Sadly, I think we have grown a expanding group of folks that expect to just receive Expansion of our welfare state? A couple years ago we decided to give away a perfectly good TV we no longer needed. Put an ad on our local Freecycle and quickly got a response. After a couple of back and forth emails where she checked it out, she decided she'd take it, when would I deliver it? Only 25 miles each way!!! Now if this had been a little old lady, no trans, and up front about it, I'd likely been happy to do so, but I got the distinct impression this one just expected the extras. I'm constantly amazed at the Wanted ads and the audacity of some of the posters. I did eventually give it away and the new owners thanked me profusely while loading. Made me feel they were thrilled and so was I.

I surely don't mind giving something to someone, especially if they can put it to better use. I appreciate getting stuff as well. What does bother me at times is the attitude vs gratitude at times.

Been busy here for a couple of days, splitting firewood. Now my back hurts... Going to do a couple more hours today... Then I need to stack it all. At least the temps are ok for this kind of work.

Good Afternoon. 1655, sunny, 95F {115F heat index} with 62% humidity. Forecast high of 97F with 30% chance of showers this afternoon, and a low of 74F tonight. I see our lows are supposed to be 67F in a couple of nights. I wish it would hurry up and get here.

I worked in Mamma's garden for about an hour just before lunch. It was hot. If you could hoe melons and cantaloupes with the sprinkler going, I would have done it.

I went and got new blades for the lawn tractor and replaced them and got the lawn cut so all is good.

57 right now....the rain is done for a couple days but more later this week. High today will be 75...

One of the zero turns I wanted to see was not available (still in Newport). The other has a 48" deck. I'm not sure if that would be much of an improvement over mowing (slower) with the 72" RFM.
The 48" unit would have some advantages around trees and such....and the asking price isn't too bad....$5500 for a low hour (263) machine. Still thinking about it.
