45 out this AM. Need to move some stuff around before the rains come in. My area supposedly has a wild pig herd. Made the local news, papers even the WashPost. I've never seen them, nor any signs. More annoyance from the reporters coming on the property than the animals. They want to warn people I guess to take action before it gets out of hand.

Have a great day all, a good w/e, and be safe!

54 high of 64 today heavy rain now rain likely all day. Parade of storms which should come every three or four days will last thru mid April I think. ElNino is getting ready to come back which could spell hot summer

I think it is already here. I have yet to drain my pool this year. <-- indication of how dry the fall/winter was.

Don, I heard something the other day about poison for hogs might possibly be allowed? It contained warfarin, so rightfully, many are concerned about how to get it specifically to the hogs. If my neighbor did nothing towards their detriment, and I had crop or wildlife damage, I would probably do something about it.

These things get huge. I remember a story of a deer hunter getting treed by a huge boar. Not a russian boar (different animal), but a feral hog boar. He had a pump action Remington 30-06 and he said it took 6 shots before he felt comfortable to come down. This was down between Laredo and Hebronville years ago.

The warfarin will turn the fat of the pig blue, so you know you should not eat that poisoned pig.

The boars get the size of cows.

Good morning, 54˚ clear skies. Took mom to ER because of hip pain. Scan showed failed prosthesis (disconnect from bone). Lots of care over there till surgery. Long line of surgerys ahead of her, maybe mid May - the new healthcare - I'll stop here or I might get political.

Eric, modification on the last line. This little piggy cried wee wee wee in Whippers mouth all the way home.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 61° with mostly clear skies. Heading to 68° with mostly sunny skies. Wind was pretty strong overnight. Bring a cold front for a day. Then back to normal temperatures for weekend. Today starts the mass exodus of people heading back north. By Sunday RV park will be less than 20% full. Lots of saying goodbyes today and tomorrow.
Don, prayers for your mom.
Good Morning All.

Good morning.
Sunny and warm today. I'm thankful I got the geothermal heat pump to work yesterday evening so we'll be in cool comfort today.
Still waiting for the parts for my tractor to come so I can fix it (cue The Never Ending Story movie theme..)
Reading up and watching video on how to build a tiled shower. That's coming up next. Right now all I got is a rough in pipe in the concrete.

Rain coming in, high around 60°. There are wild hogs on the Eastern Shore, but none right here that I've seen. Of course we haven't had the coyotes right here either, even though they're all around.

Good Morning! 48F @ 6:30AM. Sunny. High around 70F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.

Spent most of yesterday upgrading Apple hardware to the latest and greatest OS. Main laptop went according to plan, but all the rest fought tooth and nail to resist. Apple's iCloud and two factor authentication played a role, as did slow or unresponsive Apple servers. It's important to know the difference between a password, a verification code, and a pass code, as each needs to be used at the right time and resetting any of them leads to more confusion. It took several attempts to get the iPhone SE and the iPad Pro updated, and the 17" MacBook Pro required a full on OS recovery mode install. Just plain gave up on the Apple TV. Lots of head scratching trying to figure out what to do when, easily the worst upgrade experience with Apple products to date.

With so much time on my hands waiting on things to download and install, I did get a little time in the garage. Put the speedo back in the built up housing and drilled new holes for two mounting screws. One screw held fine, the other promptly stripped. For some reason the drill I used spun the hole diameter out, so I mixed up another batch of epoxy, made sure the hole went all the way through, and used a popsicle stick to push the epoxy all the way through the hole. I'll try again in a couple of days. Two steps forward, one step back. Guess that's better than the other way around.

TGIF gang!

45ーF and cloudy this morning, going up to a balmy 50ー today. We got a little rain overnight, but looks like we'll be dry until Sunday.

Carpenter came back yesterday and finished a few things; installed the hood over the stove, finished the backspash and grout, and fixed a leak with the faucet. The kitchen is now complete(-ish). :drink:
Wife celebrated by cooking steaks on the stovetop center grill last night. :licking:

Interesting to note that Lowe's fix for the measurement mistake was to add another upper and base cabinet at the end on the other side of the 'fridge. The upper cabinet they sent ... wait for it ... was the wrong size. It's 3" shorter than the rest of the upper cabinets. A couple of replacement doors they sent were also too short. (sigh)

Here's a closeup of the granite countertop.

Wishing you the best with your Mother, Don.

Don, I hope they can get your mom's pain dealt with. Also for smooth surgery and recovery.

Making a cool aluminum manifold block with some vectored holes on our 5 axis mill today. Fun fun.

Frost when I got up, foggy now, expected to be in 50s. Grass is really getting the green on.

Had to go to ER last night. My wife had cut a piece of her fingernail off prepping some bells peppers for snacks mid morning. She was able to stop bleeding but when our daughter took the bandage off to check things, it bled a bunch. They bandaged it and after talking to doc, decided ER was the plan.. short wait to check in, short wait to triage, long wait (2hrs) to be roomed, more waiting for nurse, more waiting for doc (PAC), more waiting while he chased down supplies he needed... got home after 2am, took over an hour for me to fall asleep, running on empty today. Wife is doing much better (they numbed her finger, so she did not have pain and was able to get some sleep)..

It's those rubber tape measures. Blame it all on rubber tape measures!

But if you hadn't mentioned it, I'd never been able to tell from the photos. Looks real nice, especially the granite!
