Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. 59 here this am going to 80. 20% chance of thunderstorms. Going to start moving the furniture out of the storage units today and need to mow grass sometime. Got a mulching kit for the X310 yesterday and hope to get that on as well. Friday Wife and I are going to have a day off to do what we want. Planning to start with breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then figure it out from there.

RNG I am enjoying your project as well. I was going to get an older Toyota and do a little fixing-changing but wife has decided we need a nice 4 door Toy instead of a project. Prob for the best, what you are doing looks like work.

Ron I am going to Kroger in a little bit, What flavor do you want? I will send it parcel post. :D

Farmer, Glad our prayers were answered. Hope you can keep up with the popsicle requirements.

good luck with bushhogging Billy with the holiday weather report; looks like a wet time here.
Always a concern whether the weather is nice at 9pm on July 4th. And we all know what happens then.

off to dermatologist this morning, have to see him every six months due to history of multiple melanomas. I tell him to watch my back, literally and figuratively; can't see back there and last time something constantly itched it was a melanoma. So now I'm very careful as to what itches...

Then off to neighboring town of Greenville, where the TireRack authorized installer is. Ordered and got delivered in two days (what a great company) replacement set of tires for the Jag. Should be much quieter I hope with these. And then with four dirty tires wrapped in trash bags in my car, I go off to the Mexican used tire dealers in town and see who will give me the most for the old tires. 255/35/20 just right for stupidly big rims on a small car or SUV. Am hoping to get a hundred bucks for the four, which should almost pay for mounting the new ones. They said an hour and a half to mount and balance four tires. Guess they are taking their time, and they said they have the latest Hunter machines with pads to not scratch the wheels. Ok...Kindle charging, going to be a long wait in Mr. Tire's waiting room.

And if it's not raining when I get home, then finally I'll get something done outside this afternoon.
I really want to go hoe those sunflowers before it rains heavily again. I'll make them look really nice so the deer can find them better...hope I don't lose any more or I'm not doing this again. Already lost about a fourth of them, just chomped in half, four inches down to two. Venison stew anyone? I have the potatoes and tomatoes...

Good Morning. 0655, rain, 74F with 99% humidity. Forecast high of 81F with 90% chance of thunderstorms today, and a low of 71F tonight. It's raining hard enough to keep even me out of the garden, so I had a little time to catch up. {just for the record, I'm not mad at anyone, just don't have time to follow along everyday}

I stayed at the camp last night, and my new higher ridgeline was tested with a huge thunderstorm at about 0445. A few days back we had 3 1/2 inches in 30 minutes, and my tarp roof didn't drain as well as it should have. I cut posts {saplings from the brushpile out back} for each end, and lifted the center about 4-6 inches, stretching the tarp tighter. It still had a pretty big water bubble, but it didn't dump inside the tarp walls, like it did the other day.

I noticed Kev T hadn't been posting on my garden thread lately. Hope all is well with him.

Speaking of garden, all I need to do today is cut the okra, pick the peas, beans, pole beans, peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers. But with the rain, I'm hoping to get a few more pepper plants transplanted into the ground. My main pepper patch is 30 plants, and my 2nd patch is up to 18 or 21 with a few more in gallon pots ready to go into the ground. I also have three trays of the six pack things with seedlings that will be going into pots soon. {if they don't drown. I should brave the rain to put them in the subterranean greenhouse until the worst of the rain is over}

You guys have a good one,

Larro

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4th,

not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a

show of strength and muscle,

but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness.

You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.

Nice morning, upper 50's early, mid 80's later, dew points are way down. We are drying out from the flooding on Tuesday, I have to mow today, been a week, looks like 2.
Drew, too bad you only have the Mexican used tire emporiums there, we have Muslim and Indian used tire places in competition with the Hispanics here!:D

RNG, you might consider the bleach solution first. Hantavirus is bad stuff.

That's why I was wearing a respirator. Seems to have worked! This morning I'll hit it with the hot water pressure washer after giving the bleach a bit of time to work. With continuing temps above a hundred, the weather's perfect for drying things out afterward. Ha, talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Which reminds me, I have a story on that, too.

BTW, here's what the CDC has to say about Hantavirus: CDC - Hantavirus

I may not be out of the woods yet, but the odds are good. That mouse poop was nearly petrified!

That is one big project. I would love to buy a used government humvee and patch it up road worthy, but there can be problems getting them titled for on road use.

