Good morning! 30 going to a high of 39 with 60% chance of freezing rain/drizzle. Wind W 10 mph.

I gotta go to the city today and pick up my new glasses, sign up for a new mobile ISP and get the new SUV shelter. It is gonna be a busy day.
I busted my glasses last month. The optometrists' office said it would take 6 weeks to grind new lenses. (I went and saw him at the end of March) They are in.
I caught my current mobile ISP over billing me 3 months in a row. Complained the first time (January) and they said they would fix it. They didn't. Called and complained the second time (February), they said they would fix it. They didn't. Called in March got a recorded message to leave a message, I did, they didn't return the call. I've got an official complaint in to the goobermint organization that handles ISP complaints and so far nothing. These guys only give me a maximum of 10 gigs/month for $85.oo with overages costing $0.05/meg. That is $51.20/gig. The new ISP will sell me 100 gigs for $165.oo/mth with overages costing $5.oo/gig.

Good morning! 59˚ cloudy. The cool front blew in yesterday bringing 1.4" of rain. I will make a Dewberry cobbler today to see how it turns out and if my preference is cobbler or pie. There are still plenty wild berries in the fields I eat all I can and freeze the rest, in two weeks they will all be gone.

Don, what is a dewberry most like? a raspberry?
I wonder if the Carolina pineberries I'm trying to grow are similar.

Can't believe I forgot to bring coffee with me....nice walk to office and brought back a big insulated mug full.
friends are picking up a pound of coffee for me today, then off to see the sights.

Good afternoon. No sunshine today, it's hiding somewhere behind light clouds. Can't complain though, hot water storage tank has enough high temperature water to see us through until tomorrow, with the roof panels still able to add a good few degrees to the incoming cold supply.

Picked up my little Stihl chainsaw yesterday from a local machinery dealer. It has been getting hard to start and also had an oil leak that was beginning to lubricate me more than the chain. Little things that I would sort out myself eventually, but time always seems to be in short supply. Pleasant surprise to find their parts cost little more than on-line suppliers and their labour charge was very reasonable too.

It is very different for me to see pictures of other parts of the world where lots of people fly a flag at home and are very proud to do so. In England, only royal palaces and the like tend to go to the trouble of running up a flag. Only houses I see with flags are show houses for sale. The only flag displaying I have ever done is for checking wind strength on the firing range.

DABSGT Nice to hear you have been busy - and to good effect too

Don, hope your digestive system can cope with all those berries. There are times when the badgers around here eat a few too many and ... well, no need to go into details :D

It's not like a raspberry in either taste, color or texture. Dewberries have tiny seeds (like small sesame seeds). My Mom used to strain the juice through a cloth when she made jelly to get the seeds out. I just eat the seeds when I make pies. They look like blackberries but when I went to New Jersey and had some of their wild berries the taste was different. They do not taste like blueberries. My mom had some boysenberry plants once and they were like large dewberries but with a different taste also. The amount of water and the soil they grow in also changes the taste from tart to grape-like.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 63° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 90° with sunny skies. Not much planned for today. Maybe get a hair cut. Then back to patio.
Flags look good.
Good Morning All.

Good morning Ron, Don, Eric, Daugen, and all y'all.

Cloudy and rainy down here. I finally got my tractor fixed and my brand new rotary cutter mounted ready to go but can't cut yet.

The project on the front door is on going. Framing is done. Now is the time to lay the pvc liner and put the flexible concrete slope down for the tile installation to come later.

I'll get to see my daughter in concert at Emory University this Friday. Can't wait.

BTW, has anyone here built a tornado shelter? My lady wants me to build one.

39°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 72° today.

Left for work yesterday, got about 3/4 of the way there, and turned around and went back home. My back was killing me. Even just moving my leg from the accelerator to the brake pedal was excruciating. I've had a compressed disc in my lower back for about 30 years, and sometimes it just decides to be nasty. It was bothering me a bit over the weekend, and Monday was no picnic either, but yesterday was just too much. Spent about 3 hours laying on a heat pad after taking a few pain relievers (Advil). Finally got it to relax enough to start popping around 2pm. Felt like a completely wasted day.

Renewed my SiriusXM subscription for my car last night. When I got it initially, a lady there told me I could downgrade from the full plan (on which she gave me a great deal) to their "Mostly Music" package, and if I wanted to add some of the premium channels, that could be done for an additional 75¢/each/month. So, I decided to do that this year. ... or not. ... No option for that on their website, so I started a chat session. The chat rep (Clive) informed me that this was not an option with my radio, and that I would have to buy one of their "ala cart" -capable radios. Nope. Not gonna happen. I expressed my disappointment in their changing stories, and thanked him for his time. So today I have almost all the stations I've been listening to over the last couple of years, with the sole exception of the Siriusly Sinatra channel. Bummer. I liked that one (yes, believe it or not, I'm a big Frank Sinatra fan). Guess I need to rip some more CDs to a USB drive now.

Great-looking flag pole installations, guys. We'll be doing one this year as well.
