Good morning all. 73F at the start going to 97F and sunny. DP has dropped to 65F and there has been more breeze so not as bad as had been Chores and Labor Day prep on the agenda today.

The fix is in - received track kits for 9X7 doors instead of 8X8. Clopay tech guy called me at 3AM , apologetic when I mentioned the time, but very helpful. Just got off the phone with the proper customer service rep who already had a heads up from the tech guy. Of course the problem is shipping Most likely, local HD/Clopay installer won't replace out of his stock based on his chatter when he made delivery last Sat. He did his best to inform me that as a DIY purchaser I was getting a lesser quality product than if I had purchased installation, no warranty, inferior hardware that would only last a few short years before having to to be completely replaced at $600 /door just for the material as it was not the same as his installation and parts not available. Seemed like BS to me, but unfortunately at Installation cost being more than the door itself and X4, just not in my retired budget.

Dare I get my hopes up????

Good afternoon. Another day with no internet at home. I have it at work. Since it is the same company, this doesn't make sense. 1530, sunny, 89* with 63% humidity. Forecast high of 93 with no chance of rain. Margie had to water the flowerbed today. And I turned the soaker hoses up on the peppers. Haven't had to do that in a long time.

67 here at camp and when we got here yesterday it was 84 degrees. so much for cooler in the mountains!
Today temps will be in the high 70's so a bit cooler and will be a sunny day.

good morning all. 70 degrees going up to low 80's, no rain, but we got such a downpour yesterday my field mowing today is iffy, but this time of year, the fields at least seem to dry out quickly.

David/Sodamo, aarrrgghhhh....so close. What a frustrating experience for you after all your hard work. I thought the pep talk you got was BS... you'll probably use better fasteners than they will. Did they tell you you had to get a field alignment with the XP3000 garage door aligner? Over a thousand for that... And what about the required HUD inspection for the lower rubber seal fit? Can't let "illegal aliens" into your garage, with a thousand legs or not.
Did they instruct you to torque down the electric plug?

meeting with the local librarian in my home town to discuss book selection for the small endowment my Uncle left to the library. A naval captain in his first life, he then taught school in Arlington VA for forty years, up into his eighties.
He wanted to leave money for "classical literature". That's getting to be more of a challenge for today's libraries since today it's media...not books. And also...the library is holding its annual fundraiser with my Uncle, long deceased, getting the thanks, as well as the rest of our family. We've been pretty active volunteers in our little town over the last seventy years, Father, older brother, myself. So, the community wanted to say thank you. Pretty neat. Obviously they want to use my uncle's bequest as an example to get a few more at the fundraising party. I'll let my brother handle it, he likes to shmooze at these things more than I. But I used to be president of this little community library, so I'll go talk the talk with the librarian today.

67 this morning cloudy sun later high of 86. Progressively warmer thru holiday weekend but cooler next week. Supposed to be cold and wet for winter very cold in fact. Maybe will kill off the bugs. Gout is back and don't know why barely moving this morning, in ankle joint

Buppies, sorry about your ankle. In merry old England, gout was often caused by over rich foods, like eel pies.
Eating any eel pies lately?...
hope it clears up quick. Must be annoying, sort of coming out of nowhere.

Thanks Drew did not see this coming just went for doctor check up day before no sign of it at all. Makes it tough to get on paver but such is life. Thanks for caring and no cakes or pies diabetes says no

Got the coffee pot brewing. 64° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 83 with lots of sun today. Lawn cutting day. Just when I thought a little less rain was going to help with weekly cut of lawn. It's more like haying with the windrows that show up after cutting lawn. Oh well, Mother natures likes to keeps us changing.

Buppies; I'll have to dig it out of a stack of recipes somewhere, but I have a good recipe for a cake that diabetics can have. The recipe was given to my grandmother, when she was craving sweets, yet she too was diabetic. It is a pretty good recipe, and some never knew it was diabetic "safe". I'll look for it, if you miss such as that.

I am fortunate. I have never had much of a "sweet tooth". Last testing I had done, doc said if I am going to become diabetic, it won't be in the next 10 years! Good to know, as I think everyone on my mom's side of the family, including my mom were/are diabetic. Of course, I could just be lucky and have my dad's genes! I took after him in most respects, so maybe that way too.

Let me know, and I'll see if I can find the recipe. In the meantime, I hope the gout gets better, and quickly!
