71 and headed for 80? Really nice day out there. 2nd cup of coffee going, then off to brunch in the ville ( Fowlerville ). Couple good diners there, Olden Days Cafe, and the Feedbag. Then off to Costco in Brighton.

Have a good one!

Good Morning{just barely}. 1155, mostly cloudy, 81F with 72% humidity. Forecast high of 85F with rain chances of 33-83% this afternoon, and a low of 68F tonight. My string of late night events is over. I have a family reunion today, so if I stay up to 0130, it because I want to, not because I have to. But I have a feeling I'll have got several hours of sleep by then.

The trimmer is a Stihl FS250 and usually has the brush blade on it. About 5-6 times a year I need string to clean-up along the chain link fence and around some big rocks. It's really way more trimmer size and weight than would be wanted for normal yard trimming if I did it very often. It has a shoulder harness and bicycle handles and will do some serious brush & heavy weed cutting, or saplings with the saw bade on.

Maybe I should get a smaller trimmer dedicated to the light-duty stuff and teach Sharon how to use it.

I have basically the same machine, but mine is branded Solo. We bought it in 2000, and other than a busted fuel bubble, never had any trouble with it. I used to do yards on the side, and would go through a light duty trimmer ever couple of years. This one is a bit heavy, but it will do whatever needs doing. I have the blade, but I very rarely put it on. I'm one of those crazies who loves nothing better than cutting brush with a hand saw:eek: I don't get as much done, but it sure feels good when you're finished. And I bought an electric trimmer for Marie to do right around the front porch. It works good for her, but is a little too short for me. The part that is supposed to extend doesn't extend.

Everyone have a good day.

Yep! Best name for a bar I've ever heard. They make a few bucks selling t shirts, I've heard of folks coming from Lansing and A2, just to have a beer and buy the t shirt. Decent little neighborhood bar, they host euchre tournaments, and have a couple pool tables. Kind of the local gathering spot for folks. We had one priest who would walk down there, have a couple beers, talk to the locals.

We used to take Michigan Avenue from Detroit burbs to East Lansing (MSU) just to make the stop on our way back to school after semester breaks. No real reason, but IIRC, the burgers were pretty good.

:) :) I think you mean Grand River Avenue. Grand River runs from Detroit to Lansing, and I think to Grand Rapids. Michigan Avenue runs from Detroit to Chicago, going thru Ypsi, and EMU, where I went to school. The goat burgers are pretty good, but too sloppy for me. And they aren't made from goats...:)

It's been a looooong time since I made that drive, so I'll defer to your local knowledge over my memory.
