Good morning!!!!

Good morning. The wind has turned to come in from the east and has cooled the enthusiasm of the lambs to play. It has stayed dry though, so they are all doing fine. Lambs 70, 90 & 96 are still a little tender and being kept close to the house, all the rest are out in the bigger fields.

Something happened to the dog yesterday, although I'm not sure what. He was doing his usual zig zag across the field, following his nose as we walked over to check out the lambs in the far field, when suddenly he gave out a yelp. He took a few steps towards me, then sat down and held up his left front paw. I couldn't feel anything stuck in his pads and at the time we were in open pasture, well away from the prickly hedge plants. Something had definitely got him though, as he wouldn't move. One good thing about terriers in general and this one in particular is that they don't weigh much, which was just as well as I ended up carrying him back home.

My wife thinks he may have been stung, however I can't find any swelling. There is not much around to sting at the moment, except perhaps the odd bumble bee. I owe him as we got to stay home instead of me having to go shopping. He was feeling off all day, not wanting to eat, except for a few pieces of broccoli and peas - the meat was untouched. Even a piece of chicken was refused. Never thought a dog would want to join in with Don on a totally plant based diet.

This morning dog is still not at all right. The black cat walked by outside without raising a single bark. All he wants to do is lie in his basket and sleep. I will trust his instints for now and hope more rest does the trick, if not it looks like being a trip to the vet.

Hope your dog gets along ok dogs become part of the family and when they feel bad so do you

Good Morning. 0605, overcast, 65F with 94% humidity. Forecast high of 83F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 63F tonight. Today, tomorrow and Thursday are good above ground planting days. I'm running out of room in the garden fast, but I'll put a few more seeds in soil today. {only 2 Pruden's Purple sprouts up, so more of those seed for sure} Also transplant peppers and tomatoes. I have a kiddie pool ready to put peppers in.

Today is Election Day in Florida. The Civic Center is a polling place, so I'll go in to work around dinnertime. This one and two more will be it for Margie.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

52 this morning and headed to 81 today. Ground should firm up quickly today.

Plans for today are to replace a winch in chicken coops. The old one is broke and I'll need it Thursday. Just hoping that it won't be too difficult. Then to town for some protein tubs for the cows.

Eric. Hope dog is feeling better. What kind of terroir do you have. I have a Jack Russell.

Ed welcome.

Wingsprd you have the same forecast as I do for Sunday. Snow showers.

Good morning! Happy Heart Attack Day! Remember the common sign is a right fist over the heart (not a open hand - that is the pledege of allegiance). Eric looks like dog is celebrating early and long. If whipper did that yesterday it most likely would have been a snake bite. Yesterday was the first snake sighting of the year as the temperature rose to 92˚ - They are out and hungry.

66˚ foggy, heading to 90˚.

Good morning,
51 heading to 67, cloudy. Got to go vote then pick up my meds. The issue is rotor cuff tear. :smiley_aafz:
Maybe pull the deck off the rider to clean and service or maybe not.
Eric, Hope the dog gets better soon. We have not had the heart to replace the one we lost four years ago.
Ed, :welcome:

Good morning! Clear and cool in Ohio. We had thunderstorms and heavy rain yesterday afternoon which I got to drive through in the truck as I ran my errands. Today is more overcast. Ohio as I always remember it.

I'm staying at my mothers house which I'm preparing to put on the market to sell. Had spoken to a realtor recommended by a family friend but found him not much to my liking as his preference was to upgrade everything in the home prior to the sale. He was also from out of the area and didn't have very many resources for contractors and such for the work needed on the home. To top it all off when I informed him this morning that I chosen to go with another realtor he insinuated that he and I had already come to an agreement that he would be the realtor to sell the house. Very unprofessional and I'm very disappointed in his actions but better to learn now than halfway through the transaction and have the same favors manifest.

The realtor I did choose is local, has 27 years of experience and a wealth of contacts that I'm sure will be very helpful in bringing this place to the point where it's ready to go on the market. Like most realtors these days she relies heavily on the Internet for advertizing but has developed some nice tools, for example a 3-D walk-through of the home. She also provided to very enthusiastic references from people that have both bought and sold homes through her.

A real challenge will be finding a way to empty the home as it's chock-full of years of accumulated appliances, hunting gear, vehicles, and almost anything you could name. I'm hoping to hear back from an auctioneer later in the day as I think that's probably the best way to go from here but I'm open to ideas if you have any.

Still limping along with only an iPhone for Internet access but the arrangements I made for a new provider yesterday hopefully will make improve that situation. Supposedly the new source will allow me to tether my laptop to the iPhone and once again have access to a keyboard and large monitor as I compose posts and try to carry out business. I'm trying voice recognition for this post but I end up spending as much time dictating as I do correcting the errors.

Drew, great camper...I forget which model Ram you have, but guess it can tow this with room to spare.
Thanks Billy, well actually I eeked by the hair of my chinny chin chin. My hemi Ram has the economy rear along with the tow package and the
full airbag suspension. Now i will never (they always say) fill it up to max gvw. But if I did, I'm within 50 pounds of max towing for the truck.
As is likely going to be towed, since I don't dry camp and need to haul 80 gallons of water, probably a thousand pounds under the tow rating of the truck. It's going to work pretty hard but will make nice
noises doing it. Reminds me to get the oil changed in the truck before I go get the trailer and bring it back down here. Which is all going to occur next Monday.
If I put 3.70 gears in the rear I'd pick up more capacity but for now I'm going to worry more about stopping than accelerating.

9 hour drive has me frazzled, hard to think about driving back up there. But I surely will. Will go up early Sunday morning and that's about a slow a time as possible unless they are repaving on the weekends.

Good morning. We ended the day yesterday by taking the dog to the local veterinary practice, which is less than a couple of miles away. No visible signs of injury, although he does have a high temperature. Not sure exactly what magic chemical was in the syringe that was skilfully injected without a growl or a whimper, but within an hour he was up playing with a piece of cardboard. This morning he is a little slow to move around though much improved.

There are several vets at the practice. We hadn't seen this one before and I remarked to my wife that he was the best male vet - both with dogs and humans. She told me that he is quite famous, having made lots of TV programs. I looked on wiki - Steve Leonard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia He looks to have travelled the world making animal films but not a single alligator as far as I can see, so maybe he should team up with Christy sometime.

Eric glad the dogs better. Did they the vet say what was wrong?

56 this morning high of 72 later but breezy. Temperatures on downward spiral now until weekend when highs only get into the 30s

About 6pm last evening one could hear LARGE flock geese flying north, because of low cloud cover was unable to see. :(

Some back dirt roads are in such rutty muddy shape towns/cities have close them.

Enjoy the day all.

Eric. Hope dog is feeling better. What kind of terroir do you have. I have a Jack Russell.

Jack Russels are perfect for anyone with farm buildings, as long as they have learned to leave the chickens alone. I guess yours must have with so many around.

When we were given this one as a pup, we expected him to have been pure Jack Russel, but he turned out to be a mixed parentage terrier. He has a Jack Russel body and quite sturdy front paws from his mothers side, together with a rounded head and ears that leave no doubt that is father was a Chihuahua. Although fully grown, he only came down at 4.5 kg (10lbs) on the vet's weighing scales.

His name is Max, as suggested by my mother in law and although she didn't live to see him grow up, it now suits him well as he copes well with much bigger animals despite his diminutive size. Anyone only hearing his bark would think he was a much larger dog.

Vet was very honest, said he just didn't know, but didn't believe in coincidences so something happened in the field that resulted in the high temperature. Max is now on a course of steroids and enjoying all the treats he is being bribed with to eat them.
