66 degrees in Warrington PA, Bucks County, with rain coming in.

Heavy traffic driving up today from Delaware where i had a nice stay with friends. Twice in one hour while driving in the middle lane of very heavy traffic, two trucks on my right just veered into my lane, I suppose/hope not seeing me. Twice I was driven right out of my lane and twice thankfully there was no one in the passing lane. It's like the area was making people crazy, so intent to get ahead they would drive over people to do it. Both times the Subaru was hitting its brakes automatically as I was, as I saw both of them start to move about one second before impact. No wonder I moved South, honestly NC drivers are much less aggressive. Once this happened near Wilmington DE and once near Philadelphia.

By the time I made the hotel I was pretty rattled. And the room was wrong, not what I asked for, and it took them almost an hour to get another acceptable room ready while I sat and read my Kindle. Nice room, worth waiting for, giant earthen berm taller than the building outside my window, totally blocking all road noise. Marvelous.

PJ, great joke, probably making us all laugh and particularly our own sheepherder.

Hotel internet free and works fine. 24/7 coffee and snacks downstairs, free breakfast, a Homewood Suites place, fairly cheap for the area but still nice. This trip I give my relatives and friends a break from yours truly.

Now if only I could dial in and see if my tractors are ok. I suppose I could install a live video camera...:D

Thanks for the info RNG. Not sure what I'll end up with, but I'm certainly spending too much time on this 2008 Dell....I plan to let the kids use it too surf. Going for factory image restore now. It is not wanting to do it after 5 hours of same screen saying this might take 5 minutes

Drew, I drive with my headlights on night and DAY. Not sure if the subaru has daytime driving lights, but it is something to be cogniscent about.

Just got my yard mowed. I need to do the whole place. No time left this weekend. Just weeds anyway. :) Instead of mowing them, I need to cultivate my kids who are growing like weeds too.

Now I have to go mow my inlaws yard.

God be with all of y'all.

Tell him happy-birthday From Texas.
I told him he had people wishing him happy birthday from all over the US. Two brothers couldn't make it, but had grandkids and great grandkids here.

Even got a little seat time in. Pic too large to load from phone. Took tractor to the other side of the farm that was logged a few years ago. Full of briars, BlackBerry vines, multiflora roses. Took a walk later on the other side of the farm, saw wild turkey.

Tried to unstuck the clutch on the Ford 600, think something is broke inside and not stuck. First had to put on new gas line, old one leaked.

Good evening all. 52F this morning, cloudy with north wind. Yesterday after the front passage had .1 in rain and a south wind, go figure. Finally did clear about 2pm, so temps rebounded to 69F winds 13-20 mph and slowing down now. Rode this morning. both the high milage riders were no shows so settled for 37. 1.5 hour nap, then wife took me golfing for nine holes :)

Eric, how did "Socks" get a black sock?

It was nothing I did, honest ! (no doubt PJ will claim that's what they all say ;)).

"Socks" has a twin with no such markings. A lamb will crop up with a black patch over an eye or some other distintive marking like this every few years. Biologists would answer that it is caused by recessive piebald genes. I think of it more as nature having a laugh.

Good morning. It's that time of year when they play with our clocks, my phone adjusting itself automatically in time to get me up before the sun had chance to do anything about the frost.

Noticed the other day that the wood burner installed in my office/workshop has rust spots on the top. Rain has been creeping down the outside of the flue and dripping down. Got up there yesterday and found it had been installed with a tiny piece of sealant missing. Cleaned it all off and sealed with exterior silicone. The pipe is insulated twin wall so I'm hoping that should be ok on temperature. My head had told my body that it was a quick and easy job, the roof is only a 30 degree pitch. My body was not convinced, believing that I keep pushing my luck too much in denial that I am becoming an old man. I promised my wife that I will definitely will pay someone else to get up there next time something needs doing.

Drew, those trucks must have had you gripping the steering wheel almost as tight as I was clinging to the roof. Good to hear that your Subaru collision avoidance system was working. I wish that system was available on all their vehicles in this country.

41 going up to 43 on a cold wet day in PA.
Eric and Kyle, yes DRL were on, and both times I was in their blind spot. But they never took any time to look, no turn signals, just swerve into the other lane, ready or not here I come. We have all done this once, at some point, waving sorry to the other driver. Neither driver despite horn blaring went back into their lane, neither slowed down to say they were sorry, they just considered it a normal part of driving I guess. Flying is beginning to sound pretty safe... just odd this would happen twice in one hour.

headed downstairs shortly to get some coffee, then will curl up with my book until it's time to drive over to church.
Then off to my elderly MIL, after first buying a flowering plant for her, then friends in the afternoon and more friends for dinner tonight. All good but a long day and I'll be glad to be back here tonight.

53 up to 66 and cloudy.

Mowed yard yesterday to set up corn hole for family visit yesterday evening. Can't believe I've already mowed it twice this year.

Buppies, glad your bathroom is coming along.

Drew, hope your road sharing "neighbors" are kinder to you when you make the drive back home.

58F and cloudy @ 07:30 ... high today of 60F with a 50% chance of rain.

The screen on the LCD tv went dark yesterday, looks like it may be one of the inverter boards. Going to remove the rear cover today and see if I can spot which one it is and get the p/n off it to order one. Supposedly they can be had for around $60.

Need to clean one of the filters on the 55G tank as well and do a partial water change on a couple of tanks.

Hi to all,
Finished the project in Abilene TX and loaded the truck up and pointed to Oklahoma. Got home, surveyed the kingdom and unloaded all my goodies. Construction sites throw away the best stuff sometimes!
Wife promptly put me to work hanging mirror and shelves in bathroom but that's ok versus the fact she repainted the room and recaulked the sink and tub before I got home. Good trade, eh?
Had 4 10yd loads of dirt delivered while I was gone. Just shook my head and seeing it. At 250 bucks a load, that was a grand. For dirt! My place is so rocky that's its hard to get dirt for filling, planting, etc so I said hellwithit. Now I got it.
Project this week priority #1.
Installing the SUPER SPIRAL TUBE SLIDE from the deck down to the lower level.
Now three year old grand daughter arrives next weekend for a week.
She told her mom not to pack toys because her poppie would buy her some and they had some there and Nannie let's her drive the gold(golf) cart.
And poppy let's her help drive the tractor .
Mom made me promise not to spoil her. Yeah right..
Want to go look at a daneuser posthole digger with the down pressure installed for 1200 bucks. More that I wanted to spend but that's a good brand and I may need down pressure anyway up here on this ridge.
Also got the hydraulic pump kit for the 2n in to install.
Whew! Gotta go back to work to get some rest.
Hope all is well and doing good.
Lenny (in Wister, Oklahoma)

44 out this AM. It's like a fraternity house here. LOL. Help me.

Grey outside, looks like it might rain. Painted a room yesterday and I am paying for it this AM. I just cannot lift arms over shoulders anymore.

I had a road share a while back. Big 18 wheeler came right up on the drivers side at way too fast speed. He had no where to go as he was almost on top of the car in front of him, so he taps me and I go spinning at 60mph down the interstate. I get the adrenaline rush just thinking about that. Sometimes you have to wonder exactly what people are doing in their cars and trucks.

Be safe everyone, and have a great day!
