40 this morning and headed for 50 today. Rain seems to be moving further out into the week. Which is ok but the warmer temps we are suppose to get are moving too. I know 50's not bad, but middle of the week it was suppose to be almost 60 here today.

Yesterday's auction was cloudy and quite cold just standing around. Sun never did come out until after it was over. You would be surprised at the people willing to pay new prices for things that are really beat up.

Everyone stay safe and well today.

One thing about winning at auctions, you just paid more than everybody thought it was worth!

66°F and 1.33 inches rain last 24 hours. still raining this morning.

Managed to get most of the power washing done on front side of house, around the pool. Any good ideas on a sealer that is non slip and would stand up to our weather and algae/mildew/mold?

Annual Christmas luncheon in town today with my retired military friends. Always a good time.

Be safe
Have a great day.

That is quite true. Never really thought of it that way. But I have come away with things that I said was I would have paid more for. Oh well I really didn't need anything but said I would buy somethings that I would use if prices were right. But they weren't.

Good Morning. 1100, sunny, 60F with 43% humidity. Forecast high of 65F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 35F tonight. Looks like it's going to be a fine day here at the Larro Ranchero. But I worked late and got woke up early, and not really in the mood to do anything outside. I don't have to go into work until 1600. We had a wedding on the books but they canceled just recently, and there was only one Christmas party called for the date since then.

I've been re-reading all my Sackett novels by Louis L'amour, and I think I will curl up on the couch with Jubal until it's time for me to go to work. The way my memory is getting, if I wait a few years between reads, it's all fresh to me.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,

Larro

Been busy spreading, leveling and packing mortar sand in prep for the garage floor that's going in Monday. Cold and windy for at least a week.

I am seriously thinking about doing some bushhogging tomorrow. We don't have any snow on the ground, and it isn't supposed to rain until the night. I looked at my back pasture, and it could really use some attention.

300UGUY.
Is the ground frozen?
Number guys in my area brush hog there back pasture right before snow, easier to see objects you don't want to hit plus less chance of bee's attacking...OUCH

Not really. It's been in the mid 30's to the mid 40's.

Love those books. I have almost every Louis L'amour book.

The man was good. For the four years I was writing I didn't read anything published after 1725, which meant mostly non-fiction. My stories are set in 1718, and for the most part right up the river a few miles from Drew's new place, so I've read every old Carolina history I can find. The last two years, since I've stopped, I've been catching up on novels. I still go for the stories set in the 17th and 18th century.

Wife took this pic of the back yard area a few days back...

The snow is still there, but I cleaned a couple paths to both out buildings and the wood piles since it was taken.

Wow, I almost feel guilty with the 70's beautiful day here. But don't be too upset, I ended up working up almost a 1/4 cord of firewood, splitting it with a maul. Cutting, splitting and stacking. Also built a small bonfire ready to light, and another small fire in a small pit ready to light. Thought I was going to do it tonight but just took some ibuprofen and relaxing instead.

Never did see 50 today. But it did make it to 45. Managed to get building ready for second floor joist hangers and floor joist.

29F. Used the snowblower the first time this winter today. We ended up with 5-6 inches of reasonably fluffy snow.

Sunshine forecast Sunday & Monday which I'm really looking forward to. Should be upper 30's both days so I will clear some of the ice crap off the roofs to be ready for winter.

Bush hogging in mid-December, eh? Sounds odd. I don't think the weeds are going to grow anymore this year.

Larro, would you post the location of your stories again please?
I'm just finishing that book on traveling in an RV with a dog, and I need something new.
Say some local fiction....
thanks
