Have lost hydro here, they say it should be back on by 8:45pm. Good test run for the generator as I have not run it in a while.
Gary, the hydro plant doesn't have backup? No grid backup or diversion?
We lose power here all the time here in suburban Philadelphia, mostly due to trees down on
wires, but it's been a long time since a generation issue. Good thing, since a couple of the fairly locals are nukes.
For two marvelous years of my life, after I sold my electronics business, and still not wanting to go back into insurance, yet..., I helped a friend build his business, installing electronic monitoring systems in power plants, including a number of the hydro plants in PA. I always looked forward to a hydro visit, they were just really neat, particularly the old ones, which are in the hundred year old range now. So I'm wondering if this was planned maintenance or a breakdown?
Yup, get that gen hot and work it. I have propane so I'm pretty sure it will start. Thank you Generac.
Propane is such a friend to an engine whereas gasoline with ethanol is just a headache around the corner.
I'm always pleased when my portable gas one starts. Reassuring. Kinda.
