Need to get coffee brewing. 63° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 83° with some clouds. Wife says we are going to a friends patio party this afternoon. Should be a good day for it.
Good Morning All.

36 this morning and headed to 55 today. We never made it above 42 yesterday and today's high has already been revised down. Light rain showers moving through.

Went yesterday to a local farm store and got some new pasture seed. 450 pounds. Then back home to unload it. Tractor cranked forever ~15 seconds but finally started. Once it starts it runs fine and will restart like normal. I have some investigating to do. Couldn't look at it then because I had to get ready for a 20 year anniversary dinner. Perdue has had this complex open 20 years. Meal was cooked by the local 4-H. Very good.

Plans for today include some investigating on the tractor. Hopefully they just didn't get the air out when the fuel filter was changed. Then have some hay to put out.

Drew. They said last night they took the antibiotics out of the chickens in '06. Also removed all animal products from the the feeds.

Those ribs sounds good. But my wife is the rib eater of the family. I'll just take a pork chop or steak.

Good morning! 57˚ heading to 75˚ cloudy. Buppie's rain is heading here starting Monday evening. I'm calling it Buppie's because no one else predicted it until yesterday and Buppie was days ahead of them.

No critter tracks in the cement. With the cool cloudy weather it should firm up nice and slow without a crack, and even if a crack does appear it's so full of steel (230' of rebar) it's not going to move.

Next, level, tamp and set the pavers, herringbone pattern, leaving 1/4" space for the polymer sand again. (After the rains.)

We have very very small fast disappearing black ants in one cabinet. When my wife calls me to look at them by the time I get there they have disappeared. I'll wipe it down with orange oil and silicon all corners. Also, my Dad's yard gate needs to be fixed after little brother hit it with the tractor. He tries to help out but sometimes he just creates more work.

Retired and Maintenance Free - NOT.

Good Morning! 55F @ 5:15AM. Rain likely. Becoming windy in the afternoon. High 61F. Winds SSE at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall possibly over one inch. Winds could occasionally gust over 50 mph.

Rain has been spattering against the bedroom sliding door most of the night, but only 0.15" has found its way into the gauge. The winds have also picked up since midnight, 20 MPH now with gusts up to 30. We're about 2/3 of the way through this front, but apparently there's another off the coast because our 24 hour total is supposed to be 2.25". And then we're supposed to get another inch Sunday night. It's about time.

Looks like I'll be spending some time with the mapping software laying out a more southerly route in hopes of finding easier sailing across the mountains to the east. By Sunday snow levels will be well below the passes, and there's no sense fighting it all the way through Denver.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Farmer's stalling tractor reminded me of what happened when I got the truck smog tested last Thursday. Yeah, in Kalifornia we get our Diesel trucks smog tested. But all that really amounts to is plugging the state mandated electronics into the vehicle's OBD port and letting it idle for a minute or two. Or at least that's all it should take, but this time about half way through the truck would stall and they'd have to start the test over. Then the owner comes over and says use this other machine, and run the smog part first. That worked, but it was the first time I've ever heard that something hooked up to that connector could kill the engine.

Later that morning I stopped in for a haircut and was greeted with a row of guys already waiting. And then one of the two barbers went to lunch. So we had some time to chat, and naturally the conversation swung around to politics. Not a man had anything good to say about the current slate of candidates from either party, and all expressed a high level of distrust in our state and federal governments. That's a pretty sad state of affairs in the land of the free.

cold morning here, I'd report the temps but Wunderground seems to be having difficulties this morning.
Two local teenagers coming over to do yard work this morning, which is great. I'll get some tractor time hauling topsoil and mulch while
they do hopefully most of the hard work. And while they are picking up sticks I have blackberry bushes and rose bushes to plant this morning. Easy to do in existing gardens, just filling in spots.

then I hope to go over to the local meat market and get some ribs for dinner, and put them on my new grill.
Will probably do a dry rub, trying to avoid a lot of sugary stuff on them. I have several bottles of traditional barbecue sauce
but now that I know how much sugar is in them, well....I guess the trick is to use it sparingly. Mention ribs and I bet there are a thousand
good recipes for cooking them, guys sure get serious about barbecuing.
I'm going to try to slow cook mine for several hours, nice big temp gauge on the grill, see if I can keep them at 350.

Enjoy your weekend.
Drew with all the micro climates around I am really surprised you don't have your own weather station. I could see you having extra sensors in the shop, barn, maybe even soil to monitor your place. :)

Went out to the barn to get ready to spray the lawn for weeds, picked up a piece of scrap 2x4 and got nailed by a scorpion on the finger. Came back in the house and took a benydryl pill. Proceeded to spray the lawn for spring weeds. Got the sprayer cleaned out. Now drying. I guess I should have sprayed for bugs instead, but they say that rain is coming and I don't want to waste the spray.
