Good morning!!!!

Good Morning! 54F @ 5:15AM. Isolated thunderstorms during the morning becoming more widespread this afternoon. High around 65F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%.

Drew, you aren't the first to leave a gas BBQ on longer than intended. Some of us seem to need to relearn that lesson on a regular basis.:ashamed:

Still no 1/0 cable at the welding distributor yesterday, in spite of an international copper glut and promises by the man behind the counter. Now he's got a month to work on it, as it'll be about that long before I can get back there again. Good thing it wasn't that important.

Picked up the last audio cable I needed to finish the radio install, so now that's done, and got an oil change finished on the truck when I got home. We'd had light rain most of the day but it broke just in time to keep me mostly dry under the truck. And the cloud shards looked pretty drifting across the canyon in the peach colored sunset light as I lay under the truck watching it. Today looks to be more of the same so I'll get the truck packed and ready to go. I should leave today as there's a big weather system do in tonight that will leave a trail of rain and snow across the country. So my choices are to try to get out ahead of it and probably be overtaken, or wait until Monday and hope the road crews can get dug out before I get there. Or take a more southerly route hoping that the Grapevine on I5 will let me cross, then jump on I40. Decisions, decisions...

TGIF!

10 minutes later - With more light and less reflection I can now see it is the reflection of the side of a house, probably with gloss paint.

39 this morning and headed to 50 today. Clouding the morning and sun this afternoon.

Well I have the tractor back home. It's a nice run and a good workout for the truck up to the dealer. About 50 miles. Just over an hour loaded and all 2 lane state highway.

Got almost to the dealer yesterday in a drizzly rain, and Pike Electric (contractors) were attempting to replace a power pole to a transmission line in the middle of a corn field. Had 3 large tandem trucks at the pole bumper deep, a semi load of Drew's wooden mats on the road, a CTL and 2 dozers. With a BX Kubota backhoe keeping the mud scrapped off the road. You know those guys were having a ball yesterday.

Plans for today have yet to be decided. But will involve walking birds and checking cows.

Good morning,
20 degrees F and heading to 40 bright sunshine and little to no wind, so the snow should go. Picking up the grand-son in a bit for the day and night. Always fun. Lets you know why you have kids when your young.
Drew, I have done the same with our grill. Turned it up to clean it then forgot it was on till the next morning. And it is connected to the main LP tank to. :banghead:

I'm stalling, can you tell . . . . There are 42 - 80# bags of cement on the trailer in front of my forms waiting to be mixed and poured. On the bright side it is a beautiful morning! I need to get in day labor mode. . .

Good Morning. 0845, overcast, 52F with 86% humidity. Forecast high of 67F with no chance of rain today{they also said that yesterday and it stormed last night}, and a low of 42F tonight. We got almost an inch from the unplanned storm last night. Half before midnight and half after. I transplanted Acorn squash, pepper plants and Cilantro into a kiddie pool yesterday. They should be well watered.

No real plans for the day. I don't have to work tonight, but I never got into town to do the banking yesterday, so I might do that today. We use a couple different banks, so if I want to deposit our checks in the Credit Union it will have to be today or Monday, but our other bank is open Saturday morning. I have to get by there soon anyway for an inactive account. If not they will charge me for keeping my money.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

33.6F and "haze" ... dunno why it's "haze" and not just "overcast" ... got a couple inches of snow overnight.

More work in the back room of the basement yesterday, cleaning up and sorting things out.

Installed another one of those GE 60w eq stick LED's on the back porch off the kitchen, and another in the fixture on the deck. That makes five total, plus three 100w eq CFL's out front. None are on photocells (dusk to dawn) ... so if they accidentally get left on during the day at least the power used will be fairly minimal.

Been thinking a little about the alarm upgrades I wanna do ... most of it, if not all, is going to pulling cable. That will be the biggest expense because of the amount of labor that will be involved in a home that finished. I might have to see if these guys are willing to have me pull the cable and stub it out ... and then just have them install the devices, reprogram the system, and then provide the monitoring service. Half a fish might be better than no fish at all.

Drew,

Sorry to hear about your experience with the grill ... glad you are safe. Like Billy said, your place is looking very nice ... might have to have you up to give me lessons on how to make it happen :D

Eric,

Thanks for the heads up on the smoke detectors ... will give it a shot. Good luck on sussing out the hot water issue.

Buckeye,

Hope you are able to get your water heater issues sorted out in short order.

Don,

Pace yourself and don't overdo it.

RNG,

Hope you have good weather and a safe and enjoyable trip over to the Buckeye ... if you are in my area, feel free to drop by and say "Hey" ...

Roy,

Good luck on getting things straightened out with SS ... hopefully it will be a quick and easy deal.

4" of heavy wet snow, supposed to be clearing later. This may be the last one this season. Initially we were supposed to get a dusting changing to rain. Snowed all night, stopped about 11, streets are clear.

Big ad in Outlook keeps popping up for Subway rotisserie chicken, making a big fuss about chicken
raised without antibiotics. Farmer, without antibiotics, how much does yield drop? (assuming chickens without antibiotics have greater mortality)

Two hundred years from now, the future generations will look down at Don's masonry and simply nod "Don was here". And there...

It's been a lazy day. Cold and nasty out, been paying bills, changing hvac filters, all the stuff put off.

I was wondering how you were going to mix all those bags using a wheelbarrow, shovel, and your guns? But then I saw your little helper in the background. ;)
Have you bought stock in the paver company?

Our snow melted before noon, but never got real warm. 35° now.

I removed a sideshot forced exhaust that was on my old boiler, pre geothermal. Took way too long to remove. Still need to remove the boiler, that will take longer. I want to put a 2nd hot water tank in that space, preheat from my geo system.

Wow, I overestimated the number of bags of cement needed by 50% (the good way!) I already took 21 bags back and got my refund.

Stats: 42 ft curbing, 21 bags 80# cement, 1,680 pounds, 63 minutes.
Yes, a new record - average 3 minutes per bag!

Drew. Don't know. I've never raised chickens with antibiotics. Our losses usually stay between 2-4%. We have the option to use antibiotics but it takes a veterinarian prescription and a lot of paperwork. Plus the plant has to run that farm separate from the rest. Antibiotics with us are a big deal and not taken lightly. We use other methods to treat most problems that pop up. Vinegar to change the digestive PH for intestinal problems, iodine works like Mucinex for us and more.

Don. You sure did better than I expected. The mixer I grew up with couldn't mix a bag in 3 minutes. Much less mix and pour.

Don, What kind of mixer? Don't think my plastic one would hold up going that fast. Course i did do my barn footings with it.
