Looks like yesterday was the last 80 degree day for awhile. 58 right now, Mid 70s today then lower the rest of the week. I tested the house AC yesterday just to be sure it is all good. Heat is on now. I got four of the five areas cut before today's rain and I don't need to do around the house yet. For some reason it never grows well. It has to be something with the forest clay. Only thing the seems to do good is moss. Wife went to work and the cat just came from running in the woods all night.

Echo the "stay safe" in texas, that was a quick river rise.
I remember being in a river side park north of San Antonio, and they had flash flood sirens, because it could be storming upriver, and you wouldnt know it.

My wife and I walked out to where we could see the mountain a little bit ago. Fire has spread, what we can see, from two ridges to another one a good ways south. It looks twice as long as it did yesterday. NWS calling for wend as high as 16 with gusts as high as 21. From what it looks like we are getting that and more. Wife put some clothes on the line and the wend blew them off.
Wife just told me that the size of the fire just went from 700 ac yesterday to 3000 at 10 am today.

On the way home there were multiple fires in the ditch along the interstate. 1 to 2 miles long, either deliberately set or something was throwing off sparks.

A lot of ditch fires around here are by choice.

Busy day, My friend Mark came over and we replaced the AC compressor on his 07 Dodge diesel 1 ton and also fixed the right front ABS sender that had the line cut, then we hooked up to a Old Yellowstone camper he is getting from my neighbor Brian down the lane to use as a hunting shed. Checked the air in the tires and lights and sent him on his way. Tomorrow I will go to Plainfield and ride with him to his dads in Indianan to grind out some stumps with my stump grinder. Then maybe Monday I will get out of here and go North to Mark's place in northerner WI. He plans on dragging the camper up there on Friday. :shocked:
Wife said the new tires are nice.

Good morning all. Looks like we are set for sunshine again all day today. I saved on sun screen cream by spending yesterday afternoon inside the tractor cab and then blew away that saving by pushing the air conditioning button. Ok, I admit I could have been comfortable by just turning the fan up instead, but more than a year after getting this Iseki the novelty of having a cab, let alone air con, still hasn't worn off.

It's very dry here, farmer spread chicken manure on about a hundred acres across the road, the wind immediately switched from that direction!

My neighbour was spreading too. Not so much wind here so the smell creeps up on you, hides for a while, then comes back again once you got used to having fresh air again. At least I should be thankful his once green, now painted brown, field is only 18 acres.

Good morning all, 54 here this morning calling for 69. Supposed to have sun today but a chance of showers Thursday through Friday night. Hope we get some, It is dry and it will help the firefighters up on the mountain. I see Texas is getting more rain this morning, with more flooding. You guys stay safe down there. Good Morning! 68˚ and dark and quiet. I was just thinking all is calm till I read Ed's post about us getting more rain and I checked the radar and WOW we are going to get slamed again in a few hours, it looks like a tital wave is comming from the Northwest. I was going to go to town but if I do I might not make it back till the low water crossingings recede and that takes about 12 hours. All the pond are still overflowing and the creeks are full. Thanks for the heads up Ed.

Good news - after 4 hours and changing out the antenna my Internet is up.
Bad news - Carwash pressure washer broke again a few months back.
Good news - BP sent a replacement pressure washer motor/pump a month ago, finally got aroung to replacing it.
Bad news - as soon as I turned it on the new pressure washer blew a brass reieif plug. I guess I should have not turned the pressure adjustment knob to high. The warranty has expired and now I have 2 broke pressure washers that are simular, but not simular enough to exchange parts to make one working one.
Bad news - no place local carries the plug that blew because the thread is BSP - British Standard Pipe.
Good news - found replacement plug on newly working internet but it will be May 4 before the plug arrives.

55 this morning and headed to 83 today. Rain has been pushed off till tonight. Then all day tomorrow. We could use it.

Off to take wife in for an ultrasound and glucose test. She loves the last part. Laughing. Then back and migrate chickens and it'll be time for me to go see the allergist. Need to find time to get ears lowered. But that may wait till another day.
