Good morning!!!!

Good Morning All. 59 here this morning going to 83. 60% chance of showers and thunder storms today, mostly after 3 pm, but I see some on radar that look like they will be here by mid-morning. Taking another load to the storage unit and then hope to load another one before trip to lawyer to talk about the property sale contract. The buyer wrote it up himself and I don't like the looks of it.

Kyle, prayers sent for your moms pacemaker replacement. when they did my moms they did not have to replace the leads, hope they won't on your mom's as well.

Daugen Emerald Isle, looks like a place I could spend a few days-weeks at and not get to tired of it. Try real hard to have fun. :D

Have a great day guys, be careful and have fun at what ever you do. Ed

67 this morning and headed to 86 today.

I take the truck in to have the A/C fixed today along with a coolant change. Then the boy has a doctors appointment later. Need to move 2 tractors and a dozer today. We'll see when my truck gets done.

Eric. I don't run a Tedder unless I have a too. A Tedder speeds drying by a day here. We'll have some moisture left in the bottom of the windrow but by the time the baler catches the rake it's usually drying out good. We do have to be careful as I've had to stop and wait for a dew as it was too dry. Usually a product of being able to cut more than I can bale in a day.

Drew. So it's just a good plot not income producing. Good luck with sunflowers. If they are commercial varieties then don't plant too thick. Sunflowers have a natural competition to them and will try to out grow each other. This makes for thin stalks and then they fall over easy.

Has anyone else been watching the tropical activity? There were some giving a heads up to NC next week.

59 going to 90.

Kyle, hope your mom heals quickly...my mom got a pacemaker a few years ago and is doing great.

Farmer, I heard on the radio that some tropical activity might start up this weekend...I know Drew will keep an eye on it down on the coast.

Coco, my wife and I hiked a steep 4 mile waterfall trail in Shenandoah NP yesterday...drove by the area that had the 10,500 acre forest fire recently...nice to see most of the trees have survived and greened up, but the ground brush has burned away. Saw bear, deer, chipmunks and snakes on our hike...I know everyone likes snake pix, so here are a pair sunning on the rocks next to the Doyle's River lower waterfall.

Billy, neat picture. Is that a black snake? corn snake, chicken snake, rat snake, whatever local name they give it...it looks familiar.

thanks farmer, if they suggest a range of six inches to one foot apart for the seeds, you're suggesting I go to the one foot? I was hoping if they were closer together they
would support each other but you, who actually knows what you are doing, say that actually works the other way. Good to learn, thank you. I should count all my seeds and see what one foot per adds up to. Going to be a colorful field. Do not want to plant close to tree line as sunflowers want full sun. Makes sense...

71.1F and at least partly sunny @ 08:30 ... looks like about a 50% chance that we'll get wet today. Here's hoping we don't.

Calling for a high of 80F today, 87F tomorrow. If so, that will be about 20F above the normal high.

Hearing chainsaws and the crunch of falling trees, so the loggers must still have more to do.

Will figure what I need for the soil/gravel screen, then grab a shower, and after that head outside to see what I can get done.

Need to drop the grapple and stick on the pallet forks at some point to move the lumber on the pallet up in the field.

Don't know if the trail is dry enough yet to start moving brush down to south end of the property ... but if it is, that could take the better part of the day.

73°, back to near 90° again today. Got a bunch of stuff done yesterday, more on the docket today. Gotta replace a bunch of flowers that cool wet May killed off, mow grass, build a Gravel approach all around my grill patio, using Texas white stone for that.
Kyle, it's easy to tell other people how simple a surgery is, but my wife is a doctor (retired) and has had a pacer for 11 years, in fact on her second unit, very simple procedure and very quick recovery, especially because now her heart will be supplying 02 and not just fluttering around.

Good morning! A warm cloudy muggy 78˚. Rains heading this way by noon and rain also for tomorrow.
Nice snakes.
Prayers for Mom Kyle.

