Be safe

53 going to 63.

Nice sunrise, Eric, and pretty countryside.

Son and GF from NC are visiting. After they head out to mountains for a hike this morning, will go back and finish up the oak tree I cut down yesterday...one more load left to bring in, then split and stack before the rain gets here, I hope.

Had a very easy drive up to Milton Delaware and am watching a fairly cloudy sunrise. My friend's coffee pot just beeped so that takes priority...ah, much better. We've been having long talks about avoiding diabetes, been going over his seed catalogs of unusual vegetables, and are going to enjoy a quiche that looks like it came out of Bon Appetit.

My friends are genuine foodies, love wine, love to cook, and they are so thin and tall....so unfair. Nothing sticks to them, which of course isn't totally true, they eat fairly healthy food. Though they were the ones who ate this enormous chocolate dessert last night at the restaurant, not me... We went out to a local fish restaurant, the pork special of all things was simply excellent and better pulled pork than I've had in NC. Take that Dixie Pig! Lean and smokey, yum.

Checking into a nice hotel at a bargain rate near where I used to live in Newtown PA. Sorry RNG, I wish you could stay here tonight for a break. My sister is out of town, in California buying a rather amazing house on the beach in Muir Beach so I decided to stay over on the PA side of the river. The traffic around Princeton and Route 1 is so bad I try to avoid the whole area.

What is not good is my neck did not do well with yesterday's drive, and despite a soft collar this morning, not a happy camper. Makes me wonder if looking for an rv trailer is a bright idea. I think if I restrict my driving to less hours a day it would work, but just below where they put in 4 inches of titanium in my neck, for sure is seriously unhappy. Just like the surgeon said it would be. He was a good guy; everything he said would happened did. Felt better for a year, now just getting worse from the weight of my fat head sitting on it. About the only time I think I'd like to have a pin head...:D

I'm 65 and holding, for one more day...and feeling about 100 right now. Maybe a tylenol would help but this is nothing new; I have a pretty high pain tolerance by now. Just need to keep on truckin'

Just had a homemade blueberry muffin with big juicy blueberries in it, along with my coffee.
Life is good.
Have a great weekend.

Good Morning. 0625, partly cloudy, 62F with 98% humidity. Forecast high of 80F with 20% chance of rain today, and a low of 63F tonight. {this is Bristol weather. The Blountstown station if off-line this morning}

I've got to get into work early to set up for the Turkey Federation folks. Tonight is their annual auction. Not a good morning for my bad back to raise it's ugly head. And my crud is back in force this morning. Oh well, I guess I need to make up for all the years of good health I've enjoyed.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Coffee is done brewing. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 71° with lots of sun and a north breeze. Should be a good day to attend the Antique Engine and Tractor Show.
Kyle, will not be leaving for another month. Then visits to my brother and others on the way home. May to make it home by May 1.
Drew, just about any TP will work in a RV. Do not waste your money on the over priced RV stuff. To test, drop a sheet into a glass of water. Stir it with a spoon. If it breaks up easily. Then it is good for a RV or septic system. Enjoy your trip.
Good Morning All.

Good morning! 58˚ only partly cloudy - the week long rain event is over so it's back to the paver sidewalk project. The self imposed deadline of one month still looks possible.

I finished replacing all the rusted out parts on my Dad's chain link gate. All the new things he put in new when he retired in his late 50's he figured they would last 30 years so he would not have to replace them. He was right on both accounts.

Eric, that looks like an UK countryside, I think it's the muted morning light that you captured.

My sciatica is talking back this morning, along with my knee that flared up a couple of weeks back, but oh well, beats feeding the worms!:D

Drew, Drew, Drew, you just haven't been to the right BBQ place in NC, stop in the northeastern corner at some little joint on the side of the road. If you want lean and smokey, you don't really want eastern Carolina que, it needs a little fat to do it's thing! Seriously, outside of northeastern NC and southeastern Virginia, I've had maybe 3 good BBQ sandwiches, that I would consider NC style. I like other styles also, but don't tell me you're serving NC style and show up with red sauce. BBQ rant over...

Mid 40's this morning, big uptake from the 60's yesterday morning, mid 60's later.

50.2F and clear as a bell ... only supposed to hit a high of 59 today and overcast, but I'll bet we see 60F at least.

Picked up PVC P-Trap and a new photocell for the HPS light at The Depot yesterday.

Started to replace the photocell and that went as wrong as it possibly could. Insulation on some of the wires inside the fixture - including the one attached to the socket - were cooked to the point that the insulation was cracking and falling off. So I decided to remove the socket and see if I could find one on the website of the big box stores. Squeezed the two metal clips that hold it in and one of them disintegrated.

So off to the local hardware to see if they had anything, nada. Next stop was the much larger ACE about 6 miles down the road ... they had a two piece, screw-together socket that looked it should work ... $5. Then stopped at the local hardware on the way back to grab a set of wire strippers that I forgot to get previously. Grabbed a Xenon replacement bulb for the 3 cell Mag Lite while I was at it.

When I got back home the sun was starting to get low in the sky and dinner needed made so, since it wasn't supposed to rain today, I let it ride until today.

Probably get some seat time in today, working on consolidating piles of yard waste into the compost pile. Just too nice to pass up the opportunity.

Had a good day today, helped my wife out at her shop, then home to take care of the chickens and goat. Cleaned up the barn area, added to this years compost pile. I let it rot for 2 or 3 years before I use it. Then back working on my Craftsman lawn mower, I am having a bit of a problem with the drive belt. I got a drive belt the correct length, but it seems to long. I might have to break down and get the official belt from Sears.
