I hear the sound of a billion ice crystals forming...32 degrees and going down, to 15 tonight.
Probably sounds balmy to some of you further North. Can't imagine a negative sign in front of that.
Am glad all my new windows are installed, sure saving some heat loss vs before.
And I sure hope RS's heater keeps working. Dangerous in this weather if your heat goes out.
Of course one could sit in their truck and keep warm, listening to your plastic pipes burst. Unless you have a whole lot of those
warmer wraps on them and a large enough gen to handle that.
And almost absurdly the siding guys are coming tomorrow morning on possibly the coldest day of the winter to redo/finish the aluminum flashing on my house. I was considering residing at the same time, would make a better looking window but the quote range was $15-25k and I said no thank you. Not this year for sure. Hey, we can do your roof too. That's nice.....just fix my windows and come back another year. At least these guys are good, will insulate everything properly and will leave the place clean I hope. I told them I wanted the place fully tarped, no little metal bits in the mulch and lawn like last time. Magnet roller won't pick them up; too bad they don't make one for aluminum. I must have bent over a thousand times picking up that junk. It sure isn't going to decompose...belongs in the trash. The prior guys were real pigs; these guys "get it".
I am just seriously tired of picking up after sloppy workers. Couple weeks and it will be all done. Coming together nicely, after all the angst, going to be worth it. And I survived.
