thanks Ed. I was going to put a small line of caulk down the center of the gasket, depending upon how fluid it is, I might brush it a little with a glue brush. Figured I'd do the one side first, apply the gasket, do the other side, then put the cover on. And it's all going to stay right in place while I do all of this. yup...
The good news is that the oil/lube only fills up the bottom 8 or ten inches of the cover so the only place to leak is right at the bottom. I don't even have to do anything special for the top 80%; oil never gets there, chain just runs through a pool of oil at the bottom. Need to get some more 90/140 lube today.

That should work well. Ed

My dad fixed the knotter on his baler, has been working fine since.
Says he has enough hay now for next winter.

Rain here most of the day.

Kind of odd they would bury it? Too bad it wasn't kept as a tourist attraction.

The story growing up was. It was too big to move cost effectively. A new shovel could be sourced for the moving bill. This shovel was 25 years old and had dug up around 5,000 acres.

Some more history for the area. This use to be coal country. But Peabody Coal no longer operates a mine in the area and Armstrong coal is quickly closing its mines here in county. http://www.rockportky.com/CoalMines/SinclairMine/SinclairMine.html This county 5 years ago had 4-5 surface mines and 3 underground mines. Now I think there is one of each left and as they mine out that's it. No more will be opened to my understanding.

Drew. Make a circle around each bolt hole with the gasket maker. It helps stop the seepage. Cleaner is better.

Good morning all. A cloudy day ahead, with enough breeze to hopefully keep the horse flies from again making me their favourite blood donor.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon pulling ragwort from the hay meadow. Do you get ragwort ? The stuff is still toxic long after baling, so horse lovers in particular will not buy hay with any ragwort in.

I just managed to scrape through the citizenship test that Drew highlighted. Despite his kind words, I am too much of a liability to be let into America - you would never know if one day I would revert to driving on the left side of the road.

Oh, my niece has signed for season I, 12 episodes.

Very good, look forward to watching that one day. Guess you wouldn't want to get a bit part in something like that.

Good morning all. 72 here this morning going to 87. 70% chance of showers this am and 40% chance of thunderstorms after noon. Have to do some Little jobs around the house today, More smoke detectors, new door knob on one room, and some work on the kitchen cabinets. Likely a trip to HD before I start.

Took the dog out for his nightly walk last night. To him I was taking him into a war zone. We could see the big fireworks from the yard and he was so scared he went #2 out of fear. I just brought him back in before He did #1. He was a SPCA dog and I winder if he was shot with bird shot sometime, he sure acts like it. I would have to say the 4th of July is his least favorite holiday. Have a great day all. Ed

Poured second cup of coffee. 61° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 84° with sunny skies. Another doctor visit today. Then walk and rest.
Eric, wrong way drivers are a common headline in Phoenix, AZ news. But not sure you would fit in the same category as those drivers. :mischievous:
Ed, our dog has a problem with any loud noises. Smoke alarms are the worst. Only need to get toaster out and she is looking to leave home like Whipper.
Gary, nice decks. Is the water table high around your area. I remember most homes in your area have a lot of the basement above ground.
Good Morning All.
