Good morning!!!!

No rain here so far today, but I did have to use my windshield wipers an hour or so ago going into Denton. I don't think they got enough rain to amount to anything though. And 82 degrees is not nearly as cool as I'd like, but a lot better than forecast for later in the week. The NWS is forecasting 100 degrees in a few days.

39F here this morning when I got up.. didn't have any early meetings, but grand daughter was up and my wife needed some sleep, so we cut paper and made butterflies (paper punch that punches out butterflies about 1.5x3/4) for almost 2 hours, even got her to clean up some of the mess before Nanna woke up.

Grass is really greening up with the cooler weather.. we still have some brown spots that need more water, but got most of it green. It is our fire barrier around the house so really try to keep some green.

Above ground pool is down 18", looks like we have a leak.. daughter thinks we should just take it down and put it away for this year...

Thanks RS on the valve info. Is that on page 114 of the manual?
As soon as it gets below 110 in the tractor shed I may tackle it. Knowing that there is help here on TBN is nice.

Happy B-Day PJ.

Today was a total bust for lawn care. I just came in from Gopher hunting though. No luck there either. Smoke bombs may be on order.

Maybe tomorrow with the grass. It's above my desired cut length, but nothing I can do about it. Should have done it Sunday, but I was engaged in trimming.

Oh well.

I do not think the information will be the same for RS's tractor and yours. He has B series and you have M series. Looked at my maintance manual. There is no page 114 in mine. I have same tractor as RS.

Good point. Mine is the L series. Here is the info on pg 114:

Valve Clearance
■ IMPORTANT
• Valve clearance must be checked and adjusted when engine
is cold.
1. Remove the head cover, the glow plugs and the timing window
cover on the clutch housing.
2. Align the “1TC” mark line on the flywheel and center of timing
window so that the No. 1 piston comes to the compression or
overlap top dead center.
3. Check the following valve clearance marked with “✩” using a
feeler gauge.
4. If the clearance is not within the factory specifications, adjust with
the adjusting screw.
■ NOTE
• The “TC” marking line on the flywheel is just for No. 1
cylinder. There is no “TC” marking for the other cylinders.
• No. 1 piston comes to the T.D.C. position when the “TC”
marking is aligned with center of timing window on clutchhousing.
Turn the flywheel 0.26 rad (15 °) clockwise and
counterclockwise to see if the piston is at the compression
top dead center or the overlap position. Now referring to the
table below, readjust the valve clearance. (The piston is at
the compression top dead center when both the IN. and EX.
valves do not move; it is at the overlap position when both
the valves move.)
• Finally turn the flywheel 6.28 rad (360 °) and align the “TC”
marking line and the center of timing window. Adjust all the
other valve clearance as required.
• After turning the flywheel counterclockwise twice or three
times, recheck the valve clearance, firmly tighten the lock
nut of the adjusting screw.
