Good Morning. sorry, I mean Afternoon. 1225, sunny, 83F with 42% humidity. Forecast high of 82F with 20% chance or of rain today, and a low of 59F tonight. {Marianna weather, Blountstown and Bristol stations taking the day off} All I got of the promised rain was a few sprinkles about midnight. By the time I got off work at 0330, it was already starting to clear. I may ran some sprinklers today. I'm Jonesing for sprouts in my garden. Got to get those seeds wet.

This is Margie's first day off in three weeks. Early voting is good for the folks, but it stretches her small staff mighty thin. Tuesday is the actual election day, then she can catch her breath until the primaries in August.

The plan is for shrimp, spinach and pasta, plus a spinach fruit salad for a late lunch, then an early night at the camp. With some gardening mixed in there somewhere. The grass in the backyard needs cutting, but Mocha is a dog. She expects to deal with some hardships in life. She will have to deal with this one for another week or so.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Edit: today we will also find out where in the NIT the Noles will be playing. Four years of missing the Big Dance is tough on the fans, but I can't even imagine what the Seniors on the team are going through.

64ーF and 3.16 inches rain last 24 hours. Looks like another day of the same.

My diesel generator has developed a very unpleasant sound and quit. Need to get a diesel guy to check it out. My gas Ridgid now taking up the slack from lack of sun.
Safe travels to those on the roads.

Be safe
Have a great day

As in your new diesel generator? Oh dear, sorry

had a nice Sunday morning at my church/Quaker Meeting, where I have been going since I was 5.
then lunch with my 90 year old MIL who I always visit and always call. My late wife was her caregiver and her brother is not taking up the slack for sure. She was in the hospital for three days last month and no one called me. I think I got my point across today to please call. At least I can call her in the hospital and be cheery. Everyone needs that. But she looked pretty good and made me a nice lunch; nice quality time together. Isn't going to be that much more of it, and we both know it. She was an RN like her daughter and she understands the score. Actually making 90 today and remaining fully independent living in one's home is pretty good. Though after the last hospital stay, the handwriting on the wall started to flash...

Starting to drizzle here, expect some rain coming in. Headed over the Route 95 bridge to NJ/Princeton to have dinner with my BIL while my sister is in California. While I will dodge the Priii all driving in the wrong lane. They must not have keep right except to pass in China...lot of Asian folk attending and living around Princeton. The IQ around there does not extend to driving skills.

Saw a lot of family and friends today, all good.

Still raining here, watching a movie, "Killers", a Ashton Kutcher movie. A comedy I guess. My wife likes it, so I guess it's ok?

Eric, just ate my first crumpet with breakfast today. Yummy.

Crumpets for breakfast, with plenty of butter oozing through and threatening to dribble down your chin - sheer decadence.

In the county where I come from (Yorkshire), we always called them pikelets. Double decadence is a pikelet with a poached egg on top. :licking:

Good morning. Another gorgeous dry day ahead.

The power company sent us a letter saying electricity is going off for most of today. I don't mind at all, there is plenty to do without electricity, however, my wife said it's a good time for us to go shopping together ...:(

49 going to 63...been raining and will rain more later.

Nice time dogsitting yesterday with my son's boxer puppy...was very interested in my tractor as I drove down to do some more work on the approaches to my little creek bridge...and ran up and down the creek, splashing over and over even more than my Chesapeake.

Roasted some coffee for my son to take home, and then watched a little bracketology...UNC and UVA number 1 seeds - pretty good. Sorry about the Noles, Larro.

Eric, I never heard of a power company planning a day without electricity. I think here stockholders or cooperative owner/members would go nuts, as well as customers.

Good Morning. 0555, fog, 61F with 99% humidity. Forecast high of 83F with 30% chance opf rain today, and a low of 63F tonight.

I just walked back from the camp in time to catch Margie before she went to work. I hit a log and busted a tire on the truck last night. It slid off the jack a couple of times, so I just waited to come in and get the floor jack. It's a 10 minute walk from drive to drive, so I'm not that far out in the wilds.

I have peas up in the garden. I plowed them yesterday, just because I could.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

. . . . . . and then watched a little bracketology...UNC and UVA number 1 seeds - pretty good. Sorry about the Noles, Larro.

We ended up as the 4 seed in the NIT {playing 5 seed Davidson on Tuesday night in Tally}. Not what we wanted, but there is still a chance of a trip to the Big Apple for the guys.

44 degrees in heavy rain in Newtown PA. Lovely morning to go look at travel trailers...not.
Drinking some good hotel coffee and waiting until 9am to venture out. I have all day, no sense getting into rush hour traffic in a rainstorm.