Drew, what size were your tilled pictures? I gave up on trying to download them.

between five and 8 meg, sorry. I can't even figure out how to dial the camera down.

expensive morning, didn't think I should try putting the loose headliner back in my new to me car. So I went to the body shop, they said headliners are specialty and they send all their headliner work across the road. Who turned out to be very nice folks, and said the entire headliner had to be replaced made more complicated because the sunroof had to come out to do it. $550. sigh. well, if that's the worst of it... which it won't be.
I did not realize there was an inner liner the headliner goes on, that needs to be removed and all the dried out glue removed, then reinstalled. They said two days.

well, I'm off to mow for the rest of the day. Gorgeous day, time for sun screen and a big hat.

68°F and .22 inches rain last 24 hours.

Happy to report, my $200 replacement battery for the electric seems to be performing superbly.

Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning! 66F @ 9:30AM. Sunny. High 86F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Kyle, hope everything goes OK for your Mom!

Drew, I just ripped the headliner out of my VW van a couple days ago. You want it?

Ed, is it safe to say that the lathe and mill WON'T end up in the basement?

RS, speaking of loggers, I think a crew is working just down the canyon, maybe doing something for the marina. I can hear a dozer, several chain saws, a big chipper, and a few heavy trucks. They've been at it all week, disturbing the usual peace and quiet

Got one of the "for sale" bikes started and running yesterday, but the other ran weakly for a minute or two then failed to restart. Even though the fuel had Stabil in it, it was left over from last Thanksgiving and I think it was still bad. So I'll take a can into town today and purchase some fresh and see how that does.

Spent the rest of the afternoon removing some tar like soundproofing from the rear of the van. Most of it came off with a putty knife, but it left little specks of tar that took a wire brush and solvent to remove. Tried to use the same stuff on the contact cement that held on the thin plastic covering on the door pillars, but the only thing that came off was the paint. A wire brush in the angle grinder took it off just fine, all the way down to the galvanizing. That's not a problem, as there are numerous spots already that need primed, and there will be a lot more once the new roof is on.

Hang in there, Friday's comin'!

Drew. If I remember correctly we planted sunflowers between 20,000-25,000 seeds/acre. That's 8.5-10.5 inches between seeds. You want them thick enough to shade the ground for weed control but to have room for their elbows. Sunflowers have a large leaf.

Kyle hope your moms surgery goes good.

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. She is out of surgery and all went well. Best news is that they were able to do it with just a local anesthetic.

excellent! Good news. And less worry for you.

four hours mowing, getting dry again, sucked a lot of dust, plan on doing nothing for rest of day.

Great news, glad to hear it.

RNG No the lathe and mill will be out in the shop but I just talked to a guy about a wood lathe for the basement. Ed

Spent pretty much the rest of the day clearing and cleaning up the garden area. Got the last standing tree out ... only thing that's left is a pallet of of lumber (PT and some actual redwood from the old deck)

A little panorama:

Still very wet down at the bottom ... another dry day or two with temps in the 80's and it would probably be dry enough to drive over without leaving ruts ... at least with my little machine. But that probably ain't gonna happen. Been dragging wet dirt out and dry down with the landscape rake, which should help dry it up some. Need to get it graded so it will drain better.

Worked an 8' x 30' area (along the eastern perimeter, which is where all the trees were) with the root rake, ... popped up a lot of roots and then drug them up to the top to add them to the brush pile. Still have a lot of area to cover to get the roots out.

Long day and I'm tired.

If you tried to snoop around like that here RS without asking the land owner first,,,,,,, you would be picking buckshot out of your back side.

I Told my mom about all the well wishes from all around the world. She was pleasantly surprised.

It is really flooding bad around Giddings. My mom picked a good day for surgery . If I had gone to work in college station, I would be stuck there in floodwaters.

Kyle, good news on your Mom's outcome.

Watching weather radar and looks like you are catching it. Good luck and be safe. We're good here as it's all north of I-10.
