Quite a heavy dew and plenty of sunshine this morning. Lambs are up an about, trying to persuade their mums to stand so they can have breakfast. Most ewes ignoring lambs for the moment, preferring to lie on their bed of warm grass for a while longer

David, that is real shame about Aquion. The technology sounds good, so no doubt someone will buy it up and start production again one day. I guess you have lost whatever warranty was offered on the batteries, just hope you have no problems in the near future. Anyway if you did, you know what you are doing, so you will always find a work around - yet another potential project to keep your brain working :)

Thanks Eric

I guess the kick in the teeth is spending months researching and then less than a month after the install get blindsided. Hopefully, the tech doesn't get bought and shelved, aka Microsoft. According to my supplier there are a number of sizable sites internationally, so the right buyer could be good all around.

Pretty good progress today, albeit slower than I'd like. Of course, wife says all my projects take longer these days. I know when done, my body will be ready for R&R.

Life on the bleeding edge, David. Keep your eyes open for the inevitable lawsuit seeking damages from those like you that bought the product when those that ran the company knew it was going down for the count. In the meantime, it is promising technology, and hopefully somebody like Elon Musk will pick it up and run with it.

Elon is also very propped up by govt funding, so that may not be the cure.

18 right now...heading to the low 20's.
Pretty much cleaned up from yesterday's storm. The hardest part was trekking around the back yard making a path so our pup could find just the right spot to do her business. The snow is deeper than her legs are long (she, being a Boxer). Almost face planted a couple times.
The snow is powdery...wind blew a lot around so I expect to clean up some drifting when I get home.

Yea, I'm used to the bleeding edge, LOL

As for Musk, if he were to buy the technology, I doubt it would survive in current form as it competes against his lithium efforts.

18 out this AM. With the wind, probably single digits. Nice sheet of ice all over. Maul time today.
Be safe and have a good day.

29 degrees still dropping to 24 with a wind chill of 19 in gusts average mid 20mph. Not going out in that....

coffee finished perking, some Guatemalan coffee this morning. And I can't have another piece of pie with it...gave the other half of that enormous cherry pie to my neighbors who were happily looking forward to diving into it.

supermarket run this morning, not much else planned. Sure hope my sheets stayed on the garden and flowers and didn't get blown off in the wind. I'll find out when the sun comes up...

if you are driving to work up North, be safe.

21 with a promise of climbing to 34 and wind speed to match.

Good day to try to finish up taxes when I get home from the gym, but I'll find something outside to do, too.

Wonder how Dave in Maine is getting along these days with the snow, solar, and rock clearing.

Good morning! Wow all of us are getting an early start. 46˚ heading to 70˚ and sunny!
I'll do today what I had planed on doing yesterday, a lot of hand work on my parents cattle guard. Mom had to go to the store yesterday and did not want the driveway torn up so it was delayed a day. I'm sure going to miss my brother on this project.

25mph winds out now, tail end of that storm I assume.

goodbye little apple. goodbye little peach. goodbye little plum

10 above with a high of25. Was up at 4:00am. to finish cleanup so the wife could leave for work. Have about 5 hours on the machine total for this storm. Looks like we got 18 inches or so. Hard to tell with the drifts.

6 above and looking for a high of 19F The 40% chance of snow last night didn't happen. The roof on the portable shelter I have my Jeep in has ripped off in the wind. I will go out today and cut the rest of it off. There is a plan in the works to replace it with the same type I have my tractor in. Still Shelter Logic, but a 24 x 12' SUV shelter. They shed snow better.

Don thanks for the link. I was not clear ( too many things running through my head :( ) When on multi day rides the calorie density has to go up. Typical day of 60-80 miles burns 2500-3500 cal just during the ride, processing enough calories to be ready for the next day is a challenge. I am trying to learn enough to eat "less bad" during such rides and still digest enough calories. That way I have less to change (dietary habits) after the ride.

I never did a multi-day grueling exercise so you are out of my league on this. But if I did I would be looking for whole grain pastas, and potatoes to carb up before, and during the ride find some granola/fruit/nut/seed bars that high in calories but have no extra added oil. I would probably make my own because they are hard to find. I would be looking for a slow release types of sugars, carbohydrates, proteins, natural fats like natural peanut butter (with peanuts the only ingredient), so you don't get those energy ups and downs. What would be hard is forcing myself to eat while riding on the first day so the carbs, proteins and fat in the digestive system are being used instead of running on empty and your body grabbing the proteins from the muscles, (which I have painfully experienced toward the end of marathons). Stay Hydrated!

The warm Feburary we had is going to play havoc with the fruit trees

Good Morning! 56F @ 5:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun this morning followed by mostly cloudy skies and a few showers this afternoon. High near 65F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

That's a LOT of snow, Phil! I remember only a couple of times in my youth in Ohio where we got a couple of feet, and drifts up to the window sills on the house. Mostly I remember how they closed the schools, and the old man complaining about shoveling the driveway by hand. Nobody but farmers had tractors back then; they sure take some of the sting out of a big storm nowadays!

Lots of weed spraying yesterday took up longer than I'd have liked, so I delayed the work trip to the mechanic's until today. In some places the gravel and decomposed granite were completely covered, so there'll be a fair amount of hoeing and raking to do after the burn down. Lord knows I could use the exercise! Besides, it was such a nice day yesterday it seemed a shame to spend it inside a dark garage.

Sunny with a high of 60. Beautiful day but I have to work inside a windowless office for 12 hrs. It sucks but some one gotta pay the bills.
I had one free hour last night and just managed to drill the ends of my 2 new hydraulic cylinders and put the grease zerks on. That was it! My lady requested no sound in the shop after 11 pm. I'm hoping to get the FEL working and change the transmission oil in my lady's car this weekend.

Have a great day peeps.

Glad, All made it threw the storms.
