Any other bear pictures to share?

No new bear pictures so far. We haven't taken down the bird feeders so hope
there are no surprise visits when I don't have a camera ready.

40 deg F this morning and rain which is forecast to continue throughout the day
and into Tuesday. Hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter Sunday. We had our
family Easter gathering on Saturday because of busy schedules of the kids and
grandkids.

66°F and no rain last 24 hours.

Great Easter gathering yesterday, about 62 people. Some awesome food apparently as most dishes were cleaned out. Two homemade Bunny cakes graced the dessert lineup.
Running around today trying to get things done before trip tomorrow. Taking my generator water pump down to the bearing shop to see if they can replace bearings while I'm gone.

Be safe
Have a great day

Just put a down payment on a JD X310 lawn tractor. It is a 2015 so it is over $1000 off the 2016 X370, same thing different deck design. From what I could tell at he dealer I like it. If I go back sat morning I can get a coupon for $250 off of that and will work the deal after I get the coupon. Also will get a coupon for accessories, I think that one is $150. I keep getting ready for this move but it looks like things will be slower than I wish. Ed

Hi guys. Been trying to catch up with the thread, finally did. Roy, get well, all you other guys, take it easy, I'm trying myself.

I have been dealing with my sister, my folks, and the rest of my life, in no particular order. My sister is a alcoholic, a highly functional one, but at 54, it's not fun for her or anybody around her. She went into see her parole officer, she was on a court mandated machine that she has to blow into, 2x per day. She showed positive on the download at the po office. She was given 2 hours to go home and change, before going to jail for 5 days. She went home and changed, then bought a bottle of taqulia, arriving at the po office quite drunk. She told the po if she was going to jail for being drunk, she wanted to do it right. The po was not amused. After jail, she is starting sobriety court, a 18 month program, intensive, run by a judge. If she fails there, it's a year in jail. Her husband is supportive, which is good, but he has his own drama. I pray that this works. Her life is a mess due to alcohol.

Meanwhile, I visited my folks in Florida, they are 81 & 80. My mom needs a new knee put in, she has halready had one done. When that happens, I am going down there for a couple of weeks. My dad is a lot of things, but one of those things is being a old drunk. He won't drink around me, due to previous arguments. But he goes up to the local bar, and recently has had the bartender take his keys away a couple of times. That is not good, but I am going to get in contact with that guy and give him a good $$$ tip. Dad denies everything, nothing new there.

I have been having some digestive issues. Probably going to the docs in a week or 2. I think my family might have something to do with this. I am working on a new project, restoring a older craftsman mower. I am going to take some pics this time, I swear!!

Have a good one, guys!

Back from a college visit. 2100 miles over 6 days. Could do a good rant on drivers, but I'll just skip that part since they missed me.

Beautiful but windy day driving up from middle TN today. Flowering trees real pretty. Was in a hard rain on the way down friday, so pulled off for lunch, texted an old friend in the town, and he came over for a visit as we waited for the rain to let up. This guy helped me a lot when I built my house 19 yrs ago.

Got to visit with my oldest son, and the youngest got to visit a class to see what college is like. Went to a great show sat night put on by the college kids.
Was a good mini vacation, now back to work.

Hi, Not much to say anyone would care about. All is well on the North Bluff. Wishing the warmer weather could take hold.
We had a good time yesterday at the some day maybe SIL's folks place. Then it started raining and we came home.

Sounds like hard times. Just remember you can't fix them and you can't carry the load they try to put on you. Release it to The Higher Power. He alone can carry it. I need to listen to my own words. Ed

As my boy Jimmy Buffett says, "Life is just a tire swing", the best we can hope is that the rope holds and we don't hit the tree too hard. Godspeed to all going through hard times.

Good evening all. 40F calm and clear with steam fog over the lake. Wind pick up for a while today, but backed off about 3pm and temps rose to 66F with clear skies. choir practice this morning, bike ride, nap and mowing ( along with some stick raking).

Ha ah, Sodamo, I'm glad your Easter dinner turned out good. Ours, not so. Before we could eat, one was taken to the hospital for an emergency Appendectomy and another passed out from dehydration. I asked if we were going to do a redo but I think they are scared to come down from Dallas again. :confused3:

I went to Discount Tire today so they could rotate and balance the tires on the Sube - he asked me how my day was going - I said great I haven't had a flat on their tire in a month - as he was checking the tread wear he pointed out a nail stuck in the tire. :confused3:

Our grandson went home last night, so this house is a much quieter place this morning. Rain over the holiday limited the amount of time he got to play outside, although that did give us the chance to watch Paddington Bear with him, very funny if you like that sort of thing Paddington Meets The Brown Family - Clip - On DVD, Blu-ray and Download March 23rd. - YouTube .

