Good evening. 1800, clear, 88 with 68% humidity. Forecast is for a low of 70 with a 20% chance of rain. We didn't have internet this morning until after 1100. By then I was doing my running around. It's like lights or water. You don't think too much about it when you have it, but you sure miss it when it's gone.

Have lost hydro here, they say it should be back on by 8:45pm. Good test run for the generator as I have not run it in a while.;)

Gary, the hydro plant doesn't have backup? No grid backup or diversion?
We lose power here all the time here in suburban Philadelphia, mostly due to trees down on
wires, but it's been a long time since a generation issue. Good thing, since a couple of the fairly locals are nukes.

For two marvelous years of my life, after I sold my electronics business, and still not wanting to go back into insurance, yet..., I helped a friend build his business, installing electronic monitoring systems in power plants, including a number of the hydro plants in PA. I always looked forward to a hydro visit, they were just really neat, particularly the old ones, which are in the hundred year old range now. So I'm wondering if this was planned maintenance or a breakdown?
Yup, get that gen hot and work it. I have propane so I'm pretty sure it will start. Thank you Generac.
Propane is such a friend to an engine whereas gasoline with ethanol is just a headache around the corner.
I'm always pleased when my portable gas one starts. Reassuring. Kinda.

I think a main switch blew just by the way the power was cycling on and off. Back on now, and was a good work out for the little Champion generator.

Well, so much for garage door installation. Both 8' doors came with 76" vertical track - I just can't seem to make it work. Near as I can figure, a standard 8' door track should be 88" :(

Looks good, even if not functional:

My 7' door has ~77" of vertical track.

Sounds like they gave you the wrong track for you door.

Looking good though :D

frankly the coolest stuff I ever watched was Showroom Stock at Summit Raceway in WestVa. Talk about some tire squealing.

You can still race at summit. I've driven their cars around that track a few times.