Yep, it's big alright, but not as big as a house. The last one of those only took four years!

Gotta be a bunch o' them humvees around, but in this age of thousand dollar gummint toilet seats, I wonder how much parts cost? And didn't I read somewhere that they went out of business?

PS, osflo is good to treat that rust.

No sense treating the rust when the metal's too thin to weld to. I'm going to have to cut it out and patch it, but I'll keep osflo in mind if there's a next time. So far, this is the only rust I've found on the whole van, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Good morning! Warm and going to get hot. Clear skies.

I'm not having any luck with a weather "radar" app because my wife's old iPhone is too old. Apparently I need iOS 8.0 for all the current apps that I have looked at and all I can get on the 4S is iOS 7+. Anyone have an iPhone 4 or 4S that can get a radar? People that have put 8.0 on the 4s complain it slows the phone down quite a bit.

Good Morning! 72F @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 103F. Winds light and variable.

They buyers are having inspections done on the house today and I'm keeping my fingers crossed nothing turns up. I'm fully expecting something, after all, what inspector worth his salt won't come up with something, anything, to prove their worth?

Tried to order primer and paint for the van yesterday using the supplier's web site and ebay store, but neither listed what I need. Sent 'em an email, and the reply said they'd call me today. Another pair of fingers crossed.

Got a call from my autobody man neighbor yesterday evening about eight o'clock. The procedure to reattach his retina went fine, the eye feels OK but he had a heck of a headache. The worst part is he has to lay face down for the next seven days, and he's stuck in a motel room because the eye won't stand the elevation gain (pressure change) going home. He's a thin wiry guy that can't sit still, too, so that's gotta be a special kind of torture for him.:(

Then he told me that his wife's pot belly pig died (probably the heat we've been having), and she needed help disposing of the carcass. I told him I'd be happy to help, but I couldn't get the hoe back on the tractor before dark. So I went down there and another neighbor and I got 'er on the forks, and I wheeled her out under a big tree in their back pasture. Another neighbor's got a regular backhoe and will take care of it today, whatever the lions didn't get last night.

My haircut appointment is this afternoon, so it's off to town for that and groceries. Maybe hit Costco while I'm there and pick up some of their nice seed loaf bread. Makes a mess on the counter cuttin' it, but it sure tastes good when it comes out of the toaster.

Farmer _ glad your son is doing ok. I also remember surgery at that age.

Drew - I've been first in line at costco for 2 tires that took over 2 hrs. Each step in the process done by a different guy.

I heard the same thing about the 4S and never bothered upgrading it before I moved on to the SE. Still haven't upgraded it, and I don't think I will. I want to use it as a spy camera in the house, and having it slow down for an OS upgrade isn't something I want to happen. But the weather app I use works fine on it, and it has weather radar that works fine, too. It's from a local TV station in Redding, CA called KRCR. Just searched for it in the App Store using KRCR and it shows up along with their news app. You can set the "home" city to anything, so maybe that'll work for you?

58 this morning and headed to 88 today. Currently 74.

Still at the hospital and boys doing good. Asked the nurse if she'd seen the doctor and she said oh he's unpredictable but usually in before 1pm. Oh great I was hoping to be home by then. Sit and wait.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I want a round baler for a 2 acre field. That hasn't gotten approved yet.

   / Good morning!!!! #47,195
73.8F and clear/sunny @ 10:40 ... high today is predicted to be 79F.

Have a fax to send and then I'll be outside for the rest of the day.

First order of business will be to wash off the front axle and wheels on the Kubota.

Noticed last night when I was taking the MMM off that I may have another o-ring leaking @ the front axle pivot. Need to investigate that.

My local weather app, WBOC TV, shows lightening strikes and Accuweather even comes on the screen to tell you that "The latest lightening strike was 3.4 miles southeast of your location."

Today is exactly 2 months since the April 30th wind storm that blew over a bunch of trees including one on my BH. I just finished cutting the last tree out of my road to the back and now have access to the back 40. This was the tree by the bees and I was layered with FD gear and netting, the bees did not bother me but I got plenty hot. Next on the agenda is to smooth the washout behind the dam.

Good comic buckeye.

A baler for 2 acres? There has got to be more to the story to justify the purchase, right? Just articulate these to her. We are here to help!

Buckeye, no doubt if you tell her we said you need the baler, you'll be golden!
