Drinking my 2nd cup of coffee, then going to work outside. Going to call mom down in Florida, then go to my inlaws for dinner. It is kind of nice, watching the chickens and goats fan out across the pasture this am. Almost worth the feed bill !!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone it applies to. Give the mother in your life an extra hug today. We are going over to Sister's later for a get together. Mamma, BIL's mom and dad, and a few of the Tampa cousins who happen to be up here in the woods will be there.

Seeing the Boy Wonder {Jeff Gordon} in Victory Lane kind of makes me feel young again. He's been winning for 20 years now. The win puts him 3rd place all time on the wins list, and secures him a spot in the Chase {Nascar's championship playoff}.

Happy Mothers Day

69F and .25 inches rain yesterday.
Gonna be a busy day - our annual neighborhood gathering/potluck with non neighbor friends invited. Will be interesting to see how many come.
Yesterday I slow cooked a 12 lb picnic shoulder for pulled pork, put another 10 lbs of beef in the slow cooker with lots of sliced onion. Wife made this baked bean dish with 2lb bacon, 2 lb ground turkey, 1 lb smoked sausage.

Sun is shining, looking to be a beautiful day.

Good afternoon and happy Mothers Day . Home from church, normally try and not mow on Sunday but weather forecast has me spooked, and no tractor to deal with real heavy grass cuts.

Another nice day - sunny, high 72F with nice WNW breeze. I hacked at the apple trees project most of the day. I hate old, wild apple trees. :laughing: Branches zipped together growing way out every which way. Lots of right-angle branches that make chipping harder. I hope the effort is worth it in the end. We'll see.

The birch trees are getting green, but everything else is just buds today. That will change quickly now. Sharon harvested a small serving of asparagus today, the first this year.

I got the Garden tilled today but wont plant till end of the month then should be save for freezing.I will probably till once more before planting.We hit 75 today and little muggy storms on the way.

Morning folks!

I just woke up 10 minutes ago (late for me!) and actually physically struggled to get out of bed. A caffeine addiction ain't nice!!

Anyway, the coffee pot has just brewed as I type so I'll go and get a cup of java, which will begin to wake me up hopefully.

It is currently a bright morning here in Scotland with a temperature of 7*C, however the sky has suddenly turned quite dark so we may be in for some rain.
