56 this morning and headed to 70 today. Well it might get warmer than that as its already 69.

Just getting up and going. As I spent most of the night sick to my stomach. Feeling better now but am sore. Will be washing trays and waiting on spreader truck. I called them this morning and they had a flat tire. Really need this litter on before all this rain this next week.

David good to here you're safe. Enjoy the stay. A little ridiculous on that wifi.

This site seems to be having issues today.
Well what a goat f&%k this is turning into. This gravel guy for some reason thought he could back a tractor trailer all the way down the lane to the house, 1/2 mile with many curves??????????????????????? NO F------ WAY!!!!!!!! So after squishing yard up all the way back to the big bend coming to the house I saw him and had a chat. Like where the heck is your 10 wheel straight dump truck??? So he said I guess I will go home and dump this and then bring it back in the straight truck. I found an area where he could dump the semi load without tearing the pi$$ out of his trailer and my trees and told him to un-load and go get the straight truck for the rest of the gravel. What was he thinking???? Took me about 40 minutes to fix and smooth the 20 ton he dumped with the JD but now all is ready for his next screw up. :mur:
So just waiting for him to get back with the next adventure!

Slow day here, cold and windy out, didn't get much of anything done.

I thought it was going to be a slow day here, and it wasn't at all. Called to see if rental place had an overseeder, they did, and I decided to go do that today. Picked up the unit with my trailer, brought it home, ran it for about three minutes and the belt broke. Grrrrr Back into the trailer, back to the rental place, no they didn't have another belt but could I use the dethatcher instead. Almost the same unit and the wire wisk ends did a perfect job of leaving a quarter inch of fine soil to plant grass seed in. So I got about thirty pounds of contactor mix down. Take back the dethatcher, came home filthy dirty and headed for a long hot shower. Tomorrow I'll water the seed.

Huge numbers of purple wisteria blooming along the roads, hanging from trees; very pretty.

Spent the day burning trees. Got finished up and discovered I ripped the screen out of the right fender on the Kubota somehow. I will have to look into how to fix that.

RNG, if you want to know what the guns are bringing at big auctions go to Guns for Sale - Online Gun Auction - Buy Guns at GunBroker.com and do a search for each model. Tax time is generally a good time to sell.

Buckeye, any decision on the job offer yet?

Interesting events on the job front. Had been working with company x for awhile, trying to land a position on a contract, but it hadn't worked out. Company Y contacted me for a position that also didn't pan out. Then they had this other opening.

After 2 interviews for that position, company x came back with another opportunity that I really wanted. I told them I had something in the works, but if they come in first, I'd take it.
Last thr I had a 3rd level interview with company Y, friday they told me I had the job.
Today I talked to company X, they now have approved my hire.

So, now I have 2 jobs to pick from, it didn't get any easier.
But it's best to look for a job when you have a job.

No decision tonight, it's my anniversary.

Well I was about halfway through composing a post this morning after I got up and got a call for ride home from a friend who was having vehicle issues.

Stopped by the shop on the way back in and it was all over ... back to salt mines for rest of the day ... :D

Grapple thread updated with the last two days progress ...

Time for a little NYPD Blue.

Wow, 2 offers at once. I would be praying about it. I hope whichever you choose turns out well.

Farmer, no fun being sick, get well! Roy too.

RNG, sounds like you have a handle on it. Good advice on gunbroker.

It's late, I'm tired, good night all.

10 degrees right now...high of 33 today.
I'm still fighting this cold...can't say I have much interest in leaving the house today, but I stayed home yesterday...don't want to miss two days

Good morning. No rain today, it's an almost perfect day with little wind and a clear blue sky. So there I was, keen to get back outside, when I had my plans almost scuppered by catching up on TBN...

Naps seam to be much more fun the last week or two. I used to never take a nap now I look forward to them. Think I might get one this afternoon.

In the same way that yawns are contagious, hearing Ed and the rest of you contemplating taking a nap has my eyelids drooping, yet it's far too early in the day for me to be putting my feet up. This pre-meditated, sleep inducing talk is plain cruel to those of us that need to get on with things. Just use a little consideration and think what you are doing to other people next time :).
Only kidding, I enjoy a nap along with everyone else, in fact if they made it an Olympic sport I reckon I could be in with a chance of qualifying for the GB team, although I doubt if I would collect any medals - unlike Ed who seems to be in training for a gold.

There seem to be two forms of herbicide resistance. One caused mostly by bad practices allowing plants to build up genetic resistance. The other form is from "Environmentalists" who tend to resist any chemical control of plants. Picking up our farming weekly paper yesterday I see headlines that Environmentalists have scored another victory - Europe has refused to renew the licences for manufacturers to sell glyphosate. The European Food Safety Authority had proposed to renew approval until 2031, but the Environment Committee said no. Now it's left to the EU Parliament to sort out the consequences as other key herbicides have recently been banned too. No doubt companies making ploughs and flame guns will be delighted.

Cheer up Roy, that cold will go soon. At those temperatures I bet most people envy you having a good excuse to stay at home and watch tv.

47 going up to 50 today and then diving down to freezing tonight, freeze and fire warnings out.
I have a lot of new grass seed to water, then off to a friend's whose mower won't start to see what i can do.
Will take mine along no matter what.
And then back to my own weedeating.

Suffered a bit of a setback when the heavyduty lines of my push weedeater found the end of a row of old barbed wire and wound that wire up in a heartbeat and stalled
the motor. Lovely. I just left it where it sat yesterday; today i go out there with Kevlar gloves and a cutter and start snipping away.
The little Cub Cadet/MTD push weedeater works quite nicely, but clearly gets indigestion when trying to eat a double strand of barbed wire.
Really can't blame it for that.

David/Sodamo, how are you doing?
