It is sweet if I do say so for myself.
DAYUM! That is a sweet driveway grading job. Care to come teach me how to do that...

Well done sir! And welcome to the TMI good morning, good evening, good day thread...

Be well,
David

Okay, okay I am sorry I over reacted Thanks to wngsprd I thought it over. Guess I will hang. As for TMI when I see something too long to scan I will pass and anyone who sees me has the same right to just look over.
We have most of us had hard times. Ed that sounds like a bad kick you got. We lost our home in a tornado along with everyone else s on our street in 1990 and I lost three people I knew, One was a best friend but to loose a wife,,,,,,,,,WOW.
Enough said,
Today's stuff was finish up the gravel work.

Done,,,,,,,,,,,,, Graded flat and level with a nice crown. Then rolled it out for about an hour in all directions with Jim's (next door neighbor) 60" 600 lb + roller. It is sweet if I do say so for myself.

Here are some pictures of the drive. This is just the part I put in, the other 1/4 mile up to the road,,well that is another day.
Have a nice night.

Good day to work outside got 100 ton job done on to next about same side tomorrow just gravel install first. Even got paid grass mowing put off until Saturday. Owl outside raising sand maybe looking for mate. Big fish storm for weekend moving from north to south due to huge high pressure in Canada.

A real hazard to offshore fishermen

Good morning all. Another day of April showers ahead to keep the ground soft. At long last it has warmed up enough for the grass to stop sulking and to start to put on a good bit of growth. No doubt the weeds won't be far behind, for now though I am simply happy and relieved to see spring finally getting it's act together.

The salesman who sold me the Iseki and some other machinery is due to drop by this morning. I don't generally encourage home visits, although this guy is good to keep in with and I will be interested to hear why he has moved to a new dealer. I have no desire nor reason to be unfaithful to my Iseki, but if it is offered, who else could not resist a little peak at glossy ag machinery **** ?

41 this morning high of 64 later today with light breezes and now no rain in sight. Pollen is getting bad and my eyes and nose will not let me forget. Grass is very green but not growing too terribly fast

Always good to look at farm tractors and equipment Eric

Ed sorry about your loss so many years ago I could not imagine

   / Good morning!!!! #44,709
much chillier 37 degrees going up to low 60's today.
guests got in fine, they will be asleep for hours yet.
I am a morning person, they are night people. Been that way all our lives and
I've been Wayne's friend since 11th grade in High School.
We still laugh at each other's bad jokes...

I have a B&B style breakfast to make, so I'm headed down to chop fruit and cooking sausage while the guests sleep.
Then tonight they can take me out to dinner and I can relax. Lot of work cooking for guests who really like to eat and it's just me
doing it all. Luckily I like to cook and they like to eat. That all works well. What's really annoying is they are both thin...just not fair. ;)

Hopefully we will have a fun day working on the old Cub Cadet and planting veggies together.

And I feel much more blessed now, thank you all.

Kev/MKR, great driveway, like an advertisement for the driveway rake.

Great job on the driveway and nice to see your barn with green grass rather than snow.

So did you find a model you like? How much do you mow?

The Deere dealer had some nice X570 models, but wow, sticker shock...$5,999. I could probably get away with an X300 series, I have been able to make my L130 go 12 years and 600 hours with nothing major, just a lot of minor nagging problems. I mow 3 acres, including some hill work and trails...some of it is a little rough. I use my tractor and bush hog on the fields.

Interesting I went by the Kubota dealer to get a fuel filter and they only had zero turn models on the lot. I don't know much about them.

Good morning 33 degrees this morning, Got to get caught up on mowing today taking vacation days it works out good. My normal work week is 4 x 10 hour days so i vacate on thru and monday gives me 5 days off. I got to try to get to the creek and trout fish a little. The weather has been to bad to do any fishing so far everyone have a great day and be safe.

   / Good morning!!!! #44,713
Same here, Sam, I need some trout fishing real bad.

32 here, frost should slow the grass a bit...only hitting 58 but sunny.

Off to the vet for a check up for Coconino...then maybe a quick trip to the mountains for a hike since I got my chores done yesterday.

Billy, for mowing grass, the X300 is fine. If you want to pull a heavy cart or use a rototiller with it, I'd go the X500 series. I've owned the 300 (actually it's immediate predecessor with the same Kawasaki engine) and now the 700 because I wanted diesel and I'm mowing 5-8 acres every week.
On the JD's, trick is to get the optional Michigan suspension seat they offer. Best 600 bucks you will ever spend.
I couldn't use a zero turn because of my bad arm with arthritis.
Bottom line is a zero turn will mow your lawn about a third faster. They just haul butt, if you let them.
I found the conventional riders which now have 16-18 inch turning radiuses to be more comfortable to drive, can do so
with one hand on the knob on the wheel.
I highly recommend the JD garden tractors. Big investment but they seem to last. Just like a tractor.

Good Morning! 45F @ 4:30AM. Partly cloudy. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High near 65F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

David, you definitely get the globe trotter award for the week, maybe the month!

Glad to see us all back to one big, happy family.

Looks like a front came through overnight leaving behind almost a quarter inch of what must have been a very gentle rain. Didn't even make enough noise in the downspouts to wake me. Or maybe I was just really tired from all of yesterday's driving.

Ended up going to Woodland, CA for the donor van, and indeed it was walled up on a back patio behind a fence. Not much to look at with almost every body panel somehow dented, but the pop top was OK, and all the camper interior cabinets and fittings were mostly unmolested. Easily worth the asking price, and the U-Haul trailer brought an anticlimactic end to the adventure.

I'll be back in town this morning to shop for food for the weekend wrench fest, hopefully getting back in time to maybe try out that flail mower. If not today then Friday, but too many things are stacking up to get 'em all done in one day, and the first guests arrive in the afternoon.

Hang in there, Friday's comin...

Poured first cup of coffee. 63° with cloudy skies and a brisk breeze this morning. Heading to 77° with cloudy skies, winds and rain. Tourist activities may be limited today. Yesterday was a good day for viewing Canyonlands NP. Lots of pictures of great views. Hard to pick one. So here is one of Shafer Trail. Specks on right side of tail are bike riders.

34 headed for 60 here. Finished taxes last night, now back to more enjoyable things! On my 2nd cup of coffee, the chickens are running around the pasture, the deer don't seem to mind their company. Need to add some salt to the softener, change the filters, check out some other things. Have a good one!

   / Good morning!!!! #44,719
32.3F and very sunny @ 07:30 ... high for the day predicted to be 58F, but I'll bet we beat it.

Hose and fitting order from DHH is in route and scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Should be grapplin' by the weekend, assuming I can get the painting for the brackets and the wiring for the diverter valve done here in the next day or so.

Ran down the path/trail behind the polebarn yesterday and found a large aspen of the neighbor's had fallen across the trail, looks there are at least two more standing and rotted, ready to come down. Shoved the one that was down off to the side as best I could.

Need to refill the bird feeders and check on the bluebird houses and clean them out.

And about a bajillion other things ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, safe, and productive day.