Nothing like your 6" of rainfall Larro, although our ground is saturated again, with worms wriggling onto the grass to try and escape drowning. Birds never had such an easy breakfast, they are back in the trees and must be near snapping the branches with such an abundance of food.

Roy and Coco - how about you both make today a no Frisbee day. Roy, that film has Nicole Kidman playing a taxidermist who wants to stuff everything, so don't watch it unless you are sure your new pacemaker can handle it ;) . Coco, don't worry if wngsprd lets you watch it, she doesn't really stuff any cute animals :).

300UGUY - maybe some frivolous Frisbee is just what you need.

much cooler morning, 44 going to mid 60's today. Nice day today and tomorrow, then wet weather comes in.

Irv, my genuine sympathies; you really have your hands full. Alcohol turned my bright lovely mother into a vegetable and she died 45 years ago at age 51. All the best treatments in the world can't help if something inside doesn't want to get there, or is too strong to conquer. Good luck with your family; this happens to so many folks and we don't talk about it, but it's out there. Socially acceptable drug use, just like socially accepted smoking. Times have changed, many folks haven't. All you can do is try to help. Most drinkers, like seriously obese folks, don't want to hear about their issues and get defensive immediately, or go into denial. I can handle this... well, no you can't, nor can your families who love you and are suffering. off my soapbox, touched a nerve...

my new Swedish (Norwegian?) Stressless chair gets delivered today. It's hard for me to find a comfortable place to sit with my bad back, neck and arthritis issues. So realizing I needed a new recliner to replace the fifteen year old inexpensive vinyl monster in the den, decided to get a good chair for reading. Gave the old one to my cleaning lady and a spot is now ready. I hope this afternoon to see if I can take a nap in that chair and it will be my primary Kindle spot.

Otherwise some errands to run today and then I'll do some raking and cleanup around the house. The "kids" who work for me are fine, but why do I see the sticks on the ground and they can't?...I really do need to use my trash grabber more; all the bending over catches up with me by dinner time.

42 going to 64 and more wind.

Coco seems much better, thanks - full speed on the test throws, but she did howl later when just walking and making a quick direction change.

300U, glad you're back and hope things work out for your sister.

Good Morning from Newton, Iowa! 39f @ 6: 45 AM. Partly cloudy and windy. High 63F. Winds SE at 20 to 30 mph.

Ah, the joys of traveling. After two weeks of catching up on maintenance and repairs at my mom's home, a time interspersed with entertaining and alarming revelations from both the neighbors and the house itself, it's finally time to come home. The truck's loaded to the gills with everything from wheel weights to a floor safe, and rides like a Cadillac as a result, and last evening found me in Newton, Iowa. During my stay in Ohio I took the time to prepare a hearty crock pot stew, the frozen remnants of which I extracted from the freezer yesterday morning and threw into a cooler in anticipation of a late arrival at some roadside accommodation. America's Best Value got the nod, as it has so many times in the past, but this particular one seems more challenged than the typical budget hostel. Yeah, I get the fact that 2nd world standards don't play well in the Home of the Brave, and am willing to forgive a certain amount of roughing it for an appropriate budget kindness, but imagine my shock when the room contained neither a refrigerator nor a microwave. So much for my well laid plans of a home cooked meal unless I wanted to eat it like a frozen meat'n'potatoes version of Baskin Robbins finest. A call to the front desk elicited promises of hardware delivered promptly, but after two Fat Tires and almost an hour there was no relief in site. Another call was finally heard, and ten minutes later both implements of destruction were ensconced in this road warrior's temporary domicile. The microwave even came with three pieces of crusty bread riding a paper plate, but who am I to complain as long as the darn thing works? And work it did, and the heater, too, and after all, what's adventure touring without a bit of adventure, even if it is aboard an F250? Which incidently just keeps rumbling along, chewing up the miles with not one complaint.

Weather wise, today looks good, but it looks like I'll be just in time for snow on Wednesday in the Rockies. And more of it than was forecast just yesterday. If I can make Evanston tonight I'll be able to get over the Continental Divide before the worst of it hits, but that would mean a 1000 mile day. The best I've managed so far is 750, and I'm not exactly off to an early start. Probably end up in Cheyenne tonight, then call it then. One option is to go south from there, but it would be a huge detour.

Billy, glad that Coco is on the mend. Like one of your kids getting hurt...
RNG, this could be a Travels With Charlie book in the making. But you have to get home safely first. Fair weather all the way.
and on my last trip to PA, when I treated myself to what I thought was a nice residential suites place for three days, and was met with all kinds of hair on the bathroom floor from the prior occupant, it was really skeevy. And they took two days to clean it up. Housekeeping was so bad the manager credited me with a day off my bill and was hugely embarrassed by what happened. Standards for sure were not met, and RNG as you see, are not met all over the place...so paying more doesn't necessarily get you more. Higher class bugs? And I don't think that free breakfast is really free...
