event we attended after I retired.
Thanks all for the comments and wishes for my friend. We meant him and his wife during our travels. They are from MI and return here every year. They stay in my back yard a week or 2 each summer while they visit family. Since they moved to NM we visit them during our travels.
Happy belated Birthday ED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Morning All.

64 going to 84.

Ed, happy birthday! Sounds like you did a nice thing for your mom on your birthday, and probably made your day even more special.

I spent most of the day in my recliner after going for a walk with Coco...my cold turned out to have a fever packed with it. Feeling better today.

Drew, I've never done spray painting of equipment, so don't know much, only spraying the house with an electric professional Graco, but you have an air compressor, I think...so maybe you could pick up the Harbor Freight spray gun for $27, or their electric one for $20.

Farmer, that's a great bean harvest! Enjoy. I bought an Echo battery string trimmer this summer so I wouldn't have to take the blade off my Stihl every time...I love it, but it is probably too heavy for your mom. The Ego units look good.

Billie shake that cold and feel better. it's that time of year to wash our hands even more, particularly after a trip involving lots of public door knobs and push carts.
I'm not a germ-a-phobe but it's remarkable how much washing your hands can help. I got trained on that thirty years ago by my closest friend who was a health inspector and
wound up head of the Teaneck NJ health dept. Also about how to disinfect your kitchen counter top and not just move the germs around.
I get sick about once every ten years, always from kids. Worth it...

that really is an amazing amount of beans Farmer. I hear the rumble of the Green Giant reefer semi coming in for a load...
my green beans this year were tough. I was hoping to grow several crops, a Fall crop, but somehow they are all tough now.
Old beans?...Even the small ones are tough. Steaming helps but the organic ones in the store are better.
We've had plenty of rain, a puzzle.
