64 right now....high in the low 80's today.

As I wrote yesterday, main task is to get my new PC hooked up and running. Most of the files I want to save have been copied to my 1.5Tb secondary drive (they used to call these "slave" drives, but I don't think that is applicable to SATA hard drives. As long as there is a bay in the new PC (supposed to be 3 open) and two SATA connectors on the mother board, shouldn't be a problem.
Most of my old applications from the XP PC will be reloaded to find out if they function. I did replace Office 2003 with Office 365...and I'll probably have to get a newer copy of Adobe Acrobat (not the Reader).

Before starting this project, I need to get a 90 degree grease fitting I had ordered last week, two AAA batteries for my nigh scope and, while I'm out, gasoline for the Z-turn.
I want to get these chores out of the way since, once I hook the new PC up, I expect I'll be fiddling around with it most of the day

Ron, I too, am at a loss for words in situations like that. I try to pray for cancer cures daily. Hope you can get some more talk time.

Good morning all. Just had a bowl of cereal. It's just me and the kids today. My wifey went to a conference. I'm taking the kids to a wedding today in San Antonio. Very near the Alamo. Not sure if we'll get in some sight seeing too.

Roy, if you can get a newer SSD drive, it will speed up a computer quite a bit.

Wngsprd, hauling 8' logs much distance by hand, especially on rough terrain....sounds like work! I need to split some wood here, but it is dead post oak. Half rotten. Not that good of wood, but we'll call it "free range" firewood for now. I wish I had a splitter for about 6 hours a year....but alas, I shall work on my "guns" with the maul.

It looks like Jose is going to mind his manners. But 2 more right behind him. The next one worries me. It looks like it may take the "low road" across the Antilles and below Puerto Rico into the Gulf of Texas. Pray that it turns north up the Atlantic too.

I need some coffee. I guess I'll have to make it myself.

Have a blessed day all.

The low was 29*, yesterday's high was 49*. We got rain for most of yesterday and a lite dusting of snow overnight. It's going back up to high 50's with sun and wind. Looks like me might get some more snow in the middle of the week.

Need to help a neighbor move some stuff around and fix a another neighbors fence today. Would like to get the doors back on the side by side some time today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

70°F and .10 inches rain

Got the front yard mowed yesterday.
Ordered new rear roller supports and bearings for my flail. Only needed one new bearing but decided to replace the pair. Screws are worn down to the mounting holes so might as well replace.

No big plans for the day just see what develops.

Be safe
Have a great day

Yeah, they're fast, but the drives I have now run pretty good...don't see a reason to replace them yet. That, plus I haven't seen any SSD drives 1 Terabyte or greater yet. Can't say I've looked for one though.

did oil changes and full lubes on two garden tractors, including finally getting the hard ones
on the universal drive. The JD has zerks, interestingly the older Gravely, also shaft drive,
uses sealed universals. Sprayed a lot of CRC lubricant everywhere, plus WD40. A grinding noise in JD mower
deck lift arms promptly disappeared. Poor thing was just dry...

Bird that sounds mighty good.

this thread is about to hit the 3.5 million view level.
remarkable

also remarkable is Bird's 40K count. That's a lot of wisdom...

a lite dusting of snow overnight.

oh my, here we go again.
But if you live in God's Country looking up at Rocky Mountain National Park, what's a little snow?

Geez, are we still allowed to say God's Country? It was of course the ultimate compliment.
Ok, Allah's Country too. And Buddha's. For sure some Reformed Protestants,
I guess let's include some unreformed ones too.
Of course, Unreformed Protestant Country doesn't have quite the same ring...

This stuff is the parts of the chicken that don't even make the cut to be made into the pink stuff that chicken nuggets are made of. A lot of feet, beaks, innards, etc . . . .

We should be living on the same street. We could work on the tractor together and put our mothers in a little house down the street and alternate taking them meals.

That would be nice, They could have fun together and we could work on your dad's tractors. :D Ed

Someone is going to have to teach me how to turn a pic 180˚ on an iPhone.

After debating back and forth I decided to go with the ancel BA101 battery tester. Got it today and did a test run on my Subaru
It failed the test. I thought I got a bad tester because I have no problems starting the car. I then went to check my truck and tractor battery and they passed. I realized the battery on the Subaru is 5 years old. Looks like it save me from being stranded, already paid for itself and I haven't even tested Dad's tractor battery - the only reason I bought it.

As you can tell the charge is OK but it failed the both load tests - the sitting in vehicle, and the cranking test. It did pass the charging test so the alternate and regulator are ok.

Ron, sorry to hear about your RV friend, and I pray hospice will keep him comfortable his last days.
