You are up early Drew. I have been up since 4 on a workday, guess I should be careful what I wish for.

74 here till the sun comes up, then gonna be hot. I hope to get the results on my soil samples today so I can work on the fields this weekend.

Analyst: OPEC is 'failing miserably' at controlling global oil flow

Oil futures dipped below $45 a barrel on Wednesday, settling at the lowest level in nearly two weeks after the Energy Information Administration lowered its crude-oil price forecasts for this year and next.

not good for oil producers or the huge industry that supports them, drilling and exploration either slows or stops. We appear now to have oil "out the ears". What a change. Most of us can remember when availability of oil was a huge issue, and the foundation for our support of the Middle East, starting with Aramco.
Maybe all those hybrid cars really are making a difference. I bet within ten years we'll see RNG in an automated car happily pecking away at a TBN post while his other guided transport pod whisks him down the highway, like little road trains of identical plastic pods. And the only motor noises he hears will be piped in. Let's see, shall we listen to an old Harley today or perhaps a 60's Corvette small block? A Mustang 5.0 you say? Ok, for Eric we'll allow an Austin Healey setting... Would be cool to just turn the dial for different sounds. Might make driving a high performance golf cart/err transport module more appealing.

So....I guess i will get my diesel tank and fill it up.
Gas is 1.99 and diesel is 2.35 here at the retail pump this moment. I was quoted 1.92 awhile back for 200 gallons of diesel, might drop another dime by the time I'm ready. Marvelous.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 48° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 76° with sun and low humidity. Pond pump died while away for the holiday. Need to replace today. Then give motorhome a bath.
Good Morning All.

64F now high 74F,18 degrees cooler than last 4 days looks like normal temps are going to hang around for a while... 3 good days slow soaking rain would help a lot. :)

Acorns starting to drop and apples trees are loaded this year enough so knocking some apples from young trees so limbs won't break....deer like my idea so far.

Enjoy the day all.

70 going to 82. Good rain last night...haven't been out to rain gauge yet.

Have a couple of plots to till and plant in oats/clover/brassicas for winter cover...if not too wet, will get that done before the next batch of rain is supposed to get here between 11 and 3pm.

Thomas, glad your apples are bearing well...my apples didn't do well this year - apple cedar rust got them...too many cedars around here.

68 this morning and headed to 86 today. A quarter of inch of rain yesterday and last night. Good dust settler.

Still have errands to run. Spent to much time fighting computer yesterday trying to load a printer. My desktop died and that was my printing computer. So laptop now has printer driver on it. Home networks don't work with dead computers either. That's how I use to print.

Might have time to try and bust open my winter pasture ground today. Need to go get seed.

Did get my roof metal ordered yesterday and it will be here Friday. Now just need some double bubble to put under it.

Drew. Wasn't we supposed to have those cars by the year 2000. We're 15 years late. Oh and flying too. Just zip and zoom.

Farmer, I never did believe the Jetzons...;)

going to install my little folding worktable later today. Wanted to let the glue harden fully all night even though it was screwed also, Currently blue formica on it, was using up one of those "I wonder what I can use this for" specials... might leave it or cover in metal. Because all the weight seems to be on the top fastening screw, I attached the 300 pound rated hinge onto a 2x4 first, so I could get a big lag screw securely into the top hole. Now I'll bolt the whole thing through the wood wall, bought some non graded hardware from TSC yesterday afternoon, just love buying it by the pound, 7/16 seemed plenty heavy for this. Remembered the big washers, and should be easy to install. Then a chain saw will go up on it to get it broken in...

Good morning! 74˚ heading to 90s. Not the cool promised even though the wind did change and is coming slightly from the North. We were the target of a stray shower and got .56", so the dust will be settled for a day, yea.

Good morning all. 72F this morning, sunny (fog just before sunrise) and calm wind. Forecast for 93F today (last day in 90's until next Thursday) 72F dewpoint, so HI about 97F. Tuesday was running errands so not as hard work as Monday, and ran the last of the errands and came home yesterday. Traffic was bad on most of I44, trucks kept trying to pass going uphill, and they would slow down to 55 or so, and block the passing lane. Today is unpack the van, bike ride, and leaf pick up.
Sounds like most everyone had a good weekend :)

Good Afternoon!

Yes Drew we got very wet yesterday, and it was downright muggy this morning walking the dog. I seem to have caught a minor cold, just enough to be an annoyance and sap my motivation...

Be well everyone!
David

it's hard to get motivated when it's muggy outside...87 here, feels like 97, cool for Texas...but going to be drinking a lot of water this afternoon. Rain missed us so my helper is going to keep me busy. Hope your cold goes away David. It's always a question "who gave this to me"....

... Hope your cold goes away David. It's always a question "who gave this to me"....

I was bartender at a wedding last Sunday (my fiancee is a chef, she occasionally chefs for a catering company friend).

MASS quantities of public exposure... I suspect I understand the "Where"...

LOL

98F @ 10:45AM. Plenty of sunshine. High 104F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Got an early start this morning out in the garage before it got too hot, so I'm done out there for the day. Sheesh, it's not even noon, and it's already sweltering.

Eric, Kalifornia is phasing out lead for all forms of hunting, and the tree huggers are using lead as an excuse to try to shut down the few surviving rifle ranges as well. There's no evidence that spent bullets are harmful to either big game or upland game, but the appointed officials ban it anyway.

Drew, they'll have my F250 when they pry it from my cold, dead hands. Not that I care much for the sound, but I'm not going to buy into the computerized, recall-a-day, dealership only maintenance involved with modern vehicle ownership. Besides, we can't even get decent cell phone reception here, let along be subjected to automated road guidance.

Enjoy the rest of the day, folks!

78°F and no rain last 24 hours.

Got a good day mowing yesterday. Have to do some admin kind stuff this morning, then check on my drywall. Most likely, ready to sand and second coat of mud.

Be safe
Have a great day

Back, after two days in Connecticut (work related). Both were long days and my night was in a "No-tell Motel" kind of place.
Nice to be back home!

Drew, Saudi Arabia can pump oil for almost no overhead cost. They are flooding the market trying to push the American shale oil producers out of the market, then they would cut back on production. Several of their member states are hurting because of the low prices, but the Saudis can do whatever they want. The oil patch has always been home to boom and bust business cycles. That is not likely to change.

I think also, the Saudis are using the oil as a weapon upon Iran and Syria's Assad. It also hurts the Russians, who support Assad. These folks are willing to do anything ( not almost ) in the name of god.

Just finished watching Ken Burn's civil war. I've seen it before, but it is interesting. Amazing how our forefathers sacrificed for their cause, North and South. One thing is brought up several times - it was better to get killed outright than linger for months in pain, dying from infection.

How is the toe doing with long work days and motel living?

The toe has healed up nicely! The problem was, most likely, due to reduced blood flow in the right leg. The right leg's blood flow is something like 60% less then the the left leg. The doc wants me to get a cat-scan to see why...but I want to see how much I'll owe for the first round of doctor visits first.

Now, today's news!

62 and light rain (much needed) right now. The high today will be 77. Rain should clear out later this morning, but I'd be fine if it stuck around all day!
