Drew I had to ease my mind after visualizing your fatty bacon and red nitrate hotdogs. Also if anyone is wondering if eating a plantbased diet is just lettuce and broccoli . . .

Don't feel all by your self. I have been doing this for almost 3 years. Will never go back, I feel much better. That is saying a lot from a guy that raised beef cattle for 20 years and hunted and fished more than most. Ed

Got the Gator motor purring again. Bought a JD tune up kit with plugs, gas filter, air filter, oil filter and oil for $48.

Cut a piece of hose long enough to run from the electric fuel pump to a gas jug and ran out the old gas. did the oil and filter change, had it up on jack stands and took off one of the rear rims because the valve stem had broken. Went and bought another valve stem and after breaking the bead with the FEL proceeded to try and install, but then dropped the new stem down inside the tire,,,,not enough room to get my hand in it to fish out the stem....(&$)%*(#W&)*)_(**#!!!! finally debeaded the whole tire to get it out and put in the stem and had trouble getting the thing to bead up again. Used the old trick, take out the stem's needle valve and just put the air hose's quick connect directly on the stem to maximize air flow into the rim. With a bit of luck, it beaded up. Put in some fresh gas, took it for a spin across the street and low and behold, they are having an all womens' rodeo competition across the street. Drew, I'd highly recommend it for most single guys, some of those jeans were painted on....

Somehow I pulled myself away from the sirens' song and came back home and power washed the gator inside and out. New tires are coming next week.

The seat for my FIL's 5420 was not the correct one. I wanted one with armrests, and so for another $24, they'll order one for it.

Had my daughter use the riding mower to do the open areas. She's getting fairly good at it. I got on the 4310 and did a bit of mowing, then got on the rider and finished up what she did not get to.

I invited the wifey to go for a gator ride, and I grabbed us a couple of imported Mexican beers. I had the Pacifico Clara, and she had the Victoria cerveza. I've been a fan of Pacifico for 35 years.

I still need to mow another 15-18 acres.....

Did you also see the research that came out this week concerning vegtable oils. None are good for heart disease. So if your Dr. recomends a vegtable oil instead of lard he is not up to date in nutritional research.

Conclusions
"Available evidence from randomized controlled trials shows that replacement of saturated fat in the diet with linoleic acid efectively lowers serum cholesterol but does not support the hypothesis that this translates to a lower risk of death from coronary heart disease or all causes."

The hypothesis that this occures is because of the fats oxidation effect on blood vessels.

My Cardiologist has been saying this for years - "ALL fats/oils are bad".

So today I went to a local farm auction, lots of old implements, a 53 Ford tractor, sold for around 2300. Anyway I needed a little lawn mower for in a fenced area and where my lawn tractor wants to kill me or gets no traction. They had a little 16", old thing, deck said 2 stroke so for all of $15 I brought it home. Took it out of the truck and started to look at it, should have done that before. Says Briggs and Stratton, didn't recall BS 2 strokes, so gee there is and oil filler so I guess it is not a 2 stroke after all, and missing one bolt holding the engine to the deck. Thought the gas looked clear. Anyway new gas and it fired up and cuts. Will add a bolt and hope it last a few years for the little area it will get to cover. Turns out BS did sell a 2 stroke in 91 but I guess someone stuck a differnt engine on this, won't complain for $15. Also bought a couple of wood hay cradles? Interesting old pieces.

Went car shopping, didnt get one.

Today is not a good day for a buyer.

"Worst Time to Buy
Historical statistics show springtime probably isn't the ideal time to buy a new car: More people are out and about as winter weather clears, and tax refund checks are warming consumers' pockets.

With summer days ahead, more shoppers with a little extra cash in hand are looking for their next new car — which means dealers don't need to offer quite as many discounts to entice those eager shoppers to buy." Welcome to USAA!

Truecar numbers are bogus. Dealer i went to has internet prices listed couple k under the truecar best value price.

Missed a good deal on a 2016 sonata closeout, 6k under msrp. They still got some, but not in colors i want. Test drove one, liked it.

Probably will get an elantra.

My understanding of TruCar is they try to get into your deal to get a kickback from the dealer you choose?

Good evening all. 60F this morning got up to 77F wind with mostly cloudy skies. Getting ready for trip, van is loaded with plywood, got all the hardware rounded from the seat, got boat hooked up, no trailer lights. Grounding pin on trailer plug is gone, so off to Oreillys to get new plug for trailer. Solder it on and what do you know , lights are working :)

I did not, but I already know that all fat is bad. I try to eat so that my diet is 75% starch and 25% veg whole food no fat or as close as you can. A few weeks ago I took my wife out to eat and she wanted to go to cracker barrel. I had some veggies and she had some veggies with a piece of country ham. My weakness has always been country ham so I tried a little piece. It did not taste good at all. My taste has changed. Feel better too. Ed

36 heading to 72 and sunny.

RS, that grapple looks awesome. Looks like you've already had a little fun with it in the dirt. Your thread on building it is quite informative.

Started working on adding on to my little post and beam tractor barn. Originally built it with no experience, drawing plans "on a napkin" 27 years ago as a goat barn, for storing hay, grain, room for a milking stand, plus built a feeding trough on one wall. Later converted it to use for horses, then most recently as a place to store garden tools and park my tractor. Never thought it would last this long. It is all board and batten from green pine cut at a nearly mill. To pull my tractor in, I took the right side wall boards off.

It has a shed style roof, and I plan to do a mirror image addition on the front. I'll take the front boards off, cut and reuse most of them on the new lower wall. I'll reuse the old right side boards on the new addition left side.

I used red cedar posts cut from my woods and now one has rotted through at ground level. So cut another 12 footer and placed adjacent yesterday. I was surprised how dry the ground already is while digging the hole. Also had to take down some adjacent gates and fencing. The carpenter bees were using one of the old cedar fence posts, and were not happy when I started hammering to remove fencing nails. I figured I'd give the few nails left until this morning when the bees are too cold to come out.

60°F and rain in North Texas. Lots of it. Lots and lots of it. We're expecting 12" + in the next 24 - 48 hours. Ouch. I have severe flooding already! Guess I know what I'll be doing after it stops.... Drainage work. Wish I was better at this. Been battling bad designed homesite for over a year now trying to figure out which way to push the rain. This attempt failed, on to the next one.