This area is hugely congested, overbuilt, too many Audis and every other possible foreign car. It's just such a weird change from an environment where almost everyone drives an American truck. And so many BMW's, they are like Chevy Malibus around here. And few of their drivers use their turn signals and are usually drinking a latte while never stopping on a right turn at stop sign. They don't have to. They are privileged I guess...:D

Now remember I grew up here, and I have witnessed the total repurposing of this area from farmland like I grew up on to nothing but McMansions littering prior corn fields. They are everywhere. Lot of the folks near here died in 9-11; the investment company folk on the top floor lived a few miles from where I am right now.

Finally the local governments got smart, realized it was much cheaper to buy the preservation rights of the farms versus paying huge amounts of money to build state of the art school systems to support all the new kids. High school teachers in this area often make six figures.
All this wealth is a great part of the American Dream but frankly it makes me a bit ill.
Big house, fancy car, private schools only for the kids. Even though the public schools are outstanding.

Despite my love of mechanical things and anything with a motor and wheels, and for sure tools..., I've never been materialistic in the way I am observing so many people here in Bucks County. I bet more cars are bought here for how they make the owner look than how they drive.
I saw this to the true extreme when living aboard my boat in Aventura Florida, about halfway between Miami and Ft Lauderdale. One Palm Beach resident did a "watch this" to me while pressing a small remote control and all three garage doors went up to show the grills of three Rolls Royces all lined up perfectly so the sun would glint spectacularly off their chromework. Good Lord. Where are our values?

Reminds me why my father always wanted to get home and get into the garden, into the dirt.
Back to the real stuff. Back to the land.

Almost all the very wealthy folks I met in South Florida were unhappy. Their wealth wasn't enough.
They hadn't figured it out yet.
And I'm sure not one of them had ever driven a tractor.
For sure they haven't figured it out yet...;)

sorry this is so long

57 this morning and headed to 69 today before the storms come in. Already had one round another due in early afternoon.

Not much on list for today and after yesterday I need an easy day. I'm still feeling it. Have a preschool meeting with the staff of where our son will be enrolled this fall.

I'm back from changing the tire. Easy with the floor jack. It's a light duty jack, so I should just keep it in the truck.

I'm the most relaxed when I have a hoe in my hand, looking at my peas grow. Did I mention I have peas up?

Good morning! 52˚ heading to 88˚. Nice day and I'll enjoy it knowing the brutal Summer is right around the corner and Ron will be heading North before his RV melts.

Went to a VFD Air pack class that did not happen yesterday because the instructor did not show. Still thinking about the way I want to lay the pavers. A little more tamping on the base is needed before setting.

Tomorrow is National Heart Attack Day. Everyone is encouraged to eat plant based for the day.

Coffee has been poured. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 78° with some sun. Good visit with son before he headed to Vegas. Not much planned today.
At least I do not have to deal with DST for another month. Snowbirds have started their trek north to cold country. Mostly Canadians who are only allowed 181 days of visits to the USA.
Txdon, nuts, lemons, grapefruits and oranges will be on the menu tomorrow. They are available around here for free from home owners that thought it would be a good idea to have the trees in their yards.
Good Morning All.

Just kidding my friend, just kidding. Having met you I know there is no hypocrite there at all, and I understand what you say. :drink:

Mid 50's to mid 60's today, we missed most of the rain, cloudy though for day number 3.

   / Good morning!!!! #43,598
47 heading to 60 on the North Bluff. Cloudy. The rain has ended. I hope the roads dry up some before I see the doctor this afternoon at 3:40pm for this arm pain. I think it is rotor cuff issue. Don't think I helped it much because I washed and waxed the truck yesterday because there was not much else I could do with the rain. Paying now. Sump-pump is doing it's thing about ever 40 minutes. Lots of moisture in the ground from all the rain we had before the frost hit.

   / Good morning!!!! #43,599
Supposedly 58F with light fog here @ 10:30 ... but it looks pretty sunny to me. High predicted to be 68F, with an occasional shower.

No real plans for today but no shortage of things to do either. Woman is presently vacuuming.

Still no replies from either alarm company.

Good morning all. 52F and clear this morning, breezy later today. Forecast for 82F and 15 mph winds. Heavy dew this mornings slowing the start of mowing. Also on TMA is bike ride. 7+ yo battery was culprit on non-starting issue. Oreilly's was busy yesterday! Criuse control has not shown any signs of life yes, it probably needs more encouragement :(
