As far as sub-sonic .22LR, cycling in a semi-auto may not be reliable...I reckon I'll find out when the suppressor comes in. They should work with the SR-22 pistol...not so sure about the 10-22 *****. However, I did buy a Ruger American bolt action ***** (with a threaded barrel) too. There's a Youtube video of this ***** with a suppressor, and you're right. All one hears is the action of the *****.
Are suppressors legal to buy over the counter in the UK?

When I was shooting at the club last night there were several 10-22's around and many feed them sub-sonics. They say it's worth trying a few different makes of bullet to see which will cycle. Standard RWS is a bit slow (although never cracks, even in cold weather), whereas Winchesters are a little faster while still staying sub-sonic most of the time and they now have one with a heavier bullet which should help give it a little extra energy to cycle.

We need to ask to have "sound moderators" listed on our ******* certificate, but that permission is quite easy to obtain and does not cost anything extra.

RNG, I have what we call an "open certificate", which means I am allowed to shoot a ***** anywhere I have the owners permission. No problems with shotguns, legislation on them is much more relaxed.

I've seen fire and I've seen rain! :D

"I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end"

Well, maybe James Taylor and a few in Texas have Randy, but certainly not here in England this summer, although the sky is clear at the moment and it should reach a whopping 19C/66F today - the warmest it will have been all month.

CWB, great picture for the album, hope your grandsons have lots of fun fishing with their "heirloom" poles.

Will try and get to see that 28 guage today, rang yesterday and the guy I would like to see was taking the day off.

The trailer I was given last year had bent catches that hold the drop down sides. They are too far gone to attempt cleaning up, so I thought I would replace them with drop down anti-luce catches. They needed what I thought was a 12mm hole drilling through the box section, but when I tried one, it wouldn't go in and I couldn't persuade it with a hammer without putting excessive force on the toggle support pin, so I resorted to a round file to enlarge each hole. It was painfully slow and only when I had finished did I think about the set of rotary carbide burrs I bought last year that would have opened the holes in seconds

73 and mist going to 83 and showers likely.

High humidity and clouds kept my grass wet all morning, so I didn't mow, either. I got the loppers and shears and did some overdue pruning instead.

Hiked back in he woods to change my trail camera card, and learned that a bear had walked by 1.5 hours before me. Seems we get bears move through every year in August/Sept.

Finally dried out in the PM, so I bush hogged for a couple of hours.

Drew, glad you got the welding project going. I'm already learning about welding just from your comments and the tips others are sharing. Maybe one day I will try it.

Thomas, how are you doing your ditching?

Well, just heard it is National Relaxation Day. So, I think I'll head over to the recliner with my coffee and chill for 2 minutes.

Finished drinking first cup of coffee. 62° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 82° with rain in morning. Wife's dentist visit turned out to be a Sinus infection. Taking antibiotic. Another doctor visit today. Then some putter in the shop. May get started hanging the 10 LED shop lights I bought.
Drew, if you are having problems seeing what you are welding and are using a auto darkening helmet. You have the darkness set to high on helmet.
Eric, carbide burrs work really good if you use them. :D
Good Morning All.

Good morning!
"I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end" Yes Eric that would be here. 78˚ before sunrise and lots of sun, again, with temps in the 100's, again.

I had a field of about 200 Senna weeds. they grow 7' tall with big seed pods. I needed to cut them before the seed pods emerged. I figured I could cut them by hand in an hour and it would take two hours to take off the box blade and put on the mower and service the mower. So I cut them by hand. It took two hours. I always miscalculate by 50%. I hurt this morning. Now my lovely wife says the field looks no better because of the other weeds that are 2' make the field look messy. I told her I would mow it in October after a rain. I hate dove weed dust. :irked:

Ron, thanks. I am so new at this I have no idea what is right or wrong, normal or not. I did notice that all of a sudden I could see pretty clearly so yes I think there is a sensitivity
setting I need to fiddle with. There are two or three little dials on the helmet, I'll fiddle.

warm muggy day with showers after lunch. Am on call with tractor and forks at lunchtime for Fedex semi bringing the elevated man cage for my FEL forks.
Yesterday the safety lanyard and an equipment lanyard came in for it.
Until then, going to do some mowing with tractor in a/c. Lawn is back to growing like mad.

am planning on redoing much of that welding in the cool of tomorrow morning when I don't have sweat dripping all over the inside of the helmet visor.
I had very low expectations for my work and I surely did not exceed them.

Good morning all, 67 now with a high of 79 and 70% chance of rain. Light rain falling for some time. Will take the day as it comes. ?????

Drew, Get some 1/4 in scrap and just start welding it together, it can be your modern art. Then after you have some practice on that try the thin stuff.

Randy, Where I come from the old folks called the "fly up the creeks" That was all I knew until I was a teen.

Eric, But just think of all of the practice you got using a file. Know how you feel, do that kind of thing all of the time.

Don, Thanks for the info on the vinegar, not sure what I will do for now.

Have a great day. Ed

68°F and foggy this morning, going up to 90° today.

Good luck with the welding project, Drew. That looks like a tough one.

Turned 51 today. Doesn't really feel any different than 50 did yesterday.
