Hey guys get this, Brian my neighbor and I went and got the tank. Man it is nice almost new pump but only 15 gal not 20 like I thought, auto shut off handle and everything works like it should. But get this,,, the thing has 70 + gallons of off road diesel fuel in it already. When you take out the cost of the fuel already in it I only have about $145 in the whole system.

I think I hit the lotto on this one. The fuel looks clean and smells just fine. I still am going to have it checked before I dump it into the tractor but it looks to be fine. I need to get a plastic battery box for the battery and run a ground line to the tank from the shed wiring.

Here it is set in place in the cold side of the shed. :)

Guess I hit the lotto on this one. I will post a picture

RNG, snow? keep it please, though I've got yellow snow coming down, amazing pine pollen dump that hopefully will get washed away by the incoming rain.

Well the snow seems to have stopped, at least for now. But it also looks like it's moving your way.

I'm not a snow person, either, as it's just another reminder why I decided to leave Ohio oh so many years ago.

Wow thast is a lot of PVCs, do you notice some are harder than others?
I'm sure some are ... but like I said I usually don't really notice it.

The only time I tend to notice them at all, is when I'm fairly inactive (watching tv or similar) and my attention tends to be focused on my body.

I was getting worried because about 1 in 10 - 10% heartbeats were fluttering (feeling) because of PVCs.
That isn't necessarily abnormal ... most of the population experiences at least some PVC's on a fairly regular basis ... and up to 20,000 PVC's (out of roughly 100,000 beats per day) can be considered benign. However, heart docs tend to be concerned (some overly, some might say) when they see it in someone who has or had heart problems ... especially if it's in a high quantity (like me :D)

There is some evidence apparently that strenuous exercise can cause increased levels of PVC's.

Benign PVCs: A heart rhythm doctor's approach.

It does feel better with only 1 or 2 per day.
I'd imagine so.

The Dr. last year (after I wore a monitor for 4 weeks) said they were normal but I don't like them.
They certainly can be a bit disconcerting ... especially if one has had heart problems ...

From my own personal perspective, one has to weigh the stress involved with being overly concerned vs. the lack of stress when one isn't.

Doing whatever one can to reduce or eliminate them is a good thing in my book and probably causes no harm ... assuming one isn't obsessing over it.

Have you tried reduction of caffein.
Yeah ... I'm down to one or two cups of coffee per day (from 2 or 3 pots per day :D) ... and I typically don't drink soft drinks (Coca-cola, etc.)

I will admit that I do drink some iced tea in the summer quite a bit ... probably should cut that out.

Some people (me) have a sensitivity to caffeine.
It's a stimulant ... so really no surprise that it alters the body's processes ... some folks are probably more sensitive to it (or simply just more aware of their sensitivity to it) than others.

mkr,

Nice score.

Get a filter plumbed in and then run that pump for a while back into the tank to clean up the fuel

Be mindful of the duty-cycle of the pump tho' ... ;)

Don't worry about the critter, worry about the SPACE ALIEN THING in the first pic. That thing looks  Ed

When I view that photo, I was thinking the same thing. Looks like recent sightings in NH.

Weather wise, it looks like we may dodge a bullet this Sunday into Monday. Major northeaster
now reduced to maybe dusting to an inch in south-eastern NH.:cool2:

This:

... It made me and my heart feel "weird", I would describe mine similarly as you do the PVC's, and when you get a weird feeling in your heart, the anxiety makes it worse.
The anxiety isn't good ...

So doing what one can to reduce or eliminate PVC's is appropriate ... but barring eliminating them completely, one should then reconcile oneself to the fact that they may well be benign ... particularly in light of any confirming diagnosis, by an appropriate heart doc.

Stress is bad ... because of the hormones it causes the body to release, which alter the body's normal physiology - including that of the heart.

... RS sorry to hear so many issues with alarm upgrades , sounds like other security measures are coming along nicely :drink:
Thanks ... we'll get it all sorted out eventually.

