Good morning!!!!

I need to drive a ground rod at the shop since there was never one driven when the electric service was originally installed.

I don't relish the idea of doing it manually with a sledge hammer and I do have a SDS Max Hammer drill ... so why not use that ?

In fact, I understand that several companies offer a SDS Max bit to do exactly that. Checking online I see that prices for said bit appear to range from $45 to $60+ ... not gonna happen.

I purchased the 3 short SDS Max bit set from Harbor Freight for $25 (on sale)

So ... one of those is going to be sacrificed to make a ground rod driver bit.

Now I just have to weld them together:

Let us know how the ground rod drive goes! I have to do the same here pretty soon as I am putting in a 100 amp service in the new workshop / barn.

64 cloudy and likely rain and 76. May be a good day for some paperwork after I get back from the gym.

72 degrees and pouring away; definitely an inside day and a day to do some shopping.

sort of a sad day yesterday, removed my Case IH from the owned tractors list.
It would not fit easily on the trucker's trailer with all my other stuff, and I had been thinking about giving it back to the church anyway; where it came from in great need of repair. Besides, while it was nice, I really don't need two tractors; the Kubota will do it all with more implement changing.
so when it would not fit, I figured it was an omen it didn't want to leave. So I gave it to the Quaker Meeting along with the almost new Land Pride mower on back. Returning it in better condition than I got it for sure. And got a great deal of satisfaction doing so.

65 out when I left this AM. Rain in the forecast, had some storms miss us this w/e. Unfortunate because the weather was no excuse not to mow the grass. It appears to be going dormant, a little less thick and drying out. Thank goodness. We battled with some rose bushes, pruning them out, lost that battle too. Should have just rolled in them to minimize the pain.

47F and clear this morning headed to low 70's today. Should be a fine day.

Buppies, this spring I had a cough so wicked I had to hold my ribs when I coughed. I had coughed so long and so hard my rib cage and stomach were strained, no fun. Hope you and the wife get relief soon. I ended up going to the doctor for antibiotics since it just didn't seem to be leaving on its own.

Drew wonderful thing you did and I'm sure the church can use it. The rain you are seeing now will be duplicated this coming Friday and Saturday. Believe you moved to the soggy south

First cool morning in central Ohio with 52 degrees overnight. Heavy dew and the grass continues to grow faster than I can cut it. In rural New England grass cutting was a sometimes thing so you could let it go or not worry about trimming things but not so around here. This is a big farm area and there is a particular pride in mowing that keeps every blade of grass in check. I have some paying jobs to do during the day but early evening and tomorrow is back on the mower.

Ah yes, you are in the heart of the "Mowing Man Era" culture.

Someday far in the future archaeologists will be scratching their heads trying to figure out what sort of religious practice was involved in the worship of large expanses of mown grass that appear to have no useful purpose. It's much uglier than that, but I'll keep it light in the Good Morning thread. :)

Believe it or not, I've had to mow every week all this summer. It's just starting to slow down now with the shorter days.
