Good morning all. 40F this morning forecast for only 64F 15+ mph winds from SE. Thought it would get warmer with SE winds forecast for the day. Dog sitting, maintenance on 10-speed, golf meeting for TMA.

Good afternoon, Partly cloudy 71˚. Looks like the rest of Feb. will be 40s-50s in the morning and 70-80s in the afternoon. This is turning into a mild winter.
I have not had to turn off the water to protect my exposed water pipes this winter, and my last fire was before Christmas. We actually had to turn the AC on for a bit yesterday evening. We have had freezing temps for just a few hours on some mornings.

Since Global warming is affecting us we expect some of your carbon credits or at least ship us some snow.:D

...at least ship us some snow.:D

I do understand Boston, NYC, Philadelphia and Washington DC are looking for places to dump their snow from that Nor'easter a few weeks back..give OH-Bamy a call...

Those DC boys are good at piling stuff up, just ain't snow. Don, I'll ship you some snowballs if you want. We got the AC running outside also, It dropped all day, with a stiff wind blowing, 12 out there now, wind chill -3.

Good afternoon, Still cold and our friends know it.
I took these yesterday afternoon. Wife calls them the Magnificent Seven. They were right on time at 4:05PM They are about 30’ from the front door. They and another group of three come every day. They know it is going to get down to about 0 tonight so they will be here soon.

Good Afternoon. 1640, sunny, 56F with 24% humidity. Our high was 58F today and a forecast low of 35F tonight. I didn't have to work today, and we had planned on a trip to Sam's Club in Panama City. But Margie got up with the crud and we went to the Minute Clinic in Marianna instead. She has the beginnings of the viral infection that is making the rounds. As long as he doesn't have a temp she isn't contagious. I'm not taking any chances though. I'm heading out to the camp in a few minutes:D I may listen to the race on the radio, but I'm making a break from having to watch every single race, like I have for the last 20 years. When Jeff retired, I decided to retire from watching. It will be nice to not have to plan around the race every weekend.

Speaking of the camp, I did good at the thrift stores while she was waiting to see the doctor. I got a Lodge Dutch oven for $8.00 and a frying pan with metal handle {for cooking over the fire} for $2.00. My campfire cooking collection continues to grow, even though most nights all I cook is coffee.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Now down to 10, but the wind has picked up. Normally my upstairs geo unit does ok down to 10 outside, but it wants the Aux heat coil now, not keeping up. I just turned on the breaker to let it run awhile.

Larro, good snag on that dutch oven. We use them a lot with the boy scouts. I have one I take camping, you can cook about anything in them.

23 currently wind chill of 18. Winter weather advisory out.

Larro. I know what you mean. I stopped watching nascar every weekend back in '01. When Dale was killed I tried following JR. but just lost interest. Racing wasn't the same. Now I'll listen on the radio if I'm in the car, or I'll watch it if I'm at dads. Might look up points once or twice a year.

Up a bit too early this morning...

Anyway, it's minus 14 right now and Sunday's high here will be 5 degrees. I don't expect to leave the house today...no reason to.

I did hit the Army-Navy store in Barre VT yesterday. Picked up a wool blanket (military surplus) and a couple of those aluminized emergency blankets for the vehicles. I also got a couple pair of woolen gloves. One pair is the mitten style with the trigger finger separate along with a liner. These should be pretty nice for show shoveling. The gloves were also mil-surp.

6 heading to 28 and snow tonight...snow and ice tomorrow.

Looks like many of us are up early this morning.

I've not run my tractor below about 8 degrees, but I have some firewood to bring in this morning, so may set a new record.

Temperature here only a couple of degrees below freezing. Even so my fingers soon go numb in the wind when I have to do things without gloves. Last year I had a Hot-Rox handwarmer, which was great for getting the circulation going again.

This winter it disappeared into hibernation, all I could find was the charging lead.

Mittens could be the answer. So could a pair of kittens, one in each pocket ...

My Hot-Rox must have got a bit worried about been replaced by fluffy felines as it has just decided to surface and after leaving it plugged into the laptop USB port for a while is all eager to go again.

a very very cold morning for lots of folks, including here at 14 degrees, coldest of the winter. High of 34 and yeah, probably a day for many of us to stay inside.
At least the weather system coming in early next week is rain for us, others ?? Lot of rain predicted, which of course means a lot of possible snow North of here.
Buppies and Wingsprd get all the snow, thanks guys!

Actually....with the frozen ground, this afternoon might be a good day to move some topsoil and fill in some ruts. In two days it will be mud here again so I'll take the frozen ground when i can get it. All three of my heating systems are roaring away...maybe I'll make a fire this afternoon and burn up some of the large pile of wood I have.
Unfortunately when I run my fireplace one thermostat is in that room, like in lots of our houses, so the kitchen gets a bit cold. Good day to turn the oven
on and bake something. Though i did make brownies yesterday that came out well; now I have to give them away before I eat them..
I intend to be lazy today. Though i might spend some time on the treadmill and earn a brownie or two...
There is a control on my treadmill that switches from calories burned to brownies earned.;)

With day light now sky is very red seems I've read about that somewhere "red sky in morning sailor take warning" so guess I'd better heed that advise fuel for tractor finish what tree trimming I can then rest up for night of snow pushing

-21 @ 7:30. BRRRRR! Luckily its wind still. Beautiful blue sky and the sun glistening on the snow covered trees and bushes really make the cardinals and jays stand out.
