finished the welding on the mower deck today. Fabbed a new hanger bracket to replace the one that had ripped off and welded
it to a cover plate I made for the hole. Welding remains ugly but functional, another three or four coats of filler primer will hide all the bad work.
Now a huge amount of sanding, then painting. Then the fun part. Figuring out how to put it all back together.

Don, if you are measuring 13.4 V, is that with or without the charger connected ?

While you are charging, the only way to be sure how full it is is to measure current. If you disconnected the charger and read 13.4 V, then that's going to be pretty close - leave it a while to settle, then measure again. A fully charged battery will read about 12.6V

The 12.2 V you got before charging was a good sign that the battery hadn't fully discharged, so is likely to be in good condition.

After 3 days it got up to 13.6V right after taking the charger off, and then after being disconnected an hour it read 12.9. I'll see if it starts the tractor tomorrow. Thanks.

thanks guys. When it's all finished, a lot will be hidden.
The videos coming into YouTube are amazing.
horrible devastating destruction in US Virgins, Barbuda.
Hotel where I was married on the beach, Pirate's something, is trashed.
All these people with smart cameras videotaping from hotel rooms where they are trapped,
carnage going on outside. Huge boats flipped over, and now the weather is hitting Miami.

and so it begins.

Good evening all. 60F this morning, clear, calm. High temp was 83, sky remain clear winds were light to moderate ESE again, and DP blew 60F :) . Went for bike ride with group this morning, lunch with wife and stepdaughter, nap and was going to put down some milky spores but just had fertilizer. Picked up 6 new mole hills this week

The woodburner in our living room was called on last night to keep away the chill that accompanied another day without sunshine. That was the best bit of the day as I spent most of the daylight hours doing paperwork, spurred on by a letter from my accountant, reminding me it was time to once again ask permission from the government to keep a little of the money I worked for last year. At least now whatever chore is on the list for me to do today will be fun in comparison.:)

Hope everyone in Irma's path manage to keep safe, she looks real angry going on the damage caused so far.

Hang in there Buckeye.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 38° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 70° with lots of sun. Even with the cool temperatures yesterday turned out to be a nice day. Did not get lawn mowed. Worked on a couple of inside projects until it warmed up enough for outside projects. Lawn mowing is on the list again today. Forecast for this week calls for temperatures in the 70's. Will put the long pants back in closet.
Power pole install in neighbor's front yard has been resolved. DTE is going to use a pole in field to east of my place. It is hidden by a small wooded area. I will never see the switching equipment that will be installed on the pole. Must be an important project to electric company. They we out clearing a path through trees yesterday. So project can continue on Monday.
Buckeye, hope they have found reason for your back pain and cure it quickly.
Don, good luck with starting tractor.
Good Morning All.

We could use a little woodburner action, too...it's 47 here. But 73 later will feel perfect.

Looks like the storm is heading for Larro's area. I'm sure he is prepared.

BEF, hope to hear you are feeling better today. ..glad not kidney stones.

54 here, not as chilly as those in the mountains to the West, but still a change of seasons here.
High of 75, gorgeous day, totally opposite of what folks in Florida are going through now.
My friends with a home in Deerfield Beach are likely up already, having gone to North Florida for safety, watching one of the
live cams in Palm Beach showing one heck of a storm.

Buckeye, we are all hoping you had a better night. As one who has burst discs and had multiple back and neck operations, boy
do I feel for you. Looks like you may be on the injured bench for a little while, get that to calm down.

Some field mowing today and then powerwashing one small section of house.

50 right now...mid to upper 60's as the high today. Mowing the lawn is on the Plan of the Day.
I'd mowed part of the field yesterday...might finish that up today.
