45 now and not going any higher. Should see some rain and then snow.

Hoping to get some bush hogging done before the rain hits.

Kev FTN, nice catch at the auction...I think I have seen Ritchie Bros on a RFD channel TV show...big tractors and equipment.

Roasted some coffee yesterday, then took Coco for a nice long hike at the battlefield park, and then went with wife Costco shopping and to Tex-Mex for some chile relleno. Glad I haven't had any known ill effects from coffee...I do love a couple of mugs each morning. Research shows many beneficial health qualities, but I know the caffeine can sometimes be a problem.

Don never got to PVC's, but caffeine was sending me to the water closet every hour. Now only 1 or 2 cups of 50/50 mix of regular and decaf in the morning plus iced tea when we eat out.

Kev nice tank :)

Ed before the wife and I moved to Texas last June we had 3 acres and a nice house on a hill (for 30 yr). Now we live in a house 1/3 smaller and 1/3 acre lot. Still have stuff to divest ourselves of. :ashamed: :confused2:

Thanks,
I have to admit this has me stressed. For the first 30 years I had 707 ac of family land + Uncle and grandpa had another 500 Ac on each side of us. Driveway was 9/10 of a mile long and if you went to the right spot you could see a pole light over 2 miles away. Moved around and ended up on 2.27 ac with another 3 ac or so to take care of for my wife's mother. The place we are moving to is tiny. The shop will fill the back yard and there is a good 20' on each side between houses. BUT I have been having PVC's or something ever since they messed with my BP meds. They raised the dose and my heart went nuts, I quit taking it and it stopped. Went on another and it went nuts again. 3 or 4 rounds of that and we found one that seemed to work. After a few years my heart went nuts and stayer that way. Fluttering feeling in my chest and always short of breath. Have no way to afford insurance so..... Downsizing looks like the only choice we have. Need a bigger house for the med equipment we have to have and for peace for my brother in law. Should hear last bit we need today to finish deal.

We have a morning temp of 47 and the hige today should be about 44. 100% chance of snow taday with up to 1/2" on the ground same tonight. Ed

You're working up to a D-.:teacher:
Is the grading system in the UK the same as here - A,B,C,D,F with a possible pluss or minus after each?

Thanks, I would offer an :apple: for the teacher, but unsure if in your country that is now classified as attempted bribery and get me deported.

Generally exam grades are by letter, with A* (pronounced as A star) being the top grade.

The advice for the last exams I took at school was to always write down how you worked the answer out, then you could still be given a few marks, even if the answer was incorrect. Not sure if that still applies.

For many years I have worked as an engineer, again you have to show the working out - this time to keep the ISO9001 quality assessors happy. Strangly, most of them don't seem to worry if the answer is right or wrong, although customers can get quite pickey about that sort of thing.

Now I'm involved with agriculture, I found the external assessor couldn't care less that you have the correct answer, but they will beat you with the biggest financial stick they can swing if your working out is not in accordance with Appendix 3, 5 & 6 of every document in their posession. Can't be long before they teach pointless bureaucracy as a school subject in it's own right. Rant over, I feel much better now :)

Good morning. It's overcast here and a little chilly in the easterly wind, but thankfully still dry. Not sure if it's just wishful thinking, grass looks as if it is finally starting to grow.

RNG That must be why they call it a tether, because they knew that you would be at the end of it by the time you got it working. I know that house clearing at a distance feeling. In my case I didn't quite finish and ended up offering the buyers, who hadn't much spare cash, all the contents in exchange for them doing the work, which fortunately they accepted.

heat back on, a/c off, cooler day, 53 going to 67 in rain headed our way later this morning.
i'm going to try to get the burn pile lit since there is little wind and rain is coming. I always like Mother Nature to put out the ashes, if she will...

Windsprd, are you roasting your own green beans? Now you have me curious...can you explain the equipment used, how much you roast at one time? The house must smell fabulous...assuming one likes coffee and we know we both do.

Geez all these heart issues to worry about. Let's see, I can't eat sugar, I can't eat added salt, I can't eat fat and if I drink my favorite coffee, admittedly to a bit of excess (my arthritis meds make me a little groggy and the coffee does a great job keeping me sharp) (he thinks...) well then my heart is going to be going wild. The good thing is, I don't think I've ever had a PVC or heart murmur or whatever they are. But if I did I think it would worry me. Very important muscle to keep happy...

Don, in that thread I started named Diabetes, I asked what I could eat to get good protein, that was low carbs and low fat. And of course delicious, easy to prepare, etc and if possible, not from animals.
I can get rid of the fat easily, but not the carbs, and seemingly vice versa. I'm reading the labels on everything now...am amazed how much sugar is snuck in there as ingredient three four or five.

When food shopping I bought a few Atkins meals that were on sale. Seems if you eat two of them you might get a real portion...I'm 220 pounds and a six ounce dinner is not going to cut it.

Firmed up plans to drive back up to PA on Monday, after most of the crummy weather has passed, to pick up my travel trailer on Tuesday. Then The Longest Day trying to bring it home, likely over ten hours. And then, he said with tongue in cheek, when I have my trailer parked in my front yard I'll look just like a native Carolinian. I'm likely to store it at one of the mini storage places nearby, though I'm looking down at my barn, eyeballing the two open shed roofs on each end, and wondering if the trailer will fit under one of those shed roofs. I don't think I have enough height. The Kubota will just fit under with the cab, maybe...but I think the a/c unit of the trailer would meet its demise. Sure going to measure that carefully...would be really neat to get the unit under cover. Rubber roof will last longer out of the sun for sure.

Good morning! Wind at 20mph from the north as our temps dropped 20˚ overnight with no rain. 48˚ and cloudy.

Drew, if I had diabetes I would trust Dr. Barnard for the best info avalible. I have heard him speak on several occasions and he has a book out named "Dr. Neal Barnards's Program for reversing Diabetes". It is suppose to be three times more effective than the American Diabetes Association dietary guidelines at controlling blood sugar. It also has about 50 recipes.
