Good morning!!!!

Drew, I agree with you. Any red vehicle is a girls vehicle. My only red tractor - a Farmall A is my wife's, it used to be her grandmothers garden tractor.[/QUOTE]

Oh Don, I wish a few of our Texas ladies were here to reply to that. They'd throw you up on a pile of mesquite and bring marshmallows...
whatever happened to "if it ain't red, leave it in the shed?"

it's funny, I live in an area actually well represented by all four major tractor colors, green, two reds actually, orange and blue.
From the tractor ads I bet Texas is pretty green.

Drew, I forgot to comment on the car color. I have had a maroon Alero, and have a maroon Tacoma now. That is as close to red as I would like to get, but then I treat cars like the Indians did horses. When one dies, I look for the best one that I can afford and slip into the saddle. When I was looking for a lightly used Camry to replace the Alero, the one thing Margie and I both agreed on was we didn't want a black one. Guess what happened. I found a Mica Gray {black by another name} Camry for so low a price I couldn't not buy it.

As far as Caddies go, they are still a blue haired Grandma's car to me. I'm sure they are fine automobiles though. It just takes a long time to outgrow an impression like that.

Now Larro, at my age..., I might like to meet a nice blue hair like that driving a 650hp Caddy.
Always nice to know her motor is running...:D

Good point Drew. I hadn't thought of using one as bait.

On a sadder note, I just heard Joe Cocker has died. Here is a clip from when we were all young.

Thanks Larro, Ole Joe does this song justice!

My wife and I danced to You Are So Beautiful To Me, at our wedding and our son's wedding as well.
Another legend of our generation gone to the ages.

Yucky day here, cold rain, just above freezing. The trip home was terrible.
FWIW, I like red / Maroon cars, and even have one red tractor.

So why did the street light thread get closed? Didn't see anything outrageous in it.

   / Good morning!!!! #28,028
just beautiful music, as was Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, etc, and Joe outlasted them for sure. That lifestyle
is pretty hard on the body. But living on the edge is what gave them their creativity I suppose.
Cocker put so much emotion into the song, you just knew he meant it.
I kept wondering when he was going to bonk his head on that microphone...

We sure do get by with a little help from our friends. Like all of you in fact.
Most of my life I've had the "inner circle" joke of modifying that to be help from my Friends/friends. Big F meaning what we call each other in my particular faith. If you treat others as your friends, which I'm pretty sure is a primary directive of Jesus, then it's hard to imagine strife and conflict.
sure wish it was that easy. Never too late to start.
RIP Joe.

My tractor is the only red thing I'd buy.

It had gone downhill fast and any constructive advice was done a long time ago. The logging by the neighbor thread is next.

The late last night thread is next.

I guess I just don't get around. I haven't clicked on a new thread in ages. It seems to take all the spare time I have just to keep up with the ones I already comment on. And I'm always up late night, so I hate I missed out on that one.

I was thinking of Bindian when I wrote that, and of course she would agree, with her big red tractor and very big red truck. I know two guys in our county that drive red trucks. One won it at a VFD raffle and the other has vision problems because he never drives over 20mph (he probably thought he bought a gray truck).:D Oh that brings up another subject - red firetrucks - they are exempt.

Sister just reminded me of this Joe Cocker song. One of my favorites.

Larro

You didn't miss much toward the end. I'm not sure some of posters realize the sun doesn't shine 24/7, and that it's supposed to be dark when the sun is down. Idjits. Give them artificial light for one century and they get all confused.

Yep, give folks a little whale oil and the next thing you know they have I-phones and store everything they own on The Cloud.

Unless there was some pruning done that we didn't get to see, there was nothing to warrent closing the thread. You get all kinds of opinions on all sorts of threads, ever see the one about removing your hitch?
Some people got their pants in a wad over that one and it's still going. I have noticed that threads involving neighbors, be it trespass, their dogs, their fences, their trees, and now their lights are some of the most responded to threads. And look what happened when someone said good morning.

We now return you to your neighborhood weather reports........

Yep, it's true about the neighbor thing.

What I have been wondering is how often does Farmer2009 eat chicken? :licking: If he eats chicken, does he buy it at the store, or does he go to the trouble of cleaning one? It's really hard to beat rotisserie chicken done over a real charcoal (not the coal dust charcoal) or wood fire.

29F with ice pellets or sleet forecast tonight & tomorrow. No accumulation expected. I see some widely scattered precip. on the radar to our south.

If you only knew how many times I've been asked that question. Yes I eat chicken. A couple of times a week. Had one guy say as long as the people raising them would eat them he would.

I eat both. But I don't do whole chickens. I'll take and cut the breast out. But not very many though. 8-10 a year. The rest is bought at the store or a surplus sale.

Thanks. That's funny. I suppose people would, like me, wonder if you just don't want to look at chicken for supper after looking at chickens all day. When I did a lot of programming and database management for work stuck in front of screen all day, I never felt like spending much time on a PC at home.

30 right now and snow steadily...should end early, but it'll be a crappy drive in to work this morning. High today is to be about 37.

As far as the lighting thread, I'm guessing too many posts suggested shooting out the light...you just can't do that!

Morning all!

It's a rather mild one for the time of year this morning at 3*C/37*F and is still snow and frost free here in Scotland - for now.

I've been lazy this morning and made a cup of instant coffee so once I've drank that I'll have to head off to work.

It doesn't seem right looking at the date being the 23rd of December - it seems more like November.

Have a good day folks.
