Good morning! 66˚ cloudy. The news is predicting 5 days of rain up to 10". Everyone is getting ready for the floods. I need to run to the store because of my low water crossing on my street will shut us in. The Austin area lakes are near full and the flood gates may be opened if that much rain hits. Because of the drought the last time the gates were open was ten years ago. People around the lakes are preparing.

The pool is open (cover removed). Clear and the ph looks good - no algee. Water Temp is 67˚. I'll let the rains add 3" to fill it at least I won't have to pump water off the cover. Any extra rain I'll use to backflush the filter.

The Patriot Automatic gate is fixed. The control box has a LED display that pinpoints the problem so it's easy to diagnose. I had a loose wire on the exit wand connection to the board. It had nothing to do with the ZTR's ROPs collision with the entrance code box.

Good Morning! 59F @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 84F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Nice to see all the spring wildflower pics. Sure beats heck out of last winters snow pics.

RS, is there a primer on hydraulics somewhere here on TBN? I'm really struggling with the terminology. Hard to picture what's going on when I have no idea what "port beyond", "third function", or "spool" mean.

Drew, better stick with a velvet Elvis. A nude may offend a bible belter wandering by in a campground. :ashamed:

Got a return phone call from Steve on the too short drive shaft problem, and a longer one is on the way. The box will have a prepaid label in it for returning the short one. I'll have to figure out how to spring the release button on it first: It's way up under the safety guard and jammed. Steve said his staff is supposed to check for that before the 'shaft ships, but they missed this one.

Put the old Bushog on and mowed space so folks'll have a spot to put their tents. I was surprised that the grass was already over a foot high in places. Also got my first spring sneezes from all the pollen that was stirred up.

Four guests ensconced and one brake flush already under our belts, the AirTech Weekend is officially underway. Good conversation around the table last night; some pretty tall tales being told.:laughing: Some pretty loud snoring coming from the guest quarters as well. :)

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

You know what causes all that snoring???

when a ******** falls down in your crack and slams shut against your sphincter causing vapor lock...(that was the gentlest way I could type it)...:)

Frost again this morning, according to the weather, the Salisbury airport was the coldest spot east of the Mississippi including southeastern Canada, at 33°. I'm 300 yds from the end of the north south runway. 60's today and warming up after that, finally!

Drew, the oil thing is common with high RPM, relatively small displacement engines. The Northstar is a 4.6 liter V8 and holds 8-8.5 qts of oil. It's not considered low until below 5 qt's. These engines have very deep cross hatching in the cylinder walls and are intended to lube them at high RPM. Sacrifice a qt of oil every 1000 miles and save the engine. On the other hand a 350 Vortec will go 300000 and never burn a qt of oil.

Good morning,

Sunny 55 degrees and will be in the high 70s again today. We went from winter into summer. Only plans are get grocery's.

Eric that pond looks like a lake to me,,nice!
Billy, great looking fishing spot and nothing wrong with a good workout to.
Sounds like keeping the top end lubed is important to Subaru.. With today's materials and machining I don't understand why they would burn oil???
Have a good one!

35 going to 69. Another frosty morn.

Had a great hike in the Shenandoah yesterday...7.4 miles roundtrip and 1,700 feet elevation gain...packed my waders and fishing gear...lots of weight, and was able to fish from the rocks without wearing my waders so all that weight for nothing but the exercise, I guess. Beautiful day and lots of wildflowers. Met some interesting people and dogs on the trail, saw 3 bears and 4 deer. Am sore today. Here's a pic of one of the pools I was flyfishing in...caught a couple of brookies there.

wngsprd i know you enjoyed that trip them brookies put up a fight for sure, really great looking stream.

The places like that and the lower humidity, compared to east of here, are some of the reasons I live over here. Don't hike or fish much but I still love the views.

Daugen, Kile and Don.
I learned of the oil problems a few days ago and am not sure what to do. Just might let the Honda dealer have it. Thanks

The beads looked good if you are getting enough penetration. I practice using "Gorilla welds", big, strong, and ugly...

I haven't been able to put my finger on the exact cause of the lure of welding, but many a person has invested in welding equipment that they don't use all too often. But when you need it, a welder can be priceless. I liken welding to re-painting an old car. A lot of prep usually for just a few minutes of fun. Unless you have a project like RS or something. I have a fantastic setup at work but I only use it sparingly for my own projects.
