The storms missed us, we got a tenth of an inch of rain, but the wind is beating the heck out of everything! I'm getting the same weather as Buckeye, Buppies and wngsprd.

Looks like the sun is out, but we have about 1/2 inch of snow on the ground. I think it will melt off today, it's just a reminder that it is still winter here. Off to work!

67°F and no rain since midnight.
Made a run into Hilo yesterday and picked up aluminum for my remaining support for my solar panel installation. A good day will be getting those fabricated and installed.

Be safe
Have a great day

Here is Eastern Canada it is 9 degrees Celsius today. With maple syrup season just around the corner, I wanted to check how accessible the woodlot / sugarbush was. The ATV broke through the crust and got stuck in 3 feet of snow 1/2 mile in the woods. Also there was hardship retrieving my ATV trailer. Here is a video of the days events. I ended up playing a bit a classical guitar but the 6 white tail deer are the stars. Even though there is 3 feet of snow in the woods it is good to see some signs of the coming of spring.

Awesome video, thanks

good trip to Lowes, picked up my last roll of fencing, for tree surrounds, built the two needed, and then planted three fragrant tea olive trees Lowes had that smelled wonderful and i had a spot right near the house
that needed redoing. Lastly I mowed the nut orchard grass, mostly rye but some fescue growing in, which was green as could be and getting long.
Quiet evening planned.

We've all "been there and done that" in one way or another, but not quite so musically. Thanks for sharing the video!

And welcome to the Good Morning! thread. :welcome:

Had an excellent celebration of Texas Independence Day (March 2, 1836) and Sam Houston's 224th Birthday (March 2, 1793) today. That's a lot of candles?

Celebrated on both tractors and the JD zero turn. But, will complete the day with a nice gluten free Cigar and a Jack Daniels on back porch this evening.

Good evening all. Cold start this morning at 35F, clear and calm wind. Started fire in insert to warm hose up. Sprayed the mistletoe in the oak tree in front, then put down 1 bag of weed N feed on the front lawn. After lunch went to the bike shop to pick up new light for the bike and picked out a new seat, have to wait for it :(. That got men ready for nap :)

Love all the trees you are planting, but I hate to think about mowing around and/or weed eating around each.

yes, I'm up to several hundred trees and an awful lot of white fence posts. One reason I hired a mowing crew this year, my landscaping brain loves to write checks my aging body can't cash any more, but most trips to Lowes means I come home with a tree or two.

Much colder morning and day, as expected, with a real freeze tonight. Need to put some sheets out on berries and flowers on deck. Then the weather warms up again next week.
These colder days make me want to cut some wood, so I'll probably be out clearing up deadwood too today, use the chipper a little more than put it away for now. I'm making too much firewood and having a hard time giving it away, who would think? Too warm a winter here to burn much, unless one heats with wood, which I really can't. Though it would be nice to have a wood stove in the barn work area. A project for next winter.

up too early, wondering how Roy is doing on his last day of training. Bet he'll be glad to get home, with some
great memories...

Thanks to the weather forecasters I hauled myself out of bed early this morning, just in time to avoid one of those wide bands of rain that doesn't spare anything in it's path from a good soaking.

Drew, good to see you getting round to having fun with your welder. It's now a whole year since I bought mine and it's still my no 1 toy (oops, I mean tool). Too wet to play outside with it recently, however the metal joining I am trying out today doesn't need any heat. A friend has encouraged me to experiment with some incredible neodymium iron boron magnets. Hard to believe how much force they exert when they are so tiny.

You taught me something there. Not how to get a trailer stuck, I'm not too bad at that, but that a Metallica piece can be relaxing. Really enjoyed your guitar playing - more please.

RJ.
"Had a VERY embarrassing situation last night...after a glass of wine and three beers (and a very long day!), I went to bed. Anyway, I got up in the middle of the night...I guess to take a leak. Went out the door and...OH BOY!! I was in the hallway...in my skivvies...no door card and had to piss like a race horse. Oh brother! Fortunately, another guest was up (taking her dog out to pee, I guess) and she contacted the front desk...her hubby tossed me a towel to wrap about my waist.
Don't know if I was walking in my sleep and just got totally disoriented or what...but that's the truth and I'm stickin' to it! "

12F now might reach 30...might, least the winds are silent for now.

Friday :dance1: think I'll keep low profile at work today.

Enjoy the day all.

As a kid, I read a biography of Sam Houston and he became my childhood hero. He was born in Virginia, not too far from Buppies. Sounds like a great way to celebrate!

perhaps Eric someday our engine parts and mechanical parts will be held together by super high strength magnetism, which you could selectively engage, allow single or multiple parts to just come free easily by hand.
By then all our engines will be electric, so what's a little more to provide some metal bonding...

26 and frosty, going to 49. Maybe some flurries predicted, but clear as a bell now.

Got some seat time yesterday, moving some dirt, raking out some vines, and moving my cold woodstove ashes from the cooling pit to spread on a food plot. Then started changing out blades on the tiller and got half done by dinner time. Found I need to replace a few of the grade 5 bolts, which I don't have. Pick them up when in town today.

32 out this AM. Not good for all the plants that flowered. Looks like another year of no fruit may be shaping up. Spent most of the day yesterday with the chain saw and brush, ended up making another huge pile. Have a few more tress to take out, then rake out the area. I'd like to build a deck on top of the silo, but will need a structural engineer to look at it for me. It's a 1920 concrete pour, rocks at the base and who knows what kind of load it can support. Have to get a tree out of the middle of it too. LOL.

Have a great day all, be safe!

26 right now in Hartford CT...high in the mid-30's.

Last day of the seminar...should be heading home about 1400 this afternoon.
No shocking experiences last night! One stupid stunt is enough this week!

Wister Oklahoma

Made it home and got RV turned around with the Kubota and pulled up next to house and emptied it while DW wiped it down. Man! How much "stuff" can a couple need in a camper?
Got it all done and made a few repairs that I'd put off and it's ready. Wife asked if I wanted to keep it now that is was looking so good but I declined.
Good friend down the road (He's from Exemouth England, Eric Satrop) have a fishing date today. I do have a lot to do but we look forward to our fishing day trips while I'm working on the road so that's a standard. Work can wait. Good friends should always take precedence.
Wife let slip what windows and doors were gonna cost. Over 8k. Gulp... but they are needed so that can be this year's big project. Here's a shot from our upstairs bedroom. IMG_0973.JPG

Going to try to go look at a local PHDigger for sale today if time permits.

Hope all is well. First coffee ready and then at it. Head back to Abilene TX Sunday.