Great score, Kev
Good advice to filter the fuel. Even if you discard that filter, pretty cheap.

Thanks guys. It has a like new filter on it already if you look you can see it. I Talked to my friend in the know that worked for BP and is a fuel engineer for them?

He said this,,,,,

" If it is red, it is off road stuff. ( heck I knew that ) Look at it in the light and see if it is cloudy. It should be red and translucent. It should not be cloudy. Then stick in frig cool to 32F-35F look for cloudiness. There should be no cloud"
So I will check it out. When I looked at it today, I pumped some out and after the bubbles came out it was crystal clear in the bucket. I will put some in a jar and put it in the fridg, and see how it looks.
Have a good night guys!!!

The space craft or aliens in the first coyote picture is actualy a reflection of a lamp inside the house. I took the pic inside through a double plate glass window. Good catch guys.

. . .I always wanted to be a little fat and very happy . . . .

I see you have associated a restricted diet with sadness. All you need is a good cook Drew.

Not getting any tiling done. Just enough rain, on and off to prevent that. Thinset doesn't work too well with rain washing it away.
The good news is making good progress on taxes LOL

Don, that coyote ignored your rock fence line....
I have heard tales of coyotes sending 1 of them in to lure out the lone security dog and then pack attack when they get away from their protective dwelling.

hope your PVC's are back down to none.

I know how my wife would look if she caught me putting a jar of diesel in the fridge... Good luck !

Good morning all. The sun is not supposed to favour either side of the equator today. Here it has managed to light up the sky but that's about all, thick cloud keeping it in check.

Drew, could you take a few basic provisions with you and instead of coming straight back home, turn that long return trip with your new travel trailer into an adventure, stopping along the way for a night or two ?

Recently I have spent far too much time in the evenings looking at welding machines, trying to decide which to go for. A simple inverter arc welder is my main requirement. Our standard supply from every wall socket is 230V, so no problem getting one that will easily handle 1/8" rods. This website's sponsors, Everlast and Longevity, are not available in the UK and the smaller machines from Lincoln and Millar are more than twice the price of most others, so I have ended up going with a Parweld 160. Parweld have been around for a while making welding torches, so I figured they wouldn't want to harm their reputation by buying in stick welders from China that are poor quality. With that and an ESAB light reactive helmet, as recommended by a friend who welds for a living, I am all set today to start practicing how to turn good steel into scrap.

Good morning all. Eric, hope that welder does well for you.
Roy, some of my friends are at the sugar maple festival in highland co va this weekend. You and I will just have to hold down he fort I guess. You hold down your end and I'll hold down mine.
Sodamo, good luck on the taxes, one job I gladly pay someone else to do so I won't have to.

33 here this morning going to 42. All of the snow we got yesterday, about 1 in, left us during the night. It is pretty but not sad to see it go. Chance of flurries today but don't expect much.

Have a great day. Ed

36 going to 42..never got any snow, but it is promised again tonight...so it must be spring!

Got another field bush hogged yesterday. Then got my blade trimmer running and tackled some more brush in the next field over when it started to rain.

Glad to see our teams are still alive in the NCAA...all gave us a scare.

Windsprd, are you roasting your own green beans? Now you have me curious...can you explain the equipment used, how much you roast at one time? The house must smell fabulous...assuming one likes coffee and we know we both do.

I started roasting my own coffee back in June after visiting some roasters in Washington and Oregon, and caught the bug. I did a great deal of research on roasting and roasters, and bought a small drum roaster that runs on 120V. I started ordering green beans from a couple of importers. It's not hard, and it is amazing the variety of flavors depending on the beans and the roast profile that you apply. I roast a half pound at a time.

When the weather is nice, I roast on the porch, but in the winter have been roasting on top of the stove under the exhaust fan. The aroma is wonderful, like baking cookies, but better. It is hard to be objective when one is the roaster, but I must say that I've never had better coffee then my own fresh roast...and my wife agrees :).
